Kriya : hey Paul (nervously looking at rey.. rey was throwing draggers with his look)
Paul: K??(shouts excitedly) how are you SWEETHEART? I MISSED YOU SOOO MUCH.
Kriya gulps looking at rey nervously. But rey's eyes were wide open, staring at mobile in kriya's hand. She waits a moment to get rey's reaction when she didn't get,
Kriya :(clears her throat and starts with confidence this time, praying silently to her universe ji) I am doing good. Thanks. I called you to talk about something important Paul.
Paul : K, atleast for a formality ask me "how are you?"(his voice became sad but composing himself he starts again). Anyway tell me how can I help you DARLING.
This time rey looks at kriya but his expression was plain. Or you can say blank.
Kriya : Actually institute has sent me tickets but currently I can't even walk. My leg is injured so doctor has suggested me a month bed rest. I tried to explain it to Dean Sir but he was not convinced. Sooo
Paul: Awww. I know SWEETY. But you dont worry I have taken care about your injury. Have requested for wheelchair facility for you and you can come here and take rest. That's fine. I will give you a month leave.
Kriya:(sighs looking at her friends and then looks at rey who looked more sad now) I know Paul but I can take that month leave and take rest here only and then come back. By that time I will be able to walk and dance so I can resume my classes then.
Paul : huh. K. Expected reaction.
Kriya : wh.. what? What do you mean?(when kriya becomes little nervous, rey looks at her immediately. Alert)
Paul : you are reqesting to stay back there for that Guy right? Your dance partner?
Kriya understood everything now. And also she got it that there is more to come from Paul. Because he was trying a lot to impress her and possess her but she never gave him any rights on her. So understood that her annual day dance with rey had hurt Paul's ego. This time kriya didn't look at rey when he was eagerly waiting for her to look at him. Kriya was staring at her mobile in her hand. But the gang was happy that atleast kriya will open up now.
Kriya : His name is Reyansh. (Sternly)
Paul : Whatever (casually). But the fact is YOU WANT TO STAY BACK THERE FOR HIM. Damn you K
Kriya : You are taking it personally. As I said, because of my medical condition, I don wanna travel. It's as simple as that.
Paul : Am I look like a FOOL to you K? I have seen your annual day performance with that Bloody dance partner. What a chemistry? Huh.
Rey was also staring at her mobile now. They both had no guts to look at each other at this moment because they knew if they look at each other now, truth will be clearly visible in their eyes. The effect they have on each other still today can be read by any one in this moment if they raise their eyes.
Kriya: don't. address. him. Like that. It's my personal matter.
Paul : wow. Seriously. My guess was right then. You love him.
Kriya : I don't like anyone interfering in my personal life. Please
Paul : oh Jesus. Cut it K. Accept the fact girl. I should have objected dad when he agreed to your tie up proposal with your old college and was sending you there. This would've never happened then.
Kriya:(had tears in her eyes but she controls herself) I am asking you a simple question Paul. Whether I can postpone till my treatment completes here and then come back to NY? Is it that difficult question.? I thought you will understand and that's why called you to request. That's it.
Paul: yeah right. Simple question. Huh..(pause for few secs, then) now I will ask you a simple question k, what did find you in him, better than me?
Kriya's first tear drop falls as soon as that question came from paul. This time rey too had tears in his eyes but controlled himself and kept on staring at her mobile blankly. The gang too felt bad for kriya and rey but they choose to keep quite because atleast in this way kriya or rey will express their feelings.
Kriya: you are going too far Paul. (Her voice started shaking a little this time)
Paul : really ? Then say me that you don't have any feelings for him.
Kriya becomes numb for a moment when Paul ask that question. She didn't expected the truth to come out infront of rey and her friends like this. Rey couldn't not control his tears this time. Infact he didn't register that his all bottled up emotions since kriya left him are coming out infront of all his friends. He was involved in kriya and paul conversation deeply. He just hoped in that moment that "kriya should prove him(rey) wrong. She should prove their last conversation on pre Valentine's day wrong. Every damn thing she said that day, were not true." He just prayed "prove the fake hatred I have developed for you in my heart because of your those words, wrong. Just prove me wrong"
When Paul didn't get any response, he continues.
Paul : oh come on K. The way you danced with him so comfortably, the way he was shocked when he saw your injury, then the way he took care of you throughout the performance there after. Once you trembled also during the performance but he covered it very nicely by lifting you and then comforted you with a quick hug immediately. That too so cleverly that it looked like it was part of your dance but it wasn't. Right? And then after performance also he didn't left your hand till you guy's leave the stage. The way you looked at him when he held your hand was enough to tell the story.
Paul : leave all this K. These are nothing infront of the fact that you rejected the most important and huge opportunity for your dance carrier just to fulfill his wish.
This time kriya looks at rey immediately. Rey too responses the same way. Where as kriya was shocked and scared for rey's reaction to this truth, rey looked at her with exhaust expression. It was too much for him to digest. Years of his efforts to try and hate her and forget her and her bitter words, are all waste. His past with her is taking a complete new turn.
Their eye lock breaks when once again Paul starts to speak. They both again looks at kriya's hand in which she was holding her phone.
Paul : from my sources I got to know that he(rey) presented a idea of dance academy to his college few days back and the college board of directors had rejected his proposal. And if i am not wrong, the next day itself you presented the idea of this whole tie up thing to dad and convinced him. Not to forget, your sacrifice. The London school of Arts, a big break for your carrier. Huh. K? You always loved only him. That's why you never allowed me or any guy to come close to you. Forget about that, you always refused to do a duet performance saying you are not comfortable. Always did a solo or group performances.
Kriya definitely never expected the truth to come out like this. She was hell worried for rey in that situation.
Paul : but you danced with HIM so comfortably. the chemistry and the spark between you both was...I hate to say that it was OUTSTANDING. I always wanted to dance with you like that. Why k? What's there in him which I don't have? I am an International Dancer for god sake K. And he, just a normal college boy who has dance passion like many youngsters these days.(pause for few secs) come back K. To me. I will sign a contract for the tie up with that college the next day itself once you reach here. In that sense, you will fulfill his dream as well and I promise you, I will keep you more happy than him.
Kriya :(gritting her teeth whispers) I Love him. NO ONE CAN TAKE HIS PLACE IN MY LIFE. Yes you are an international dancer but for me, he is more talented dancer than anyone. And you are right Paul, I came here to fulfill his dream. And I can do anything for that. I can go to any extent to fulfill his wish but not on the expense of the special place he hold in my life. I can sacrifice anything but not his place in my life.. SO
All gets scared that what will she say now? They knew the answer but still the situation was too sensitive to handle. Rey was just looking at his hands which were holding each other tightly. He had tears in his eyes but controlled himself. Didn't shed a tear.
Paul : soo? Come on K. Be practical. Don't take any decisions emotionally. You will regret it later.
Kriya : smiles wiping her tears. Composing herself " huh. PAUL. It was nice meeting you. You will receive my application mail in few mins. I am quitting the Institute."
Paul : what? K no.
Kriya : you know, what I am regretting for right now?(pause for couple of secs) FOR CALLING YOU TO ASK A FAVOR. Good bye.
With that she cuts the call. Now including rey every one were looking at her. But her eyes were on her hands where she was clutching her mobile and trying not to cry. She can't become that weak. Her phone starts to ring, it was from paul. She looks at ringing mobile for couple of secs then she throws it on the nearby wall for making her this weak today. It breaks into pieces.
Few mins everyone were frightened with her reaction and were looking at her expecting her to cry loudly and they were full on ready to cheer her up and sort out things between rey and her. But Kriyansh were always unpredictable. May be that's why they love each other so deeply. Next thing gang knows is,
Rey : chalo guys (in a tired tone, yawning, gets up)
All(except kriya, she was still looking down trying hard not to cry) : kahan?
Rey: Antim sanskar karte hai..kriya ke mobile ka.
As soon as he said that everyone starts laughing. Except kriya.
Kriya : main yahin rahungi(still looking at floor)
All felt happy. Rey putting his hands on his hips
Rey : kahan? Floor pe? (Looking at the floor where she is still looking at)
Kriya :(now looks at rey) not funny rey. I meant, Aapke paas.(both looks at each other for few mins)
Rey : yahan rehna hai tho mere hisaab se rehna hoga. Mere conditions manni hogi tumhe. Sochlo (in a serious tone)
Kriya too stands up : kaise conditions?
Rey: condition no. 1. Aaj ke baad kuch bhi nahi chupaogi tum mujse. 2. jhoot nahi bologe fir kabhi mujse 3.
Kriya : I Love You
Rey stops for a moment when she finally says that. But again composing himself, ignoring what she said
Rey : 3. Hammare college join karoge wapas aur aaj ke baad kabhi aise stupid sacrifices nahi kiya karoge kabhi
Kriya : agar nahi karti tho aaj aapke paas nahi hoti. wahi NY ya London mein rehti door.
Rey : aur agar sacrifice na ki hoti tho kabhI muje chodkar gayi hi nahi hoti. Hum kabhi alag hi nahi hue hote. (Looking at her without blinking)
Kriya : rey I am so sorry. Pakka main aapki har baat manungi aajse..I love you rey. Bas muje aap mere puraane chabilal ko wapas la do.(wiping her tears.)
Blinking the drops of tears rey says "muje nahi pata tumhare chabilal kahan gaya hai. Tumhare saat saat chabilal bhi muje chod ke gaya tha uss din. Mila hi nahi muje fir kabhi."
Kriya felt really bad. Gang understanding the emotions of kriyansh, left from there silently, giving them privacy to sort out things.
Kriya : dont worry apki baatcutter usse doond ke ladegi muje.
Rey smiles with tearful eyes and opens his arms inviting kriya for hug. Kriya jumps to him and hugs him tightly. Both stay like that for sometime silently promising themselves that they will not repeat the mistakes they have done in past again in the second chance they have got in their life.
