-Chapter 5-
Finally catching a spare minute Muskaan plopped herself on her couch. She had never expected nor thought that one day she would be told that she would have to spend an entire day watching a 3 year old. She had never realized it would be so challenging to watch another human being. She was used to watching and taking care of adults. They at least had the capability of communicating what they wanted or needed. But this child? Well she was a totally different story. She didn't have the ability to say what she wanted because all she did was cry. Muskaan had never heard a louder cry then she had today. Her ears were still ringing with the sound. She just thanked god that Eva had finally gone to sleep. Thinking of Eva. Muskaan couldn't believe Riddhima had a daughter. She had been so shocked when Rahul had called her informing that he and Armaan were coming over to drop a little girl. Little had she known that the little girl would be the end of her.
Aaa. Silence. Finally. Thank you god! I can't believe this kid. She cries WAY too much! I just hope she doesn't wake up. Riddhima I bow down to you. I don't know how you do it! But I have to say. She's one adorable kid. She looks just like you. The same green eyes and dimpled smile. She's really going to make you proud. But now that she's sleeping. I think I deserve a nap too...or not. Here we go again! Why ME!
"Coming Eva!"
Grudgingly and very unwillingly Muskaan got off her couch and headed towards the same door she had just walked out from.
Okay Muski. Stay calm. You can do this. Remember she's only a kid. She's not Rahul. Oh god please help me!
Muskaan walked into her bedroom and upon seeing the scene before her the urge to bang her head against the wall became even stronger. Eva had not only woken up from her nap but was sitting up on the bed grinning with her face covered in bright red lipstick. It seemed as if she had found the abandoned object on the side table and had decided to try it out.
OH MY GOD! Not my red lipstick!
"Eva! What did you do! That was my favourite lipstick!"
Eva who had been soaking in her triumphant accomplishment a few minutes ago began to whimper and before Muskaan could do anything, she had begun to cry.
"Waaahhh!"
"No! No! Eva! Please don't cry! Okay I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
"Waaahhh!"
Oh god! Now what do I do? Think... YES! Someone is at the door!
"Coming!"
Muksaan hoping it was the boys left a crying Eva and headed towards the door.
"Thank GOD! You're both here!"
For the first time in her life Muskaan had never been so happy to open a door. Seeing Rahul and Armaan standing in front of her was nothing short of a miracle.
"Are you okay? What the hell is wrong with you?"
Rahul for as long as he had known Muskaan had never thought a day would come where she would actually be grateful to see him. Muskaan usually wasn't that enthusiastic when he came over but seeing her today just shocked him to his core.
"MAKE HER STOP!"
"Make who stop?"
"Make EVA stop CRYING! She's driving me NUTS!"
"WHAT? How is that possible? She's a kid."
"You don't know her Rahul. She's not a kid she's a crying machine!"
"Oh shut up Muski! She can't be that bad."
"Oh yeah! Then you handle her Mr.I.Know.Everything.About.Children.Mallik!"
"FINE! I will. Where is she?"
"She's in my room."
"Thanks."
Okay dude. You can do this. Prove Muski wrong. I'm coming Eva. I'm coming.

As he closed the door behind him. Armaan could feel his heart beating at 100 kilometers an hour. What was he thinking! Why had he opened his big mouth! He had never been around children much except for the odd patient but other then that he had no idea how to take care of children especially young ones. He was used to taking care of adults. They were easier to handle. But kids? Well they were like a whole other dimension. They cried all the time and were needy. They couldn't even communicate that well. They didn't have the ability to form coherent sentences. They spoke in monosyllables. And now all because he had gotten overly confident he had to take care of Eva.
Okay. I can do this. Just breathe. If I want to be with Riddhima then I have to get Eva to like me. I have to do this. I have to make her like me. Okay on the count of three I turn around and face her. 1...2...3...
Turning around in his spot Armaan came face to face with Eva. She was still sitting on the bed where Muskaan had left her and her face was still covered in bright red lipstick. The only difference was that she had stopped crying.
"Umm..Hi. I'm Armaan. What's your name?"
Omg. I can't believe I am talking to a 3 year old like I like to woman! Armaan beta you have lost it!
Eva looked at the strange man who called himself Armaan crouched in front of her. She couldn't understand where he had come from. This definitely wasn't her mom nor was he the crazy curly hair lady. But for some reason Eva felt as if he was a good person. He wasn't here to hurt her and so she decided to answer his question. After all her mommy had told her to be nice to old people.
"Eva."
"Well that's a very nice name Eva. I like it."
"Ta to."
"Can you say my name?"
"No."
"Oh come on. I'm sure you can. Here let me help you. AR-MA-AN."
"Aman!"
"No Eva. Armaan."
"Aman!"
"Oh well. Close enough."
"YAY!"
Eva clapped her hands in joy and squealed in happiness as she realized she had said his name. She liked this Aman guy. He was cool. She would have to tell her mommy about him. Thinking of her mommy Eva wondered where she was. Maybe Aman knew. And so moving forward Eva raised her tiny hand and placed it on Armaan's face. Feeling Eva's hand on his cheek Armaan felt something inside of him he had never felt before. He couldn't explain the feeling but what ever it was he liked it.
"Aman? Mommy?"
"You're Mommy? Oh she's at the hospital."
"Hopital?"
"Yeah see she was sick."
"Ick?"
"Yup. But she's all better now."
"YAY! Eva want mommy!"
"You want your mommy? Umm..Okay how about this. Let's get you cleaned up and then we will go see your mommy. Okay?"
"Otay!"
I so deserve an award for this!
Eva jumped up in her spot and grabbing a hold of Armaan's hand walked towards the bathroom.

Hearing the sound of footsteps Rahul and Muskaan who had been busy arguing about a t.v. show they were watching stopped in the middle as they heard footsteps approaching them. They turned their heads towards the noise and seeing Armaan and Eva walking towards them shocked them to the core. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. How had this happened?
"Rahul? Are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
"Yeah. Armaan is walking towards us with Eva holding his hand. And she's happy!"
"But how did this happen?"
"I don't know!"
"Then ask him!"
"Okay!"
"Umm...Armaan? How?"
"Oh. I guess I have a way with children that I didn't know. Anyways I'm taking Eva to see Riddhima. You guy's want to come?"
"Nah. I'm too tried."
"Muski?"
"No. I don't trust Rahul to be left alone. Hence I need to stay."
"Okay. Suit your self. Say bye to Rahul and Muskaan Eva."
"Bye Ra whol! Bye Mushi"
And with that Eva walked out of the crazy curly hair lady's house with her new friend Aman to see her mommy.

"Mommy!"
Riddhima jerked her head up as she heard that one voice she had been dying to hear. There standing in front of her with the biggest grin she could muster was her baby girl. She had grown up so much in the past few months and seeing how much she had missed brought tears to Riddhima's eyes. She would never be able to forgive herself if anything had happened to Eva. After all she was her everything.
"Eva!"
Armaan who had been holding Eva's hand picked her up and walked towards Riddhima's bed. He watched as Eva almost leaped from his arms towards her mother giggling in delight. He watched as Riddhima encircled her arms around her baby and hugged her tight against her chest kissing each inch of her face. He had never seen a more beautiful moment in his life. He could see how much Riddhima had waited for this moment and he was glad that he was able to fulfill his promise. He smiled at the duo one final time before slowly leaving the room to give the mother daughter some time alone. He had just about reached the door when a voice from behind him stopped him in his tracks.
"Thanks!
Armaan turned around in his spot and smiling a small smile simply replied
"Anytime."
Riddhima stared at the door Armaan had just left from. She had never thought that he would actually fulfill her wish. She had believed that she had lost him after she had told him the truth about Eva but from what he had just done for her it seemed as if she was wrong. He had never left to begin with. It had all been in her head. She doubted him thinking he was like all the other men in the world. But he had proved her wrong. He was different. He actually cared enough to go out of his way and find Eva for her and knowing that Riddhima not only respected him more but she had if it was even possible had fallen more in love with him. He had proved to her that he was not only an amazing doctor but he was an even better human being.
Thank you Skittle head! Thank you for giving me my Eva. Thank you for not breaking my faith in you. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being you. I love you. I just hope that when you find out the whole truth about me that you won't hate me.

Eva. What do I say about this kid? She's just amazing. Eva is Riddhima's 3 year old daughter. I know surprised right. Even I was. But I got to say after meeting Eva I wish I had known her earlier. Anyways after looking for her for almost a week Rahul and I found her. She had been living with Riddhima's mom Padma. She's an amazing person herself. She had been running with Eva everywhere since Riddhima had had her accident trying to keep Eva away from Riddhima's ex. I don't know how she did it but she's one brave woman and I'm glad I was able to meet her. Eva on the other hand wasn't to happy at first about leaving her grandma but I guess when Rahul told her that we were taking her to her mom that she was willing to come. I still can't believe I was able to handle her. I never thought she would even warm up to me that fast. But she did. She even learned my name, well the best she could at least. She calls me Aman. I know it sounds funny but coming from her little mouth it sounds like music. I just want to hear it over and over again. I don't know what it is about that little girl but she makes me want to be a better person. She makes me want to be a better doctor and I hope that one day I will. Anyways before I go I have to tell you that the best part of my day was when I took Eva to see Riddhima. I can't tell you how it made me feel. I have never seen so much love before. I could see in both their eyes how much they had missed each other and I'm glad I was able to do that for them. I'm glad I was able to help them both. And you know what. If I had to I would do it all over again. Man I can't wait to make them both mine.

Feeling a heavy weight on his chest Rahul opened his eyes to see a black mesh of curly brown hair. He at first thought a giant spider had climbed on top of him but as he looked closer he realized that the giant spider was really Muskaan. It then occurred to him that they had both fallen a sleep on the sofa while watching an old bollywood movie. He slowly raised his hand and moved a few locks of her hair to the side of her face that seemed to have been annoying her. He watched as her scrunched up expression slowly turned into a content one. She really was something he thought as he continued to stare at her sleeping peacefully on his chest. He didn't want to move but seeing the clock strike 1 am he knew had to leave. And so slowly without waking Muskaan up he picked her up in his arms and carried her towards her room.
Mukaan who had been dead to the world felt her face touch a soft object. She opened her hazel eyes just in time to see Rahul walking out of her room. She smiled softly as she thought about how lucky she was to have someone like Rahul. She knew he could have easily stayed the night with her but he being who he was respected her enough to know that she wasn't ready for that. He knew that she was still taking their relationship slowly and he wouldn't do anything to hurt her. Just knowing that made Muskaan love him even more. And with that she closed her eyes once again dreaming of him.
That was chapter 5. I kind of like it and don't like but that's me. Anyway I hope you all enjoy it. Let me know how it was and I apologize for any errors. Index and Pm info is on page:1.
