Chapter 2
"Rey beta tum tayyaar ho???"
"Ji Bua...bas 2 minute..." he said as he clasped the final button of his sherwani...
"Bahot ache lag rahe ho..." said his bua patting his cheek.
"Rey I guess hame nikalna chahiye..." said Rey's mom Mrs.Gayathri Singhania explained as she stepped into his room. As soon as Mrs.Singhania stepped in, Rey's bua excused herself and went out.
"haan mom...chalthe hain..." he said as he closed the door of his wardrobe.
As he was about to step out of his room, Mrs.Gayathri stopped him for a moment.
"Rey papa se aashirvaad nahi loge???"
"Mom aapko nahi lagtha aap iss shadi ko kuch zyaada seriously le rahi hain???" he said as he clasped his wrist watch.
"Shaadi hai Reyansh...koi khel nahi...plzzz ek aur baar soch lo...abhi bhi tumhare paas waqt hai..." she said holding his cheek for a moment.
Rey closed his eyes feeling her warmth. Mrs.Singhania saw his eyebrow curve for a moment. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. He looked at his mom whose eyes were eagerly waiting for his reply...
"Sorry ma...ab kuch nahi ho saktha...Mei yeh shaadi karke hi rahunga..."
With that he moved out of the room frustrated while Mrs.Singhania wiped the lone tear that escaped her eyes.

"Saare preparations teek se chal raha hai .." said Mr.Shekawat
"Bas ham sab tumhe miss rahe hain..." said Mrs.Shekawat turning the laptop webcam towards herself..."
"mei bhi aap sabko bahot miss kar raha hoon mom...Sorry mom kaam mei fhas gaya hoon" he Said smiling at his mom...
"waise dad aapko nahi lagtha sab kuch jaldi jaldi ho raha hai...You are sure right ki hamari Taani wahan kush rahegi..."
"Haan beta...Reyansh bahot acha ladka hai... khud ka business hai...financially stable hai...aur sabse important Taani se bahot pyaar kartha hain..." said Mr.Shekawat.
"Mr.Singhania passed away long back. Rey takes care of his bua and his mom...Aur uski mom zyaada baatein nahi karti...Looks like Rey uske bua ke saath kaafi attached hai...Bahot acha family hai beta..." Said Mrs.Shekawat while he passed a gentle smile...

"Waise honeymoon ke liye kya plan kiya hai tum dono ne??" asked Neha as she arranged Taani's jewels on the table...
"I really don't know..." She said as she adjusted her Lehenga
"Am sure ab tak Rey ne koi na koi surprise plan kar diya hoga..." smirked Shruthi...
Taani smiled. At the same time, her mobile blinked...
"Tera prince charming hi hoga..." said Shruthi filing her nails carelessly...
"Shut up Shruthi...Rey nahi Bhai ka phone hai..." said Taani as she picked her phone...
"So my dear Taani Shekawat...thodi der mei Taani Singhania banne wali ho...So kaise feel kar rahi ho???"
"Ajeeb se feel kar rahi hoon bhai...Waise mei bahot upset hoon...meri shaadi ho rahi hai...aur aap nahi aayenge??
"Sorry dear...kaam mei fhas gaya tha...Waise don't worry mei jaldi se wapas aunga tumse milne...Err...by the way I should agree ki tera boyfriend kafi handsome hai..."
"thank you bhai..."
"Tum kush hona Taani??"
"haan bhai mei aaj bahot kush hoon..." she said and looked at Shruthi...
"Waise bhai aap India kabb aa rahein hai???...Yahan bahot saare log hain jo aapke saath flirt karne ke liye tarass sahe hain..." she said catching the pillow Shruthi threw at Taani...
"Oh really???" her brother chuckled...
"Ouch! Mera makeup karab kyun kar rahi ho???" shouted Taani adjusting her hair which was messed up a few seconds ago by Shruthi at the same time holding her phone in between her shoulders...
"Ok Taani...All the best...Love you..." he said
"Love you too bhai...aur haan..."
"Aur kya Taani???"
"Aur agli baar nashe mei mujhse baath mat karne...Bhai I just hate it..." She said with anger evidently filled in her tone...
"Arey am sorry Taani...Bas friends ke saath ek chota sa party tha aur..." he found that the call was disconnected already...
Taani picked another pillow from her cot and threw it on Shruthi...
"Grow up Taani...Mera image karab kyun kar rahi ho??" Shouted Shruthi...
"Don't say that You weren't checking out my brother ...And guess what he was drunk...He knows I hate it..." Replied Taani
"Oh come on Taani...Tera bhai hai itna handsome hai...thoda flirting tho chaltha hai...aur baath drinks ki ho tho woh New York mei hain...tumhare native jodhpur mei nahi..." winked Shruthi...
"Whatever..." she said checking herself in the mirror once again...
"Weird..." Whispered Vishnu and Prithvi to each other who were standing at the entrance watching the hungama created by the girls...

That evening,
The entire place was filled with music, colors and life. She saw him sitting magestically on the horse near her doorstep. He was no less than a prince who had come all the way to grab his princess. She bit her lower lips with a gentle blush as he looked at her and winked at her. Soon Taani found her mother taking his aarti and he moved in magestically with the turban on his head and tilak on his forehead. A line of smile and contentment filled her heart. His friends Neeil and Bharat along with Vishnu and Vicky followed him in.
A few minutes later the hustle in the crowd freezed for a moment as she entered the mandap like a fairy from dreamland. Her Lehenga perfectly matched his sherwani and her simple makeup and the natural blush added to her natural beauty...Their eyes met for a moment. She found herself getting lost in those honey brown pair of eyes which craved for her. As soon as she went near him an unknown feeling of fear and excitement took over her...
"Maar dalne ka iradha hai kya???" she heard him whisper in between the rituals. Her eyebrows curved for a moment and she looked at him.
"Agar itni pretty lagthi rahogi tho am sure mein inn cheezo par kabhi concentrate nahi kar paunga..."
"Rey kuch bhi.." she patted his shoulders gently while the pandit shrugged a little asking them to concentrate on the rituals. Taani glared at Rey as he chuckled.
Later the pandit asked them to take the pheras. Neha tied the piece of cloth between Rey and Taani and thus the pheras began.
As the pandit started explaining the meaning of each phera, Taani and Rey started taking The Seven Vows:
Rey I promise to take care of our home and all household responsibilities she whispered to herself as directed by the pandit. And I promise you Taani, that every second of your life from this moment I will gift you pain ,hatred and Grief..he whispered to himself with a evil smirk as he felt her presence behind him.
As they completed the first phera, the pandit explained them the second phera while Rey and Taani obeyed them carefully...Rey I promise you that I will be by your side filling your life with courage and strength. I will rejoice in your happiness and in return all that I expect is that you love me like this forever. She smiled as she found him looking at her from the corner of his eyes with a gentle smile on his lips.
And I promise you that from this moment I will be the sole reason for all the problems you face...
As they moved forward for the third phera, she closed her eyes and promised herself "Rey I will love you solely for the rest of my life, as you are my husband. Every other man in my life will be secondary. I vow to remain chaste". She looked at her dad who was standing there watching her take the oath without any objection over his daughter's sudden change of priority. For a moment she was lost in their selfless love. A trickle of tear drop had already started taking its position in her eyes. Rey paid least attention to what the pandit explained and wondered if she would waste all the tears that moment itself.
And for the fourth phera The pandit requested Taani to move forward and asked Rey to follow her. The crowd listened to his words carefully. And the pandit explained that in this vow The groom thanks his would-be wife for bringing auspiciousness, happiness, and sacredness in his life, Rey and Taani smiled at each other. The pandit continued that in return, the bride takes an oath to serve and please her husband in every way possible. Taani nodded her head affirmation and whispered "I promise" to herself. And Rey had nothing to do in this. He thanked Taani for being in his life as she was his key to fulfil his revenge...
As they completed their phera, Rey took his next phera paying least attention to what the pandit was blabbering..."Taani Now that you have whole-heartedly stepped into my life I will make sure that I take complete advantage of this golden opportunity. I will make your entire world revolves around me and only ME...".Taani saw Neha and Vicky holding their hands hiding themselves in the crowd. A smile crept on her face as she found Vicky winking at Neha while Neha was busy hiding her blush. Taani closed her eyes and took the phera whole-heartedly... Rey my entire world revolves around you now...I promise to love and cherish you for as long as I live. Your happiness is my happiness, and your sorrow is my sorrow. I will trust and honor you, and will strive to fulfill all your wishes.
"Kitne cute lag rahe haina dono???" whispered Shruthi to Vishnu...Rey's bua whi heard this whisper looked at Rey sharply clutching the end of her pallu tightly. Mrs.Singhania looked at the couple without any expression. All that she could do now was to pray GOD for her son. "Taani fulfilling my revenge by making your life a living hell will always remain my priority..." He looked at her sharply."And I will always be by your side in all your noble deeds..." She whispered to herself meeting his eyes from the corners of her eyes not having the slightest idea of what her oath is going to cost her.
As they moved to the final phera, the pandit explained them that in this phera, the couple pleads for the long lasting relationship, enriched with understanding and loyalty. He explained them to take an oath to nourish their relationship with love and honesty and be together with each other forever not only in this life, but also in the lives to come. Taani closed her eyes..."As God is witness, I am now your wife. We will love, honor and cherish each other forever".On the other hand Rey never knew why but the promise for long lasting relationship made him stiff for a moment. His eyes scanned for his mom and felt guilty when he found that the pair of eyes which he was searching were already staring at him. He found his mom along with his bua watching him. He took a heavy breath and without any hesitation he closed his eyes and whispered, "You are my WIFE. You are mine ONLY MINE. But I will never be yours for eternity.
With the completion of the 7th phera, the pandit officially declared both of them as husband and wife and as a final mark they were taken to the mandap once again to complte the final rasam of tying the mangalsutra. Taani found herself standing infront of her prince...As Taani was about to place the garland Neil and Bharat lifted him making it difficult for her to reach him...There was huge applause and noise amongst the crowd...Without wasting a minute Vicky and Vishnu lifted Taani and she placed the garland on around his neck without wasting a moment...
"Arey yaar.." sighed Neil and Bharat while Taani marked her victory...
"Mei jeet gayi..." shouted Taani and winked at Rey...Rey chuckled as he thought that this was going to be her last victory... He placed the garland around her neck and there was huge applause from the ground.
And they settled on the mandap. After a few formalities, the pandit presented the mangalsutra to Rey. Rey and Taani looked at each other. As he moved his hand around her neck, she hissed in pain for a moment as the clasp of his bracelet pierced her neck making a paper cut. He fixed the clasp of the mangalsutra and looked at her. Finally he marked her his WIFE and the pride was completely visible on his face. A drop of tear escaped Mrs.Shekawat eyes. Mr.Shekawat had a big smile and a heavy heart watching his doll getting married. Neha, Shruthi, Vishnu and Vicky hi-fived each other. Neil and Bhaarat congratulated Rey and Taani. The guests applauded and passed their wishes to the couple. Rey's Buaji patted Taani's cheek gently passed her wishes to the couple. As Rey and Taani were about to take Mrs.Gayathri Ssinghania's blessing, she stopped them in the middle. Mrs.Gayathri Singhania patted Taani's cheek and kissed Rey's forehead. Rey and Taani looked at eath other. His face held the smile which had already plotted his next step whereas Taani who couldn't make out the reason behind his evil smile returned him his smile forgetting her pain that moment.
Sometimes the excitement of reaching our destination heals the pain caused by thorns in our path...
