When Angad Finally walked in his room at about 12 at night he found his bride asleep on the sofa still in the sitting position. Angad smiled, he knew Kripa could not stay awake past 10, she was still fully dressed with her jewelry and heavy clothes.

The wind was blowing through the half open windows, slightly disturbing Kripa's settled face. Angad went and closed it afraid that she would wake up or worse catch a cold. When he turned around after shutting the window, Kripa was awake the sound of the window shutting had woke her up.

She yawned trying to speak at the same time, "When did u get here Angad, I was waiting… then I guess I fell asleep."

"Oh just now sorry for disturbing you."

"No that's fine."

There was an awkward silence between them, both of them waiting for the other to say something. It was as though this new relationship of husband and wife had somehow distanced them . They no longer could talk or joke around as old buddies.

Angad didn't know what to say, but he knew he must say something b/c Kripa was looking at him expectantly, the words burst out of his mouth before he could stop them, "Cold night huh?" He wanted at that moment to punch himself in the face, he was talking about "the weather" THE WEATHER!! what the hell would she think of him now.

"Yes it's a bit chilly, but I don't mind, I like it that way" she paused for a second before saying what was truly on her mind, "…Er Angad where do u keep extra blankets?"

"Blankets?" he asked dumbly.

"Well…I was just thinking that I would sleep on the floor and…well I didn't know where the blankets were." Kripa had to force herself to not blush she was so embarrassed and Angad was so damn slow.

"Floor?? What are u…" Then it hit Angad, like a bolt of lightning, "…I mean you don't have to sleep on the floor."

"Angad…"

"I mean you can sleep on the bed, I don't mind sleeping on the floor or the couch."

Kripa chilled a bit for a second she thought that Angad was actually telling her to sleep on the bed with him, not that she minded of course, but it would be a surprising statement coming from him, "No I couldn't I mean this your room and your bed."

"But you are a girl how could I let you…you should sleep on the bed." Angad and Kripa were both embarrassed beyond anything now, they were barely looking at each other even as they were speaking.

"You'll catch a cold." Kripa said as her last attempt to convince him.

"The same goes for you."

There was silence between them once more.

"Well there is something else that we can do…" Angad looked up not daring to believe what she was about to say it was clear what she was going to say, because there was only one real solution to the problem, "…well we are legally husband and wife so…it wouldn't really be wrong if we…" she gulped not believing she was saying this, "…well sleep on the same bed." she said it really fast not wanting to linger on it too much.

"Er…are u sure you'll be ok with this."

Kripa blushed, "I…yes."

Angad didn't push the topic any further he had enough of this and he was sure Kripa had too. He went asleep facing the other side. Kripa went and slept next to him, after removing her jewelry and putting it by the dresser. They both were at the edge of both sides of teh bed leaving enough space in the middle for another person to luxuriously sleep in.

She couldn't believe that she was sleeping on the same bed with her best friend and her love yet she had never felt so distant from him. Her life would be so perfect if Angad loved her even half as much as she loved him, but then it was true that one couldn't have everything in life, and she was happy with what she had. She had Angad, she owned him, he was only hers to love.

Angad closed his eyes but did not go to sleep, he had not when he had fanaticized his and Kripa's wedding night imagined that it would turn out to be so…weird. They were both so close physically yet so far apart, he felt bad for Kripa he did not mind this wedding because it was with the person that he loved but for her it must be such burden to be married to a person that she considered to be nothing more then a friend.
