Chapter 24:

Taani just stood there with an annoyed expression on her face. Humph, Sharing room with Maya. God, Great. She sighted and ran her hand through her hair and massaged her scalp by her fingers. The slight headache was there. She opened her cupboard and changed her outfit. Since, Maya was sleeping on one side of bed, Taani settled on other side. As soon as, her head hit pillow, her eyes closed swiftly. Her muscles began to relax and she surrendered to sleep.

Rey was just out of steamy shower. He yawned and jumped on bed. His cell was flicking the light which was indicating message. He quickly opened it. It was from Sharon.

Sharon:

Hey dudo, wats up? I called Steve. He told me, you got prob. Wat it is? I cn't get news here. So, NOW TELL ME.

Rey sighted. He knew, Steve can't lie to Sharon. Actually, no one can. But, this time, the matter was serious. He knew, Sharon will freak out. He took his time to think and then replied.

Hello to you also. :P Nope, not much a big prob. I cn handle. I m in banglore, business function n all. Wbu?

Rey and Sharon chatted for some hours. The last message surprised Rey.

Sharon:

Me n Swayam cumin back 2 India. :* In sum 2 weeks, see ya. Gotta go. :D

He took a deep breath. Two weeks. Now, he is going to be in trouble. Surely, Sharon is going to kill him for not telling this matter. Before two weeks, he needs to find the culprit of such a cheap game. He dialed Steve's number. They had only doubts on few people. But, Steve can't exactly tell. Rey was getting frustrated. After the talk with Steve, he lie on bed, looking nothing particularly at celling.

Every time, mention of that matter, makes Taani completely distant from him. Like, she is trying to make a space between them. Taani is a talkative person. She is not from those person, who prefer akward silence. But, in plane, she was unusually quiet. They were having small talks, but not like normal. There was something which Rey was missing.

After having some four to five hours sleep. Taani sat on her bed and stretched. She looked at her side, Maya was violently typing on her cell screen. Taani raised an eyebrow at her but then shrugged.

"Hi, sleepy head." Maya looked at her with her perfect smile. Taani just rolled her eyes. She stretched and stepped out of the bed. Taani took her own time in getting fresh.

It was only 6pm.

Taani was sitting on couch, laptop on her lap. Maya's head was still in her cell. Taani was about to save a document. Maya came and stood in front of her. Taani looked up at Maya.

"How can I help you, Maya?" Taani asked. Maya rolled her eyes and started her blabber.

"Listen, I just talked to some of my friends. There is best mall in Banglore..-" Maya was cut of by Taani.

"Look Maya.. I know, we have days. But, this is an important function. If we win everyone's heart, our company will get profit. So, I think, we should start preparing." Taani explained Maya.

Maya rolled her eyes. " Now, you listen to me. I have checked upcoming events. There are some days we have to follow. And, in that we can't only wear professional outfits. And, also.. There is some puja and all stuff. So, you think, we can wear all the time in secretary outfits?" Taani narrowed her eyes on Maya. Maya shrugged.

Taani just shook her head. "You and I don't have any piece of cloth other than professional one. So, will you do the honor of shopping with me?" Maya asked. Taani gave an irritated look.

"You are fashion freak, aren't you?" Taani asked, but Maya ignored her.

"Come on Taani.. Come! Please.." Maya tried to give her puppy look. Taani chewed her bottom lip. She was deciding whether to go or not. Work damn.. it is more important.

Taani shook her head and made busy herself in laptop. Maya huffed, " Fine.. Me and Reeyu will go. You stay here. We will have fun." Maya grinned at Taani and Taani's head snapped at Maya. Maya walked to her cupboard and pulled a dress to wear.

"Wait..I am also coming!" Taani stood up, quickly placing her laptop on table. Maya raised an eyebrow at her.

"Woh.. Rey is also coming??" Taani asked. Maya nodded and shrugged, "Yapp..He is. Actually, he also didn't have idea about this. He forgot to look on these things." Maya told Taani.

Taani nodded and started getting ready.

Rey was waiting for Taani and Maya. Maya had messaged her that today, they were going for some required shopping. He was in hotel's lobby. He remembered the days in Shimala. Taani had to do shopping because of their act. And, those bloody people were raking their eyes on her. Damn, that dress was just for her. Rey himself, couldn't keep his eyes from her. And, then Taani scolded him for acting completely weird. He chuckled to himself as he pictured her face with wide eyes, when he took her in some corner and trapped her.

"Come on Rey.. And, why are you chuckling to yourself??" Maya's voice asked from somewhere. Rey blinked and looked at his right. Maya was approaching him. He just shook his head. Maya came and stood besides him. He looked here and there for Taani. But, he didn't see her.

"Where is Taani?" Rey blurted. Maya shrugged while checking her face in pack mirror.

"Maybe, she is talking to her boyfriend." Maya said. Rey's eyes widen at her statement.

At the same time, he saw Taani coming out from lift. She was busy in her cell.

Means, Maya said was right. She is dating someone? Rey questioned in his mind.

"I will get the car" Maya informed Rey and walked to parking section. Till that, Taani was near Rey. She looked up and smiled slightly at him and again busied herself in her cell.

"Taani..." Rey trailed off. Taani looked up from her cell. "Woh.." Rey scratched the back of his head. Taani was still looking at him.

" You have a boyfriend. And, you didn't tell me??" Rey blurted. Taani froze at her place, her eyes got widen.

"What are you talking, Rey??" Taani asked him with disbelief. Rey saw Maya trying to get his attention by giving the beep of horn of her car. "Let's go." Rey ignored Taani's question and headed towards Maya's car.

Taani followed him. She was confused by his question. Suddenly, she bumped into someone. She looked up to find Rey looking down at her. She came out of her trance and found that Rey was holding the door for her. She bite her lips and murmured sorry and hopped in the car. Rey closed the door after making sure that Taani had settled down. He took backsit.

Taani stripped sit-belt and Maya did too. Maya looked at Taani and smirked.

"So, what did he say??" Maya asked. Taani looked at her with confused expression. "What are you talking about??" Taani asked. Maya rolled her eyes , " Okok.. If you don't want to tell me, what you and your BF talked. That's fine."Maya chuckled and started the car.

Taani shook her head in disbelief and frowned. "What boyfriend? What talk?" She closed her eyes. Now, she is getting it, Maya is again teasing her or irritating her.

"Maya, I don't have any BOYFRIEND. I am NOT dating anyone." She said it a bit loud, her intension was to make Rey hear this. Maya rolled her eyes in response. "Come on Taani, you have to be kidding." Maya teased.

Taani threw a glare. " LOOK.. MAYA. I am not in ANY RELATIONSHIP. Get that in your bean sized brain." Taani couldn't control it anymore. Maya smirked. She turned the steering wheel and pulled car into some road.

Rey was listening the entire conversation. Relief washed through him as he heard what Taani stated. May be, Taani was just checking her phone, He thought to himself.

"Ok.. You don't have boyfriend. But, someone must have proposed you? Hmm??" Maya asked in her sweet tone.

Taani left a huff and crossed her arms. "No... No one!" She answered. "Come on now!" Maya irritated her. Maya was nothing but irritating Taani.

"Yes..." Taani answered. Maya hummed a "Hmmm.. Aheem-Aheem..". Taani just ignored her and looked out. She looked quickly in side mirror. She could see, Rey was looking at her. The moment, she looked in side mirror, the reflection of Rey was staring back at her. Rey also could see her face through side-mirror. She couldn't read his expression. But, his eyes were on her.

"So.. who proposed you?" Maya asked her. She was driving and irritating Taani, simultaneously. Taani turned and looked at her.

"Don't you know, No talking while driving." Taani warned Maya. Maya shrugged, " Babes.. Chill. I am safe driver. You are avoiding my question. He must be Hawt." Maya answered. Taani rolled her eyes. This woman is going to be death of me., Taani thought to herself.

"Come on Taani... Tell na." Maya pressed the topic. Taani sighted and put her head on headrest.

"I was in 5^th standard. He proposed me with paper rose which was taught us in craft period. I take it and told him that he made the rose better than my Bhai. And, my Bhai only knows how to make a perfect rose. My Bhai used to make such roses. So since, he also made it for me. I tied a rakhi on Rakshabhandhan. Now, The End Of The Most Ultimate Love Story." Taani smirked. Rey busted out laughing. Maya huffed and didn't say a word after that.

" You are very smart.." Maya muttered under her breath. "Thank you!" Taani winked at Maya. Rey was watching all this through side mirror and enjoying every bit of it. Suddenly, Taani looked in side mirror. He smiled at her.

Taani smiled back. Taani couldn't help but adore his smile. She blushed at the thought and looked straight.

Maya and Taani were shopping. Every now and then, Rey was whining. Maya tried freaking 15 dresses and she took 3 hours for it. Gosh. Even, Taani was tired. Maya was deciding Taani's clothes also. Rey's shopping was done in less than 1 hour. After some more one hour Taani and Maya's super shopping was done. They were heading towards some restaurant for dinner.

Rey settled the order. Taani and Maya were waiting for it. They booked their sits and started roaming randomly.Since, restaurant was quite packed. "You know, I couldn't do complete shopping today." Maya complained. Rey chocked while drinking water from bottel.

"Please.. I will never ever go to shopping with you. It's horrible experience for me." Rey said and Maya glared at him. Taani suppressed her giggle. Suddenly, Maya shook Taani's shoulder violently.

"Take it easy.." Taani stopped Maya. Maya ignored Taani's comment. She pointed to somewhere, "Look.. Match makers contest hain.. Let's go!" Maya dragged Taani there. Taani didn't have chance to protest. Taani was having doubt, is she really on business trip or on some fun trip? Taani stopped Maya.

"Maya.. I don't like such things. Please, don't force me." Taani said to Maya. Maya sighted. "Taani, it's for fun." Maya grinned at her. But, Taani shook her head. "Ok.. Let's make a deal. After this, I will not irritate you. Pakka promise??" Maya gave her puppy eyes. "Promise?" Taani asked, she was unsure about it. Maya grinned at her and nodded.

Taani looked back, expecting she will see Rey. But, she couldn't see him anywhere. Maya and Taani understood the game from the anchor. There are some boys and girls, their names will be put on chits. The bowl will be juggled and then, one by one boy and a girl will come and take a chit from bowl. The name in the chit will be partners.

Maya got partnered with some boy. Taani also. Taani had no mood in playing this silly game. But, Maya was so much persistant. Taani don't like doing fun while working. But, since right at the moment, they are not professionals. She didn't have choice. The first task was dancing with each other.

Taani's partner was pretty decent. They were dancing on some random song. He didn't even make a move on her. Some boys were doing it. But, some were also not. Taani was finely comfortable with him. She looked around. She saw, Rey coming from some shop of Apple . He was on the phone. He stood there talking on the phone. Yet, he didn't see Taani.

Rey was having problem with his i-pad. Maya dragged Taani pointing towards something. Since, both can handle, he left a message to Maya that he needs to see something. Maya also replied and told him to ring as his work got done. Soon, he sorted out the problem with his I-pad and came back. He got a call from Steve. Steve informed him that Sharon had called him and asked him to book tickets for her and Swayam. Rey instructed Steve. He sighted and cut the call. He came where he left Maya and Taani. He stood there and scanned the place.

First he found, Maya dancing with some random guy. He looked confused. Maya spotted him and waved him. "What's going on?" He mouthed her. Maya pointed towards the banner, Match-Making. He rolled his eyes and chuckled at Maya. Then, he scanned the crowd again.

His body froze at where he was standing. He spotted her. Finally, spotted her. Taani was talking to the guy and She was smiling at him. Rey didn't waste a single minute. He walked towards Taani. She hadn't seen him yet.

Taani asked some random questions to the guy. He already have a girlfriend. Just to tease her, he is participating in the contest. He pointed towards the crowd where she was standing. She looked at Taani and winked. Taani laughed. She saw as some guy approached his girlfriend. Taani looked at her partner and saw his expression. He shook his head towards his girlfriend. Taani laughed at him.

"Taani.."

She froze. She turned and Rey was standing in front of her. " We need to talk, it's about work." Tanni nodded and told the guy that she has to go. Rey told Taani to follow him.

Taani and Rey were standing in parking section, near Maya's car.

"Rey.. Kya hua??" Taani asked.

Rey looked at her and took a deep breath. Taani knew, something majorly was wrong. Before, she could ask, Rey started.

"Taani.. What you were doing?" Rey asked her bluntly.

"Rey woh.. Just Maya ne..." But, Rey cut her. " Maya ne? What? She told you to come and participate in contest and you followed her right." Taani opened her mouth to say, but Rey snapped at her.

"Taani.. Mujhe samjh nahi ata.. Can't you think by yourself?" He asked her. Taani was taken by his question.

"What??" Taani asked. " Look Taani.. Maya kahegi.. Kudo. (Jump) from 13^th floor. You will do it?? Can't you decide what is good for you and what is not??" Rey hissed at her angrily.

"Wait a minute Rey, what do you mean? Yes, Maya forced me. But, at last I agreed..-" Rey cut her again.

"Taani... Tell me one thing. Tum apne liye mushkile badhana accha lagata hain?? Huh??" Rey glared at her.

"Rey, come to the point. What the hell do you mean? And, what I did wrong??" Taani was getting irriatated. For what ,he was accusing her. Why he was so mad? She can't figure it.

Rey chuckled humorlessly." Ok.. I am directly coming to the point, you know this is unknown city for you. You don't know a damn thing about this city. Still, you prefer dancing with a stranger? Seriously? Now, you get it.. What I am saying? What if that guy.." He stopped in mid-sentence, he closed his eyes for some second and opened it, " You know Taani, if anything happens to you.. I can't handle it."

Taani frowned at Rey. "Wait a minute, fine. This is unknown city. I don't know a damn thing about this city. But, wait. That guy was decent. And, what you are trying to imply, that I am weak? " Taani asked. Rey turned and showed his back to Taani. But, Taani marched in front of him.

Tum apne liye mushkile badhana accha lagata hain' She quoted his sentence. " You mean, I am the reason that Rahul forced me. You are saying that because of dancing or wearing short skirt, I am practically attracting men towards me. This is what you mean?? Huh?? Right??" Taani asked, Rey.

Rey shook his head. He is tired of hiding his emotions. He can't see any man near her. In his heart, he has fear, that someone will take her from him. He love her. He can't bear if she leave him. Its his possessive side. It's not, he will lock her. But, there is an insecurity. This a simple silly thing. But, he can't control it. He haven't confessed her yet. There is no confirmation. She was just dancing. No touching. But, the sight made him extremely jealous. People will say, what a possesive jerk he is.

But, he don't care. He is of course possesive. But, the way she was smiling with him, laughing, it never happened with him. They never shared some jokes. Hardly They laughed with each other. Rey could see clearly that she was comfortable with that guy.

"Look..Taani! I didn't mean that. It's just..." He ran his hand through his hair making them messy.

"What? You mean it, Rey. So, I am at the blame. Right? You think about me like this Rey??" Taani asked. Her anger was boiling inside her. She was just having a friendly talk with that guy. Nothing more. But now, she understood his thoughts about her.

"Look Taani.. Don't misunderstood me... I babbled in anger. I just... I care about you. I don't want you to be hurt." Rey told her. This was the also reason, he is possessive.

"What the hell Rey! I don't give a damn. Look, I am not a baby. I appreciate, you saved me from Rahul. From media. You gave me support. But, I am repeating myself. Don't think that I am weak, crying baby. I can handle. And If anything happens to me, It's my look out. I will look by myself. " Taani snapped at him.

" Taani.. whatever bothers you, it also bothers me." Rey hissed at her. Taani frowned at him.

"Nothing is bothering me Rey. I was having friendly dance with that guy. It was my choice. I was comfortable with him. What's the problem with you? And, please. Don't get bothered by me. If I am comfortable or I am not. That's my problem. Why the hell you care??" Taani rasied her voice. Rey was ignited by her outbust.

"What do you mean, why I do care?? Can't you see.." Rey asked her with disbelief.

" I can only see a man who thinks women are weak. There are the reason whatever is happening..."Taani snapped at him.

"What? Taani! God, I am talking about you damn it. Women ..what?? I don't mean that you are weak. It's just that I am making sure that nothing happens bad with you." Rey told her.

"Woha.. But, there is no need. Today, I seriously want to know. Why the hell you care for me? I mean, seriously.. " Taani crossed her arms.

Rey shook his head. Right now, his temper is high and Taani's also. She was breathing heavily. Both are not in state to listen or understand a damn word. This will only increase misunderstanding between them.

" Look.. Taani.. we are going back to hotel. I am calling Maya!" He took out his cell.

"Oh please.. I am not. I am going back.. I am going to continue that bloody contest. And, I will come alone to hotel. And, please... Don't care about me." Taani stabbed her finger in his chest and glared at him.

Rey rubbed his temple frustratingly, Taani was making it more hard. It's best if all goes to hotel and set their mind in place. Taani spun on her heel and started leaving. But, Rey caught her by arm and turned her to make her look at him. His anger, emotions were taking control.

"You want to know right...???" He shook her, his grip tightened on her arm. His grip was going to leave marks on her skin. Right now, his pupils were dilated, those pair of honey brown were almost black. But, Taani didn't flinch. Anyone would have get scared at the current sight of Rey. But, Taani didn't show a single sign of fear. Because, she was not scared. The anger level of Rey and her's was almost same.

"Yes... I want to know." She hissed in her firm but low voice. By her voice, no one will dare to come in front of her. Her voice was complete dead, cold.

Rey didn't appreciate her current behavior. He pressed his lips into thin line and glared at her, " Rey, I am waiting...Say it or I am leaving.." Taani's gaze met his.

He tightened his grip on her arm. His grip was going to cause a blue and red bruise on her arm. "Don't you dare to leave." His voice was calm but cold. A shiver ran down through her spine. The warning didn't go unnoticed by her. " You are not going anywhere. We are heading home. That's final." Rey commanded. That was the last stroke, Taani's anger reached at top. Now, no can handle her outburst. She yanked her arm from his grip.

"Look Rey...Say it or leave it. I don't get what is with you? You are some time softie and then a complete jerk. I am telling you again.. Every minute, where I am? With whom? It's not your business. Is that clear? Actually, why the hell you care?? With..-" Her babble was cut of by him. He roughly pulled by her arm towards him. Taani stumbled little, but, his grip made her stand. His face was inches away from hers.

" I want to know, where are you? I want to know, With whom you are? I want to know,Are you safe or not? I don't want anyone's lusted look on you. I care about you because..." Rey raised his voice. Taani was trying to remove his grip from her arm.

"Because what??" She shouted.

"Because, I love you damn it..." He shouted on her face. Taani's breath hitched. Her body was numb as well as her mind. She was looking at him with wide eyes. She looked at hisr hand which was holding her arm then at him. Rey was just numb as Taani. He didn't know what to think. He was just looking at her face. She looked down at his hand, he didn't shift his gaze from her. He loosened the grip. His hand was on his side. Silence fell between them.

Taani's arm was stinging little. She could feel physical pain. But, her mind was so much numb to feel what her heart was feeling. She didn't know, what is happening with her. She felt something wet near her eyelids then on her cheeks. She blinked her eyes. Her vision was blurry. She let tears fall silently from her eyes.

Rey looked at her teary eyes. He quickly turned from her, showing his back to her. His heart was thudding in his chest. He could feel the thudding in his throat. His breath was rapid. He was catching his breath.

Taani just stood there. Both of them didn't move a single muscle of their body.

"Rey... Taani..." Maya shouted and ran towards them. Taani jumped as she heard Maya's voice. She looked at Rey. He didn't move at all. She gulped and quickly wiped her eyes.

"Where were you both? I was searching for you.." Maya said, as she unlock the car and put shopping bags in car. "Come on.. I took parcel for our dinner. I couldn't find you both..So, I took parcel."Maya closed the door and turned to Taani.

Tanai gulped and just nodded. Maya looked at Rey and walked to him and tapped him on his shoulder.

"Rey.. Come on. Or I am leaving you here." Maya said. Rey just blinked twice and nodded. He walked to car and sat. Taani waited till he closed the door. She looked at ground and sat in car. Maya stood there for minute as she didn't have slightest idea.

"Weird.." She muttured under her breath.

Taani opened the door. Rey was standing there. She gulped and looked at him in his eyes. Those honey brown eyes were staring at her with so much intensity, care and love that she wanted to get lost in them, forever.

Rey cleared his throat. "We need to talk about what happened in Mall." Taani nodded and let him in.

"Hi beautiful, What a pleasant view in morning!"

Taani froze. She couldn't believe her eyes. He was standing here in front of her.

She gulped. "Raaahhull.." She stammered.

" Leave me alone REY!!!" Taani shouted and pushed him away. " I hate you!" She screamed at him and ran out.

"I love you too Rey. I love you too." Taani said,tears were emerging from her eyes.

How's the update?

I don't know, some part is not in proper phase. Like, I think, some thing is missing in that. I am suffering through Writer's block. So may be, because of that chapter is missing something. I will be careful with next chapter.If chapter is completely messed up, please let me know. I will re-edit this chapter.
