Taani and swayam - night - at dinner table

Swayam eating, taani playing with her food looking now and then at the door, continuously talking

"so bhai, aapke aur Sharon bhabhi ke beech kya problem hain?"brightly

"tumse kisne kahaan ki problem hain? rey?"

"nahin rey mujhe aapke baare kuch bhi nahin batate. Bas aap dono ko dekhkar laga"

"nothing"

taani waited,"aap mujhe kabhi kuch nahin batathe" she said complainingly

"aisi baat nahin hain but ...its not important"

" agar important baat hothi tho bhi aap mujhe nahin batathe" she continued complaining tone

"dekho taani jab kuch batana hoga , main batadoonga" taani made a face, he avoided looking at her and serving himself, said ," tum batao, tumne apne project mein changes kyun kiya?"She didnt reply," aur wo bhi itni useless changes"

"useless nahin hain" he gave her a really ? look," different strategy hain bas"

"taani main stupid dikhtha hoon tumhe?" she didnt look at him," none of those changes are good"

Taani looked at the door again and turned to swayam

"taani, rey is going to be late. Wo investors se milne gaya hain. tum khaalo" irritably

"haan bhai!" she was flustered at swayams direct comment and started eating. Mobile message ...taani leapt up , saw the message and her face fell, she sat on the table quietly and started to eat. Swayam was watching her," kya hua?"

"kuch nahin..rey ne message kiya ki wo aaj busy hain bas" and looking at her plate put the food into her mouth.

"so?" swayam waited for her to answer, she didnt," tum itni upset kyun ho?"

"bhai, main upset nahin hoon" swayam was beginning to get irritated

"okay, fine" he snapped but continued,"ab tell me tumne apna proposal change kyun kiya?tumhaare college ke link ups se tumhaara original idea hi teek tha , yeh sab confusion nahin hotha "

"wo bhai, mera original proposal sirf mere college mein hi karsakthi thi, Mumbai aane ke liye kuch easywaala chahiye tha tho..." she answered

"tho tumne easy route apnaaya?" he sighed ," taani mujhe laga tum badal gayi ho! phir se bachpana? " her face darkened," tumhe idea hain ki tumhaare project tumhaare career se directly linked hain?"she didnt answer," waise tum aaj VP sir se mili ? project ke baare mein?" she nodded," kya kahaan unhone?"

"wo mere local mentor banne keliye ready tho hain but...mujhe kaam karne keliye business house khudh dhoondna padega.."

"tumne papa se baat ki?" she shook her head negatively," abhi tak nahin"

Swayam continued," rey ne kya kahaan?"

"maine unhe bataya nahin"

"matlab? " swayam put his hands on either side of plate and said sharply ," tumhe yaad hain ki tumhaara break up kyun hua tha? " taani looked at him absolutely hurt," phir se tum apni career ko leke phir se serious nahin ho aur upar se usse chupaya ... and to top it kisiki help ya opinion nahin liya, kuch bathathi ..."

" maine aapko mail kiya tha"

"haan sab kuch decide karne ke baad... nahin seriously,rey ko bhi yeh bilkul achha nahin lagega ..." she got up and walked out into the kitchen without replying.

Swayam was for a second shocked but then , got irritated. He got up too and followed her," main tumse important baat karrahaan tha"

"mere liye important nahin hain, haina bhai? Jab khudh decide karoon tho problem, na karoon tho problem... jab bhi mujh batana hoga main batadoongi" she replied back also angry, tauntingly and started walking away

Swayam anger increasing," u know what, tum na yeh sab attitude apne boyfriend ke liye save karke rakho. Mere saamne mat dikhao" and walked the other way

Taani in her room, walking up and down , trying the phone and muttering , her eyes slightly wet

" please rey kahaan ho aap? Phone tho uthao"

Rey received," hi sweetheart! Sorry couldn't call" his voice sounded sleepy. Taani s heart leapt up at his voice but then she frowned," aap so rahe the?"

"ummm" "oohh" she hesitated, she wanted to complain about swayam ," aapko bohot neend aarahin hain?" not that rey would take mera side...phir bhi..

"ummm...matlab nahin" he said though it was clear he was sleeping," The meetings was such a flop taani... life sucks sometimes...agar tum bhi mere paas nahin hothi na.. ...tumhe kya hua? "

She sighed," kuch nahin, kal baat karthe hain. gn"

"okay...love you" and cut the call making her feel better about her decision, leaving her with a smile,bhai se baat karlethi hoon, khamakha jagda kiya and moved to the door. It opened and swayam stood at the door. Both of them looked at each other

"sorry"taani said and he walked in, sat on a chair

"its not good taani"

"kya good bhai? " she sighed," fine maine apna project change kiya kyunki main yahaan aana chahthi thi rey ke saath" he opened his mouth but she stopped him with a look," see bhai, is project change se mera career khatam nahin hojaayega.."

"shuru bhi nahin hoga..."

"maybe " she smiled," thoda delay hoga bas...shayad 6 months tak ya ek saal tak.wo tho waapas aasaktha hain. more importantly, in 6 mahino mein mere aur rey ke saath rehne se hamara relationship strong hoga. " she stopped seeing whether he was uncomfortable,he seemed fine," i know ki yeh waqt hamare liye very important hain. itne mahino se ek doosre se alag the , ab ek saath hain tho..." and couldn't continue. She felt a lump in her throat. He understood that but..

"but rey ko..."

"rey ko bhi meri saath ki zaroorat hain abhi" she replied with a finality though she had her head bent to avoid looking at him. he stared at her bent head ,

"i don't agree taani ...kuch aur alternative sochna tha .."

"kiska alternative? Saath rehne ka?" she smiled at him," pehli hi bohot kuch galat ho chuka hain bhai.not again..mere liye project, career important hain par is waqt yahaan rehna zyaada important hain"

"okay..par tumne papa se baath kyun nahin ki?"

She hesitated," main khudh kuch search karloon agar nahin mila tho..tauji se poochoongi" he noted the hesiotation and realised that it was also bcoz she did not want to tell his dad about rey so soon.

" idk ...but tumne decide kar liya hain tho...well, im always here for you"

She hugged him ," sorry bhai" he patted her on the head," thanks bhi" and patted her cheeks. She smiled and caught sight of something in his wrist. She pulled his left hand and asked him eyes suddenly bright," yeh aapko kisne pehnaya? Sharon bhabhi ne?"

"nahin, aashi ne" he adjusted the thread on his wrist," usko yeh mere gale mein daalna tha but ...i wasn't comfortable tho phir usne kahaan ki yeh hamare friendship ke liye hain etc., etc., and so..." showed it

She burst out laughing...aashi! swayam looked at her amused

"bhai! Isko na Sharon bhabhi ko mat dikhaana"

"kyun?"

"aap ko samaj mein nahin aayegi"

"tum girls ki baat na samaj aaye wahin accha hain" he smiled and went to the door. She called

"bhai! Mujhe acchi tarah yaad hain ki mera break up kyun hua tha" she told him straightly though the hurt in her tone was heard,"par uskeliye main apni khudh ke feelings ya ideas ya ...apni personality ko entirely change nahin karsakthi...na hin main karoongi. Jo main hoon, main hoon bas"

Reys House

Rey on the mobile, grumbling , walking up and down...doorbell rang. He opened to find taani at the door. His immediate reaction was to smile but he controlled his smile and said in a stern voice," so? How come here? Ya wrong address pe ho?"

Taani who had smiled and moved to give him a hug, stopped," hhuuhh"

"3 days se pata nahin kahaan ho tho maine socha ki tumhe apne boyfriend ki yaad nahin hogi" sarcastic

"sorry rey, pata nahi 3 days kahaan gaye...mera itna kaam rukha pada hain aur mujhe itni..."she apologised looking tired and tensed

"so ? tum itni busy ho ki ek call bhi..."he persisted

"oh please rey! Aap bhi busy the..investors ke saath meeting kiska tha?" she answered back getting irritated ," aur maine call kiya tha...aap hi so rahe the...but maine kahaan na im sorry" she smiled cutely. He didnt relent, didnt call her inside but instead gave her dirty looks," ab kya aap mujhe yahin khada rehke baat karoge? " he didnt reply to that as well, " fine" she snapped and turned," main jaa rahin hoon" and walking swiftly," mujhe aur bohot saare ..."

He ran behind her and holding her arm stopped her...
