...Part One...
Hi guys..
I know I am damn late. Sorry I had my exams..
I wrote this about 3 months ago but couldn't update.
Hope u guys would like it.
A bright sun playing hide and seek with the clouds ,came out. Arnav
was sleeping peacefully, when a lady came to him and placed a kiss on
his forehead.
Arnav : shall I sleep for 5 minutes. Please.
What can a mother do, when her child for 3 years son with a puppy face
ask her he wants to sleep 5 minutes.
Aaradhana : okay okay.
Aarav : Arnav ... Where are you?
Arnav woke up with a jerk : coming papa..
He pushed the quilt and ran into the washroom. Back,
Aaradhana smiled seeing him.
Arnav : not so funny mom.
Arnav too giggled.
Aaradhana : go ..
He yawned when he came out of the room. He saw his papa sitting on the
sofa. He walked tiredly and went and sat on his father's lap pushing
the newspaper away. He clutched on to his father shirt for balance.
Aarav : good morning..
Aarav said keeping the newspaper down.
Arnav (yawning) : good morning pa.
Aarav : still sleep.
Arnav nodded , yawning again.
Aarav : Aaradhana..
He called out his wife. Arnav too joined him.
Arnav : hey Aaradhana , where are you? Come fastly.
Aarav : not fastly. Just fast.
Arnav : Come fast.
Aaradhana came with a big stick and stood before Arnav. He opened his
eyes widely and saw the stick. Within a second, Arnav ran out off the
house and went to his garden.
Aaradhana and Aarav smiled at his innocence.
Aarav : Aaradhana, school admission are going to open. Which school
shall we put him?
Aaradhana : you itself choose or ask your friend, Shashi. You always
ask him. Then ask this too.
Aarav : By the way , when is the delivery date for Garima.
Aaradhana : Next week. I will call Arnav ask about the school to him first.
Arnav came.
Arnav : yes papa.
Aarav : Arnav , we are going to put you in school.
Aaradhana gave him the milk. He sipped it and nodded.
Phone rang...
Arnav attended the call. He couldn't even pick up the receiver but
somehow managed. It was Shashi on the line.
Arnav : good morning uncle.
Shashi : good morning Arnav, immediately give it to your papa.
Arnav : papa..(shouted) come here immediately. Uncle is on line.
Aarav : on the line..Arnav.
Arnav : okay.
He gave the phone to Aarav. Shashi spoke in an exciting voice.
Shashi : you want a girl or boy.
Aarav : obviously a girl who can pair with Arnav.
Shashi : I hope. Come to the hospital. I have admitted Garima.
Aaradhana : is it? When?
Aarav switching on the loudspeaker.
Shashi : just before five minutes. Come quick.
Aarav : yes. In minutes.
Shashi: before that ask your son,if it is a girl, Is it okay for him?
Aarav : Arnav..
Arnav : yes papa.
Aarav : Is it okay for you?
Arnav : okay papa.
Shashi , Aaradhana and Aarav burst into laugh hearing this. Shashi
with a heartily laugh disconnected.
Arnav : what were you all talking about? It was about the school right.
Aarav : nothing.Go and get ready. We are going to the hospital.
Arnav : no.. I am not going to hostipal.
Aarav : not coming..
Arnav : okay, I am not coming to hostipal.
Aarav : but why.
Arnav : that doctor and his big size tube.
Aarav : injection..
Arnav : yes, that one.
Aarav : it is not for you. Come with me , I will show you a surprise to you.
Aaradhana : you both go, I will go to office. The keys are with me. I
will handover it and come.
Aaradhana left for the office while Aarav and Arnav went. They reached the car.
Arnav smiled at Aarav and pointed the bike.
Aarav : Okay come. Even I want to go in bike today.
They were in half way to the hospital when a lorry in its full speed
came at the front. Aarav noticed it must be some enemies and he took
Arnav in one hand and pushed him to the other side. Arnav got hurt on
his head and blood was oozing out from his head. He immediately look
at his father. But he was only able to see the bike flying and his
father falling down from the bike. The bike exploded and Arnav was
struck with this incident.
Arnav : daddy.. Daddy. (shouted in a high tone)
He cried out and ran to him. A crowd gathered. Ambulance came and took
Aarav and Arnav to the hospital.
Hospital, Garima gave birth to a girl. The doctor came out and told it
is a girl.
Shashi : thank you. Can I go inside.
Doctor : yes.
Shashi went and carried his daughter in his hands. Blood stinks on her body.
Nurse carried her to clean , wrapped a towel around and brought to
them. Showing to Garima, Shashi smiled at the child. They could hear
her cries. A soft low cry.
Garima : did you ask Aaradhana to come.
Shashi : yes, I informed when we came to hospital itself. Don't know
where they have gone.
Garima : call them.
He placed his daughter next to Garima and called Aarav.
Switched off.
I will see outside.
Ambulance
Aarav saw Arnav sitting next to him.
Aarav : take care of your mother. And there is someone who going to be
born to care of you.
Arnav couldn't get what he was telling but the words got register in his mind.
Aarav took Arnav's hand in his: never leave your mother and Shashi family.
He nodded. But the tears were rolling down from Arnav's face. Aarav
didn't speak any more.
Arnav :( to the doctor) What happened? Why daddy is not talking?
Doctor : Your father is no more.
Arnav was shattered. The small boy could not understand the words but
was able to understand his father won't be talking to him again and
will never be with him anymore.
They went to the hospital. And Aaradhana too came.
Arnav ran to his ma as soon as he got down and saw her.
Aaradhana : Arnav, what happen. Blood.
She immediately dragged him to the hospital.
Aaradhana (stopped) : where is your father.
Arnav pulled the cloth covering the stretcher. Aaradhana broke down
seeing Aarav in that state.
She hugged Arnav and mourned. Shashi came there and saw what happened.
He was shocked.
He asked the doctor to take the body and carried Arnav to the ward.
After the treatment, Arnav came out of the room with a big plaster in
his forehead. Aaradhana was sitting on the chair crying. He came to
his mother and hugged her.
Aaradhana : did your father tell you anything?
Shashi came.
Arnav : papa told me to take care of you and (paused). Ma. Papa will
not come back ma.. he told he will surprise me.
Tears rolled from Shashi and Aaradhana's eyes. Arnav asked though he
know his father won't be back.
Aaradhana : and..
Arnav : he told something . I didn't understand. There is someone who
is someone going to be born for you... After that he didn't speak ma.
He was silent. I asked doctor when he said he is no more.
Aaradhana : girl or boy.(She looked at Shashi for an answer)
Shashi : girl...
Aaradhana : take Arnav with you and don't tell anything to Garima. (To
Arnav) Tell aunty that you slipped from while playing. Okay... I will
take care.
Shashi couldn't tell anything. He went.
Arnav entered the room and saw Garima with a baby next to her. He ran
and saw her.
Garima woke.
Garima : what happened Arnav?
Shashi : nothing. He slipped.
Garima: careful Arnav..
He didn't hear what they were talking about but was still struck with
the babies face. He tried to touch but was nervous..
Garima : aunty, can I touch.
Arnav touched the soft cheeks when the baby woke and gave a cute smile.
Garima : she is smiling Arnav.
Arnav just nodded and touched her hands. The baby caught his hand tightly.
Arnav : aunty. Not leaving.
Garima : if you take your hand. The baby's hand will get hurt so, keep
it like that.
Arnav : no. I won't take.
He sat next to baby and watched her cute smile in her sleep. The hold
loosened but he didn't like to take his hand.
Garima slept. Aaradhana came..
Arnav : ma.. The baby is smiled..
Aaradana pretended to laugh at him.
Aaradana came near the baby and kissed her cheek. The baby woke again.
Aaradana : come Arnav we need to go home.
Arnav pointed the hold in his hand.
Aaradana smiled : come.
She tried to take but
Arnav : no ma . I will.
He removed his hand when the baby started to cry. He was in the state
of cring too seeing that. He neared and kissed the baby when the girl
smiled. Arnav and Aaradana came out when Arnav ran back to Shashi..
Arnav : ( between his breathes) uncle.
Shashi : yes Arnav.
Arnav : Can i see the baby.
Shashi : come.
Arnav : Uncle, name the baby Khushi ..uncle. I feel happy when see her.
Shashi (in his tears) : good name. Go Arnav. Your mom is waiting.
He went till the door looking at his Khushi again and again...
Finally, at last gave my update.
