ArHi SS: Humsafar
Chapter 4
It just had been only 2 days since she got married but she found herself already in awe of her husband. He always took so much care of her, already made sure that she is comfortable and he respects her mother so much.
A girl, who had her mother only as her family, couldn't be more happier to have such a handsome and thoughtful man as her husband. Khushi felt lucky and blessed to have Arnav by her side now.
As a child, she had seen how her mother was the target of all social jibes and taunts for being a divorcee and a single mother and that somehow always stopped her from opening up to others, to completely trust any relationship and somehow that has been the reason that she had left it on her mother to choose someone for her and never got into any relationship.
Although she had never been into any relationship before, she found Arnav's love and care for her like he already loves her. Before their marriage, their interactions were limited to occasional glances and greetings, even then whenever Arnav looked at her, his eyes were always full of love and longing for her.
She felt like Arnav already know her inside-out whereas she still didn't know much about him and that made her worry. What if she cannot love him the way he loves her and takes care of her?
She snapped out of her thoughts as the car stopped to a halt and Arnav announced "We have reached."
She looked out of the window expecting to see a very beautiful and page-3 kind of place but was surprised to see that they were in outskirts of Delhi, their car parked to a place surrounded by many mango and neem trees.
Surprised she turned to look at Arnav who stepped out of the car and ran to her side to open the door for her. He had left his coat, tie and waistcoat in the car. His shirt's sleeves were rolled up making him look sinfully handsome and extremely charming. Bringing his hand forward, he looked up at her hopefully.
As Khushi caught his hand and stepped out of the car, Arnav smiled and locked the car before looking at his watch.
He caught her hand, steering her towards a hill area which was not far from where they were standing "Thank god we reached on time."
Khushi who now was walking behind him couldn't help herself from asking "Arnavji, where are we going?"
"You will see that soon." Arnav replied, turning to look at her and smiling mysteriously.
They kept walking in silence, with Arnav saving her from getting bruised by the wild shrubs and plants that surrounded the area.
Soon, they walked into a clear, muddy field, bringing them to an edge of the hill. At the farther end of it, there was a big, wide banyan tree whose branches were spread to the most of the field, giving a temporary shelter from the harsh rays of the sun and creating a halo.
A wide circular expanse of bricks was built around the trunk of the tree for anyone to sit and relax under the refuge of the tree. They walked towards the tree.
Khushi gasped as she looked ahead and found that she could see the half of the Delhi from here. The view was so beautiful and enchanting that Khushi kept standing there, looking at the view in daze.
The place was so far away from the hustle-bustle and noise of the city still it looked so near to it. As she felt a tug at her hand, she looked sideways to see Arnav already sitting and looking up at her.
"Sit down Khushi." Arnav said quietly making Khushi sit beside him.
"This is so beautiful, Arnavji." Khushi said, pointing to the view in front of them.
"I know. I was 10 years old when I came here with my family for picnic for the first time." Arnav explained, smiling at Khushi.
They stared at each other. Khushi's eyes held so many questions that Arnav couldn't help himself from smiling "You can ask questions from me, you know."
"Okay so why are we here, Arnavji?" Khushi asked, smiling sheepishly.
"I want to show you something but I am waiting for the right time. By the way, what you actually thought when I said that we are going on a date? I bet you thought that I am taking you to shopping or to a luxurious, five star hotel." Arnav said with his eyes narrowed on Khushi.
Khushi gasped, staring at Arnav in shock "How do you know?"
Shaking his head, he turned to look ahead "People's general opinion about what a rich man do for romance. But for your information, I don't belong to that category. If I want to spend some time with you alone, I would rather come here."
"What's so special about this place?" Khushi asked curiously.
"Aah wrong question. Your question should be, what am I doing here Arnav..." Arnav bent his head to Khushi's level, staring directly in her eyes and raising his eyebrows, said "ji."
Khushi blushed and averted her eyes, her cheeks getting warm as Arnav smirked and leaned back.
"Ok so..."Clearing her throat loudly, Khushi started speaking only to be shushed by Arnav, his finger on her lips. Touching her chin gently, he turned her face and gestured her to look ahead.
Following his gestures, Khushi turned to look ahead only to still in shock. The sun was setting resembling more like a ripe mango, the sky taking a red-pink-yellow hue.
But that wasn't what amazed her. The city's view which till now looked normal was bathing in different colors making it look more beautiful, just like a rainbow which fascinated Khushi.
Dumbstruck, she kept staring ahead not noticing how Arnav was staring at her not at the view.
When the sun finally sunk, she averted her eyes to look at her husband, who was staring at her with admiration.
She raised her eyebrows in question silently. Arnav smiled, tucking a strand of hair falling on her forehead behind her ear and answered "You know when you are truly happy, your face glows like I don't know...like you got everything in your life, like you don't have any complaint with your life."
"I don't hold grudges against life, Arnavji. I believe in living each and every moment of life." Khushi said simply.
When Arnav didn't said anything, she inched closer to him cupping his face. Slowly, she pressed her lips on his for a fleeting moment surprising Arnav. She rested her head on his shoulder, holding onto his forearm and whispered in his ear, her warm breath fanning the side of his neck "Thank you for bringing me here, Arnavji."
Now she didn't had any doubt that Arnav loved her immensely. Her husband was head-over-heels in love with her. And if being honest to her soul, she admitted that somewhere she has started loving him back.
Not like the way he love her but yes she loves him now as her husband, as the most thoughtful, loving and caring person she had ever known.
She didn't had any idea exactly when she will start seeing him as the ultimate love of her life, but she was looking forward to that moment.

After that, they drove back into the city. As Khushi once again witnessed the car taking a new route, she turned to Arnav and said "Arnavji, where are we going now?"
"To have our dinner, of course." Arnav replied, shrugging his shoulder casually.
"But we can go home and have dinner with our family too, you know." Khushi pointed out.
"Are you getting bored with me, Khushi?" Arnav asked, his eyes focussed ahead on road. But Khushi didn't miss how his hand tightened on the steering.
"What??? No no no, Arnavji. I thought you must be tired, that's why I said that." Khushi quickly rushed to explain herself. Arnav closed his eyes after hearing her answer, relaxing a bit.
Arnav didn't say anything after that, quietly driving the car while Khushi kept stealing glances at him.
Their car stopped in Connaught Place, in front of a small dinning place. As Arnav got out and rushed to open the door for her, Khushi stepped out and read the name Annapurna.'
"I know it's not a big place but I like eating here." Arnav said with a smile as a man dressed in casuals came towards them and gestured them to follow him.
As they passed through the peoples, Khushi saw the happiness on their faces making her smile. Her husband wasn't definitely the person who liked to flaunt how rich he is. He was just a simple guy.
Now she felt stupid about all the thoughts that had taken place in her mind when she got to know that she is marrying the CEO of AR Designs.
She assumed him to be a rich, arrogant person but he was just a simple, down-to-earth guy.
Can her married life be more surprising?
As they reached to the terrace, Khushi's eyes widened seeing a table arranged for two peoples to dine together. Rose-scented candle was lit in the middle as the sole source of light, giving the whole setup a rather mysterious and romantic look.
The whole setup was simple but still Khushi found it so special and loving that her eyes misted. She leaned onto Arnav as the man who was guiding them left.
Patting her hand, Arnav led her towards the table pulling out the chair for her. As they both sat down, two waiters came placing few dishes on the table and left.
With curiosity, Khushi opened the lid of covered dishes and saw every Indian dish she loved was there. Arnav served her dinner silently and smiled "I know these dishes are your favourite."
"How?" It was all Khushi managed to speak out, deeply touched by his gesture.
"I asked your mother when I met her today." Arnav said simply as he started eating. When Khushi kept looking at him, sitting there like a statue, he looked up amused and caught her hand resting on the table "Khushi, Breathe."
She stirred, inhaling deeply following his order. The entire dinner passed with Arnav and Khushi stealing glances at each other while eating. As they stood up to leave, Arnav couldn't help himself from pulling Khushi closer.
He was about to kiss her when Khushi grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him down, already kissing him, the kiss initiated with overwhelmed love she was feeling for her husband.

As Khushi turned to close the door of their room, she gasped as Arnav's hand covered her, closing the knob of the door.
Slowly, he turned her around trapping her effectively between him and the door. Khushi looked up and saw how Arnav's eyes darkened, his hands fisting her saree's pallu.
As Arnav brushed the pallu off her shoulder and leaned in to kiss her neck, she strained her neck sideways giving him more access.
Placing moist kisses on her neck, Arnav picked her up walking towards the bed not stopping for a moment. Khushi arched her neck, her hands fisting his hair.
As Arnav placed her gently in the middle of the bed, Khushi spread her arms welcoming him in her embrace making Arnav smile.
He drew her up a bit, their lips meeting for a kiss that spoke only one emotion- love.
God, I hope that I didn't messed up this update..clearly romance is not my forte
