Chapter 9

Aakash reached office asap so that he can answer his brother's doubts.

When he entered conference room he saw arnav positioned on his chair with his eyes glued on the screen waiting for the CD to start.

Aakash sighed Iam not late he thought he will wait till arnav's watches the whole cd and see his reaction.

The footage played starting with arnav's speech, followed by anjali's entry and the models started doing ramp walk.

Till now everything perfect as he had planned, suddenly a girl entered all nervous in her green attire, though the theme was red.

Who's that girl, arnav tried to catch her face but the camera was not focused on her face, and then she was pushed towards the ramp.

Arnav jerked from his seat, what the f... what is she doing in this show, he saw khushi walking nervously on the ramp with fear on her face and tears in her eyes, he culdnt believe his eyes, suddenly her legs slipped and she fell into his arms, he watched the whole scene in front of his eyes, he was speechless, he saw himself staring at her holding her in his arms, her face innocent and full of fear, her lips quivered.

He culdnt understand what is happening and then he saw him pushing her down from his arms and she left crying.

He switched off the CD, Aakash was waiting for his reaction. Arnav turned around and saw Aakash standing behind him with a serious face.

Aakash, can you care to explain, what is all this? What is khushi doing in this show.

Woh... bhaii...Aakash please don't make any excuses, I want my answers right now.

Ok bhai I will tell you everything, actually khushi had accidently landed in the lucknow show, due to some confusion she entered the ramp.

Aakash explained each and every detail to Arnav, how she had come to meet her future jijaji to discuss dowry matters, but it didn't happen n she fell into this mess.

And then... what happened arnav asked?

Woh... bhai... tell me Aakash, he raised his voice.

Bhai you thought that she purposely did this to spoil our show and she has been sent by someone to create this mess, hence you didn't let her go and ... and payal's alliance broke.

Arnav was speechless, so much happened and he don't remember anything.

Aakash: After that incident lot of problems occurred in lucknow and they shifted to delhi to their buaji's house and that is when she joined AR for job.

Bhai plss forget all this its in the past and it was just a misunderstanding, end of the day it didn't effect our show.

Aakash, I want to be alone, you leave I will come later, bhai... are you sure bhai.., yes aakash I will join you at home.

Khushi was pacing restlessly in her cabin, when aakash came.

Jijaji what happened, what did he say, is he angry on me, is he disturbed?

Khushiji relax, I told him everything and he asked me to leave him alone, trust me he will be alright.

Khushi was not pleased with aakash's answer, hence she thought of checking whether arnav is alright.

Arnav was lost in deep thoughts, he was disturbed, why everything happened in past has some or the other thing related to khushi.

Khushi was involved in each and every aspect, she was always in his thoughts, in his nightmares, he is feeling a pull towards her, what is it?

That means I know her from past 18 months, she was there in my life for so much time, and why I feel connected to her, is there something which I don't know.

Khushi entered his cabin, to check whether he is ok, ASR... ASR...

Yes come in he barked, he saw her entering his cabin, khushi was scared, whether he will take all his frustration on her.

ASR... I thought I mean I finished for the day, soo... can I leave.

Arnav stared at her, his gaze fell on her eyes, and there was something which was unspoken, she didn't understand what he wanted to convey.

There was ultimate silence in his cabin, arnav thought for a while and decided to speak to let it go at once.

Khushi I need to talk to you, come in have a seat. Khushi was confused, what does he want to say she thought.

She sat nervously on the chair fidgeting with her duppata.

Woh... I...Aakash told me everything what happened in Sheesh Mahal.

Iam.. Iam extremely sorry, becoz of me payal's marriage... I mean...

Arnavji please... she said, you don't have to say anything, it all happened in past and you had already apologised to Jiji for it before her marraige to aakash jijaji.

And it was an accident which was unintentional, so no need of sorry and either which ways if that wuldnt have happened, jiji wuld not have got a good life partner like Aakashji, so all is well that ends well she said with a smile on her face.

Arnav didn't know why, but he felt nice after seeing a smile on her face, she looks so cute when she smiles he thought.

Arnavji, please you don't think about it much and disturb yourself.

I know khushi, but you had also gone through a lot due to my anger, Iam really sorry for that.

Arnav was surprised by himself that he is apologizing to khushi like this, but he felt that this is the right thing to do.

Ok arnavji I will leave, I have promised lavanyaji to join her to shantivan.

Ok... he said, he thought for a while and called her, khushi...

Khushi jolted, he still had so much effect on her, that even now the way he called her always sent shiver down her spine, she got goosebumps all over.

She turned around, unable to look into his deep brown eyes, mmm... I... thought, Iam also leaving so... you can join me if you are going to shantivan.

Arnav didn't know why he said that, but something made him to ask her whether he can drop her to shantivan.

Khushi culdnt believe her ears, he was asking her to join him in his car, she waited so long for this, she was trying hard to control her tears.

Arnav: Dont get me wrong, its just that since we both are going to shantivan, why don't we leave together, he said.

Ok... Arnavji, I will just take my bag and come, she left with a smile on her face.

Arnav didn't know why, but he felt nice that she agreed to come with him.

He was waiting for her leaning on to his car, when she arrived with her bag taking slow steps, he saw nervousness on her face.

When she reached the car, he opened the front door for her, all the memories flashed in front of her, she sat inside with a smile on her face which pleased him, he moved towards his seat.

She was lost in thoughts, remembering all her past rides in his car, how he used to force her to drop her home, how he used to get angry and tell her to get out of his car in middle of the road. She remembered how she had told her jiji, that she will not go with him as he will again tell her to get out of his car, she was so lost that he had to literally shook her to come out of her dreamland, khushi... she jerked and asked ha..., put your seatbelt he said. Haan... she was trying to pull it but again as usual due to nervousness, she was not able to pull it, and he did it for her leaning towards her front, his gaze falling on her face, his hot breath caressing her face, he was so close to her that his proximity created havoc in her senses.

He could feel her chest heaving, her fast heartbeat and his heart joined the rythm. They came out of the trance and left the place, on her way she called lavanya and told her to join her directly at shantivan to which lavanya agreed.

The whole journey was silent, and it was killing him inside, he knew how chirpy she was and wanted her to talk, hence he broke the silence.

Mmm... so you and lavanya jell well ha... Iam surprised, not that it is weird, but I know how lavanya was she was this wanna be types always in her Hi-Fi world so how did you manage to be friends with her.

Khushi smiled, I know initially Lavnayaji used to hate me but later on as time passed by we became good friends, and today I can say that she is my best friend whom I can always depend on during hard times.

Arnav smiled, seeing the excitement on her face while talking about lavanya, so... you knew about mine and lavanya's relation? He asked. Khushi became silent, suddenly the smile left her face and arnav felt weird.

Ya...aa I knew, actually anjaliji told me, she managed to say.

So being her best friend aren't you angry on me, that I didn't agree to marry her.

Khushi was lost for words, what will she say? She thought. Actually... Its your life, and you know what you are doing who am I to say what is right or wrong for you. Ya initially I felt bad for lavanyaji... but when I heard her perspective, I felt that in long run it will be good for both of you.

Arnav was impressed with her answer, she is so understanding and mature he thought, he liked her don't know why but he liked her.

They reached Shantivan, where lavanya was waiting for khushi to come. When lavanya saw khushi coming with Arnav, she felt nice that slowly the distance between them is getting reduced.

Lavanyaji aap andar kyon nahi gayi, I was waiting for you chamkeeli...

Hi lavanya, hey ASR.

So chamkeeli, lets go..

Wait..what's this chamkeeli lavanya, please it sounds so weird, she has a beautiful name call her khushi no.. saying this he moved towards the door.

Lavanya whispered in khushi's ears, so hubby is all getting annoyed on wifey's nick name haaa.. she giggled, khushi pinched her, lavanyaji... she blushed.

Ok... ok... Khushi lets go.

They knocked and HP opened the door and surprised, Lavanyaji.. aap?

Anjali saw lavnaya and screamed, OMG lavanya what a surprise, how r u? Na koi phone na koi news, You didn't call also?

Arnav was surprised to see such bonding between lavanya and his family.

Khushi noticed far away a man drooling over lavanya with a smile on his face. Nanhe ji hum bhi hai yahan, she teased him and he got nervous.

Anjali hugged khushi, good you came khushiji we all were missing you.

Lavanya gave gifts to everyone and met payal. Sorry payaL I culdnt make it to your marriage, but here is a small gift for you and aakash.

Koi baat nahi lavanayaji aap aai humein khushi hui.

I will make tea for everyone, saying this she moved to kitchen, jiji I will also help you, khushi said.

Arnav went to his room for changing, Anjali noticed that and asked lavanya, lavanya you have not told chotey anything no.

No di khushi had already informed me so I was careful, though I let him no we had a break up as it was important otherwise it would have been difficult for khushi.

Anjali smiled, Miss Kashyap aap bohot samajhdaar ho gai hai, Iam happy to see you like this.

Its all becoz of khushi naaniji and the love you all gave me it changed my overall perspective.

Iam glad miss kashyap, dekhna ek din aapko bhi aapka man chaha jeevan saathi zaroor milega, lavanya blushed.

Maami noticed somebody else was also smiling like anything, she was just watching NK smiling looking at lavanya, when khushi tugged her, kya kehti hai maamiji, nanheji is all drooling over lavanyaji baat pakki kar de?... she asked.

Maami and khushi had a laugh, let see where this goes phati saadi, we will have to wait its too early.

Everybody was having small chat with lavanya, when somebody ringed the bell, Anjali opened the door, oh hi Armaan you have come at the right time.

Armaan entered inside the house to see a group of ladies and a guy alone, oh so is there a get together something anjali.

Anjali smiled no no armaan, actually meet Lavanyaji, she is chotey's friend who has come back after a long time she was in London.

Lavnayaji, this is Dr. Armaan, he is chotey's doctor, oh hi Dr .she greeted, plss call me armaan doctor sounds too formal.

Arnav came down from his room, to see who came and why there is so much of noise.

Oh hello doctor, he greeted armaan.

Arnav, I have told you call me Armaan, I like to have a friendly relation with all my patients, you see Iam a psychatarist and I cannot treat a patient unless and until I don't understand him as a friend.

Arnav smiled and said, no problem Armaan.

Anjali: I think you have not met our family properly, so this is naani, namaste naani, he greeted, Namaste bitwa aap aaye humka khushi hui.

This is maami and our cousin NK, oh hi NK I hve met you in Hospital it seems , ya you are right Armaan.

This is Payal, Aakash's wife and this is Khushiji, her sister.

Ohhh so you are khushi, have heard a lot about you from anjali, Hi Iam armaan he gave his hand, khushi shook his hand with a smile.

By the way, you have a cute smile just like your name.

Arnav didn't feel good about his comment, he didn't know why but he felt irritated, the way armaan was talking to khushi, which didn't go unnoticed by Armaan, so he thought of provoking him a little.

Armaanji, please sit, have some tea with us, arnav didn't like that.

Oh no khushi, actually Iam here to see arnav, so I will have a chat with him.

Arey aise kaise, aap pehli baar aaye hai, I will not leave you without having tea.

Arnav was now fuming, khushi I have something important to discuss with Armaan, If you don't mind can I take him with me? he said sarcastically.

Anjali: Chotey, this is not fair, Armaan is our guest don't be so rude all the time.

Di please I have something important to discuss, so you send the tea in my room.

Armaan: He is right anjali, I will have tea with Arnav, anjali didn't like the way arnav behaved.

Please come Armaan, Arnav said.

Arnav took Armaan to his room.

Armaan: So yoy are quiet different from others I must say.

Arnav: Why did you say that?

Looking at your room I can make out, see Iam a psychiatrist, I can read peoples mind.

So what did you notice different in my room, arnav asked.

The colors of your room mostly grey, black or white, it states that you are not a colourful person, rather quiet and gloomy.

There is a pool outside your room, still and quiet, says you don't talk much.

Arnav smiled, there are many people who have pools at their home, that doesn't mean they are quiet generally.

You are right, armaan said, but i felt that you like to spending time at the pool when you are alone thinking about something or rather someone he said with a cunning smile.

I think you are thinking too much armaan.

Its my job, armaan said. But Iam surprised to see one more thing, what arnav asked.

This garden of yours, you have a good taste of gardening, I can say its a beautiful garden, thanks arnav said.

Armaan: So arnav, getting to the point, what is that you wanted to discuss with me?

Actually, Armaan, its about these weird nightmares which Iam getting since few days.

Armaan: Nightmares???? As in what, what is it related to?

I don't know... I got this nightmare for 2 3 times now, I can see One man holding a gun towards a girl, she is screaming my name, I want to save her, but some goons have grabbed me and are stopping me to go near her, and then suddenly that man pushes her of the cliff and she falls from the cliff screaming my name, then I get up from my sleep screaming one name.

Hmmm... so what is that name you scream, and who is that girl? Do you remember her face.

No that is the biggest problem, I cant recollect her face, I can hear only voices and the name which I scream while getting up is... he paused...its khushi.

Armaan observed Arnav's face carefully to catch his reaction and saw a confused expression on his face.

Mmm.. So khushi right, I think I have heard this name, Arnav was quiet.

Ohh is that the same girl, whom I met down, aa... Payal's sister right... Arnav nodded in approval.

Weird, armaan said, why are you screaming her name? I mean do you know her that much, are you related to her.

Arnav was surprised, he didn't know the answer, but ya he has always felt connected to her, related to her, I don't know Armaan he said.

See arnav, from what I can make out from your dream is that it may be an accident which you have come across and seems like khushi is related to it.

I cant say anything, becoz even I don't know your past, its only you who can recollect it but at the same you have to be careful that you don't put pressure on your mind, its a sensitive issue.

Let me think, what we can do to recollect that face in your dream.

But what can we do Armaan?

We can conduct a hypnotism session, but its too early to do that, you have just now recovered from your accident, so let it go for now, after few days or may be a month, we can do it.

But Armaan, this nightmare is disturbing me, Iam not able to sleep in peace.

For that I suggest Arnav, you have to take rest, never indulge yourself in unnecessary tensions, less work and more rest and don't worry about it much, its just a nightmare if you get a sound sleep, you will not get it.

Talk to people, I know your not a social person, but enjoy your life have some entertainment in your life, spend time with your family and friends go for outing, Im sure it will help, and for anything else remember Iam always there for you just a phone call away.

Armaan, thats not a solution I mean, Iam not that kind of a person you know, but since you said I will try.

Now that's like my friend, I mean we are friends right? Armaan asked.

See Armaan to be very frank, Iam not a friendly kind of person, but I will try to be friends with you.

Armaan smiled, I know Arnav, but remember one thing, no secrets between friends, you have to share everything with me, since Iam not only your doctor, but also your friend.

Arnav thought for a while should I share my thoughts about khushi with him, no way I myself not sure then what can I tell him.

Hey Arnav, where are you lost? I think I should leave now its too late.

Ahh.. Armaan since you have come have dinner with us no, Armaan smiled some other time Arnav, now I will make a move.

Armaan was coming down with Arnav, when anjali called, Armaan dinner is ready come.

No Anjali, I will leave now, some other time, now that's not fair armaan, you are coming for the first time you should have dinner with us.

Really anjali I will come next time, I have an appointment now so Iam getting late, Anjali thought for a while this late which appointment he is having, anyways why Iam getting tensed, he may have some appointment.

Ok Armaan, If you say so.

Armaan left.

Anjali: Khushiji come lets have dinner, but di...

No excuses dear.

Everybody was at dinner table having small talks with lavanya.

Arnav's eyes were fixed on khushi, he was admiring her smile, the way she talked, the way she was geting excited on lavanya's talks everything, he didn't wanted to stare at her, but it felt nice for him.

Anjali noticed Arnav staring at khushi and asked, mmm... chotey you are not eating what happened any problem, the food is good na? She giigled.

Ya di, food is good.

Ok di, I will leave now its too late, lavanya said.

Lavanyaji I will also come with you, lavanya thought of some excuse, she wanted arnav to drop khushi at home, so she said, actually chamkeeli, I have to meet my friend she is waiting for me at a near by restaurant we will go to her house for stay tonight, so sorry I wont be able to drop you home.

Khushi got tensed, it was late and she didn't know how she will reach home, that's not a problem lavanya, a voice came.

Everybody turned, the voice was none other than Arnav' voice

I will drop khushi home, he said.

Everybody was surprised, though happy.

Khushi got nervous, i...tss... ok I will manage arnavji. Oh... please he said, you think I will leave you to travel alone this late night no ways.

Hmmm... you are right chotey, anjali teases you should drop her home

Arnav left with khushi, and anjali gave a thumbs up to khushi.

Khushi smiled.

The drive way home was silent, Arnav wanted to talk, but didn't know what to say, finally they reached gupta house and then arnav realised, how come he know khushi' house, after accident he has nevr come here still he reached at the correct address. Khushi forgot to notice this fact and was getting down from the car when arnav asked. Khushi have I been to your house before, how come I remember this way.

That's when khushi realised, that he has reached her house without knowing the address. She answered, during jiji's marriage you have come here few times.

Oh ok, anyways, goodnight see you tomorrow in office, thanks arnavji for dropping me home. You are welcome khushi, you don't have to thanks me after all we are family.

Khushi smiled and thought in mind, yes arnavji you are my family.

When khushi reached, suddenly her mobile rang, it was anjali.

Yes di, I reached, what happened you called me?

Woh khushiji, armaan had called me he has asked us to meet at his clinic tomorrow so can you come in the morning.

Di anything serious, is it regaeding arnavji?

Ya it seems, but nothing to worry just he wants to know something that's all.

But di what will I tell arnavji, why Iam not coming office.

Mmm... tell him that I have some important work and I want you to come with me. You don't worry I will talk to chotey.

Ok di even I will call him and take permission.

I think chotey has come let me talk to him. Anjali took permission from arnav, though arnav was restless about khushi not coming to office tomorrow since he is so used to see her around, he agreed to anjali's pleads.

Next day, as decided anjali and khushi reached armaan's clinic. He welcomed him and started discussing about what arnav shared with him.

So khushi, anjali are you aware of something like this happened with arnav.

Khushi became nervous and silent, she looked at anjali who was waiting for her answer, di yes this had happened when shyamji had kidnapped us and I had fallen from the cliff.

Anjali became sad, all her past came in front of her, the disgusting truth about her x husband.

Di are you ok, Iam fine khushiji.

Armaan, this happened due to my... ex..husband. Armaan was shocked, he didn't know that she was married.

Iam sorry to hear that anjali, if you are not comfortable discussing it we will not talk about it, but the fact is that, that dream is disturbing arnav, he is not able to see the face of the girl, he can only remember her screams.

Now I understand, why he screams khushi's name while awaking from his nightmare, the thought of losing her scares him.

Khushi was having tears in her eyes, how she wished if he can recollect everything, he had nightmare about me, but he cant remember my face.

Dont worry khushi, everything will be alright, I think your presence is effecting him, so my decision was proper of keeping khushi around him.

Khushi now everything is in your hands, slowly you will have to remind him small things, the moments which you both spent together, incidents which happened between you both. That is the only way he can come out from this mess.

Khushi and anjali left from armaan's clinic, with lots of thoughts in her mind.
