Hello NB,I've been following this story for a while now but I didn't get the chance to comment earlier. I am actually a bit shocked that this is the final chapter of Book I. I didn't expect you to wrap it up today and I wish I had commented earlier because this story deserves a comment for every single chapter.
Anyway, hats off to you writing a story with such flawed and realistic characters. It must have been very difficult to write, because as a writer you get attached to the characters and you constantly want to redeem them or lessen their pain.
This is an outstanding piece of work and one of the best Arhi FFs I've read till date.👏 I was completely hooked from the start till the end and not once did I feel like I was reading a story.👏
The ending was completely unexpected, but life is not a bed of roses...and it's not really 'the end' because you're coming up with Book II. But even as a standalone story, the ending makes sense because sometimes, things just don't work out. People make mistakes, they get hurt or end up hurting others.
Khushi and Arnav are perfect examples of what happens when people go against their own philosophies. Khushi never fully understood or agreed with Arnav's way of life and yet she decided to get into a serious relationship with him, hoping he would change his mind someday. Arnav should have stuck to his beliefs instead of giving his half hearted consent for marriage.
But I am feeling very sad for Khushi. In a way it was better for Arnav to call off the wedding because with all his commitment issues, it probably wouldn't have worked out...just wish he realized it earlier. It's bad enough to go through a broken engagement once...to go through it twice must be painful beyond belief.
Garima and Devyani screwed up big time. Their intentions were good but they never should have meddled...and they made it far worse by hiding the truth from them. These two ladies have to take half the blame for what happened. if Arnav and Khushi knew the truth, this whole situation could have been avoided.
Thank you so much for writing CD. It was a pleasure reading it.
Hope to read Book II soon.
