Chapter 18

Asad was coming to his room from washroom with the help Prasad when Zoya barged into his room. He looked at her curiously as she came to his room intentionally after one week. Zoya was fuming inside but controlled her anger and plastered a smile on her face looking at Prasad.

"How are you Madam?" Prasad asked her.

I am fine, Prasad. How are you and how is your family? Zoya asked him.

"All are fine Madam." Prasad said with a week smile.

"Okay I am leaving now. Take care of yourself Sir. If you need anything then please call me" Prasad was saying this to Asad.

Asad nodded and took the laptop on his lap, half lying on the bed.

Zoya smiled to Prasad and after he left she turned to Asad, who was typing something in laptop furiously with astern face. He anger boiled up again.

"What are you doing? What are all these Mr. Khan?" Zoya asked him with her enraged tone.

Asad did not answer her back instead his working speed increases. He decided to ignore her; she had to know that how it feels to be ignored. He had a devilish smile inside of his head.

Zoya came near him and snatched the laptop from him and said

"I am talking to you, Mr. Khan. Answer me"

Asad again avoid her and tried lie straight on the bed moving his back to her.

Zoya kept the laptop with a loud sound to irritate him but he did not budge. Her anger now had no bounds.

"What the hell are you doing? You know it is important to keep yourself stress free and be careful about every step for the betterment of your health. You are supposed to stay at hospital but you wish to stay home. Because of your stubborn wish doctor sent you home. That's why we support you in every way possible. We all are tried to look after you. But it looks like you don't want to be well soon. You want to give us pain intentionally. You want that we cannot live in peace for a moment. You know what Mr. Khan now I think you should not deserve our care. You don't respect our feelings. In these days I thought probably I was wrong at first but I am not. You are a heartless man. You never care anyone's feeling yesterday and not today. Are you like this in your childhood also Mr. Khan? How your Abbu resisted you, with your so much stubbornness"...Zoya lashed on him, her anger was not controllable and she was cut by Asad's roar

"Stop, just stop you right there. I don't want to hear another word from your mouth about that man and get out my room."

Zoya was startled at the first with his sudden outburst and then realization dawn upon her. In anger she did something which was not supposed to say. She knew Asad did not like to hear his father's name from anyone. He hates him. She wanted to hurt him but not in this way. Guilt washed over her, what have she done?

But Asad spat again with his gritted tone

"Get out from my room before I lose my control."

"Mr. Khan, I am..." Zoya pleaded to him. Her eyes becoming moisten with ushered tears.

"I said get lost, right now" Asad shouted and turned his back to her.

Zoya wiped her tears with the back of her palm and ran from his room. She thought she would fix with him, tell him about her fear, give him the explanation he wanted but she ended up with hurting him. At last her fear resurfaced and came true. She locked her room door behind her and cried out. Today she wants to cry her heart out for all her ill-fate.

Nazma and Dilshad stood at the hall astound. Their plan not only backfired but also made the situation worsen. They eavesdrop on the Asad's door to know what was happening. Dilshad sat on the chair, defeated. Nazma comforted her.

"Maybe I was over thinking about this matter. I pushed her there." She told in a lower tone.

"No, Ammi. I am sure Zoya also like Bhaijaan, she acknowledge about it at the hospital" Nazma blurted.

Dilshad looked at her with a shocked face. Nazma nodded and told her everything what she heard that night at hospital.

"But now what will we do? This matter should be sorted out immediately." Dilshad was excited again.

"I think Ammi we should not do anything here. Left them in their terms, they will fix it with time. You just go and comfort Bhaijaan, he is hurt now" Nazma gave her suggestion.

Dilshad looked at her in awestruck. She smiled at Nazma and patted her cheek.

"You are really a big girl now. So mature and sensible, Thank you and I am proud of you my bachchi" Dishad said to her with teary eyes.

Nazma smiled and said, "If it is about thank you then I should thank you and Bhaijaan"

Dilshad nodded and made her way towards Asad's room. She did not know how will he react but she should be by his side at this time. Then she needs go to check Zoya also.

Asad was furious would be an understatement when he heard her to say about that man.

"How dare she tell it without knowing anything about it?" Asad was thinking about it and trying to control himself from breaking anything. He only knew how he controlled himself when Zoya said him that last sentence. If there was anyone else he would strangled him/her right there.

His room door opened again and he knew his Ammi was there.

"Please Ammi, not now. I am very much angry and I will misbehave with you. Please leave me alone for sometimes." Asad pleaded to her.

"You promise me you will be okay, only then I will go from here." Dilshad sobbed.

"Yes, Ammi, I promise you." Asad chocked.

Dilshad patted his back and left the room making her way to Zoya's room.

Zoya was crying loudly when Dilshad knocked at her door.

"Zoya beta, please open the door, I need to talk to you and don't say no otherwise I will stand here until you open the door." Dilshad told her knowing that she will not open the door. Zoya reluctantly went and open the door. As soon as Dilshad entered the room she hugged her tightly and said

"I did not mean anything, Ammi. I don't know what was wrong with me. I was angry and flew away with it"

"I know. Don't worry about it. It will be alright. He is hurt right now but he will be okay" Dilshad pacified her.

"I did it again, Ammi. He is hurt because of me again. What will I do with my ill-fate?" Zoya was telling her.

"Zoya I told you thousand times before that it was not all your fate. Just stop this ill-fate fact; we make our fate by our hand. It is about choosing. If you want to choose it as ill then of course it will be ill, if not then it will be fine. Just stop blaming yourself all the time. I am tired to make you understand it" Dilshad chided.

"Now, no more words; go and change then come for dinner. Don't you dare to tell me no with anything" Dilshad said to Zoya looking she was trying to protest.

"Okay" Zoya said sheepishly. "

"Did he take his meal? He had to take his medicines" Zoya again asked Dilshad, biting her lower lip.

Dilshad nodded her head in negative and said "Don't worry, he will take it only when his anger will melt."

Zoya was tossed and turned in her bed. Obviously she could not sleep with guilt in her mind. She tried many times to gather courage and go to his room to say sorry. But it seems impossible now. Two days had passed but Asad was not ready to talk to her. He avoided her every possible way. He had busied himself even in the weekends. He never gave her a chance to explain why she said that to him. Damaged had been done and he was in full mood of Jahapanah sense. She was frustrated to the core. She never tried for anything in her life.

Zoya even wanted help from Dilshad but she refused her saying that she should give more try.

"Aaagghhh...Mr. Jahapanah...you don't know me yet. I will irritate you so much that you must talk to me" Zoya said, exasperatedly.

She looked at the clock of the side table and it reads 2 am. Defeated from sleep she made her way to the dining hall to have water.

When she was returning for her room she heard some unusual sounds. She thought there must be thief and took the vase from the table. She tried to understand where the sounds were coming from. She tip-toed to the source and realized it was coming from Asad's room.

She opened his door screaming Thief! Thief and turning on the light. But what she saw made her blood cold.

Asad was shaking on the bed and gasping. He was in dream and he clutching one of the pillow tightly, hitting his legs on the bed continuously. His face became white and it was clear that he was having bad dream. He tried to say anything but nothing coming from his mouth except..ga...ga...ra...

Zoya remembered what Dilshad told her what doctor said about his bad dream... "Anything can work as a trigger and can cause mental pressure."

Zoya ran to him and shake him badly and told loudly

"Mr. Khan? Wake up? Nothing is happening. It is a bad dream Mr. Khan. Wake up. But Asad was not listening to her instead his forehead was sweating and gasping badly for air.

Zoya again pushed him with her all might. "Mr. Khan!! Please open your eyes. All is fine, look at me."

Asad's moisten eyes fluttered open. He was trying to regain his sense but fear was there. Zoya gave him water and he drank it quietly.

After that she was grabbed roughly and landed on his bed. Asad hold her had tightly and stared at nothing. After a few seconds, Asad hiccupped loudly with his shaky voice, "he wanted to kill me; he always wanted to kill me."

"Who?" Zoya blurted.

"Rashid Ahmed Khan!!" Asad said. Zoya was numb at that moment. She knew Asad is not in his sense so avoid this topic.

"Shhh...Mr. Khan. It was a bad dream; no one wants to kill you." Zoya said to him with a shaken voice but Asad did not believe her. He was not in his sense and kept saying the one sentence. She placed his head on her lap and stroked his hair lightly.

"You try to sleep. I am here. No one can harm you when I am here. I promise you." She said to him with a determined tone.
