Chapter Nine: Excerpt

Khushi softly closed Buaji's bedroom door, padding out towards the living room. From her position, she could see Arnav's hand thrown over his face in that familiar way, his dark stubble and bronzed skin a stark contrast to the crisp white pillow.

Heaving a sigh of relief that she wouldn't have to face him, she turned towards her room when his voice stopped her.

"You're running away. Again." Khushi froze, her heart pounding in her chest. She closed her eyes, desperately trying to tame her runaway emotions. She felt him approach her from behind, gently grasping her shoulders and leading her towards the couch, sitting her down next to him. She twisted her eyes away from him, not wanting to look at him in the face.
