Chapter 5
Zoya slowly turned around and saw Dilshad was standing there with a tray. She bit her lower lip and answered, "woh ammi...I woh... I am really sorry but I can't live here...I ...woh...he...I mean... last night I and Mr. Khan..."
"I know" Dilshad answered.
"You know...how?" Zoya said. He face was flushed. She was weak till now. So she sits on the couches heaving badly. Dilshad gave her some warm water.
"Where are you going?" Dilshad asked again.
Zoya did not know what Dilshad exactly know about that matter. So she remained silent for a moment. Then said "what he told me last night that was unbearable. I just can't live here Ammi. I am sorry." Zoya cried silently.
"I know you have got hurt and I will not stop you. But beta where will go? I know you can go to any hotel and live there but it is really not safe. I took your responsibility from Anwer and promised him you will be safe here with me. I accepted you not as my daughter in law but as a daughter. If you really think me as your Ammi then please don't leave us. You can live here and fulfill your dream as long as the time it require. I know what Asad did with you is very wrong. You can live with us as my daughter and I promise you that Asad will not disturb you. He will ask you to forgive him. I am not telling this to you as he is my son but he is guilty about last night's incident. Please beta, believe me and please consider my proposal. I know you can manage everything of your own but I really do not want you to leave us. Please." Dilshad said in a lower tone.
"It's ok, Ammi. Of course I believe you but I can't live with him after all that happened. It will take time to forgive him. But now it is impossible to forget everything." Zoya cleared everything to Dilshad.
"I am not asking you to forgive him. I am just telling you to not go anywhere. I am also angry with him. If you don't want to live with him then don't, you can stay at our guest room. From now it will be your room if you want. I know you have a big dream and I want to help you in every possible way. Please beta." Dilshad again pleaded to her.
Zoya sighed exasperatedly. "Ok Ammi. As you wish but please clear him everything about it. I even don't want to talk to him."
"Thank you, beta. You don't need to talk to him. I will tell him everything" Dilshad was relieved.
"You don't need to thank me, Ammi. If anyone needs to thank then it's me. How I am so lucky that get such a nice Ammi like you. I am jinxed. You will regret about it later" Zoya started sobbing now.
"Don't say that beta. It is Allah who tests us throughout our life. Anyone is not jinxed. It is our fate. I will never regret about you. I know you are a gem." Dilshad hugged Zoya and pacified her.
"Thank you, Ammi. That's so sweet of you. By the way how you know about me so well? Oh! Of course Aapi and Jeeju" Zoya smiled softly.
"Yes. Don't worry your secret is with me" Dilshad also smiled.
"And me three, Bhabhi" Nazma reach there for a group hug. She also knew everything about Zoya.
"Please, don't call me "Bhabhi". I am only Zoya to you" Zoya pouted.
"Oh! That's quite cool. Bhabhi is just boring" Nazma winked at Zoya.

Asad reached at Mumbai with his lawyer. He immediately fixed meeting with his clients but alas! Their head was out of Mumbai for two days. He called his privet investigator Habib who was hired by Prasad.
Habib had already found that person who photo shopped his photos. It was very easy for him. Every professional of this field has their unique sign to identify their work. Of course he did not know about the real matter behind these pictures but also signed those as a token for their business. The criminals did not bother to look at these details.
Habib informed all the information to Asad that he had found. Asad told him to email all those details. He also told him to reach Mumbai with that guy as soon as possible. Then he called Prasad to send all the details about the contracts. He needed to change some clauses.
After two days, Mumbai
All the things got sorted out between him and those foreign delegates. They were actually impressed at his determination to this project. Asad actually proved he was not guilty at any cost. The investigator and that photo shopper described their story. Asad also called the doctor at the hospital who confirmed his presence in the hospital that night. The clients understood the entire story and were sorry as they misunderstood him. The contracts was signed again with a new clause that whatever happens in their personal lives will not affect this project.
After all the works were done his lawyer, investigator and that man were left for Bhoopal. Asad needed to stay there for three more days because he had to finalize some sites for another projects of Dilshad Construction.
After three days, Mumbai
After three days he was done with all his pending works. It was his last night at Mumbai. That evening he remembered again about the incident with Zoya. All in haste he almost forgot about his personal problems. Even Dilshad did not call him once as she was angry with him. He immediately called Dilshad.
"Assalam-O- alaikum Ammi,"
"Waleikum Assalam" Dilshad answered happily.
Asad was in shock to be an understatement. Dilshad was not angry on him and she was so happy for some reasons.
"How on the earth this can be possible?" He thought.
This just not happened from last 18 years in their house. They learned to live with a life pretending to be happy in front of each other. But there was always present a tinge of sorrow which everybody accepted gradually. But today his mother laugh represents something else. Something that is heartwarming. He feels her mother just let go her remaining sorrows. She was laughing wholeheartedly. He was overwhelmed. His heart melted and he silently prayed to Allah for her mother's happiness forever and also the reason of her happiness remains intact, rather did he knew Allah had granted his prayer before he prayed for it.
Then he listen a chirpy voice makes some lame shayaries about M.S Dhoni and cracking some jokes over the phone and a roar of laughter followed by these. Not only that Dilshad but also Nazma was so happy with all these. He was lost in his thoughts.
Asad are you there? What happened? When are you returning?" Dilshad asked worriedly and with that everything went to silent on the other side.
"Nothing Ammi. I just wanted to ask about you all are ok or not and I am returning tomorrow" Asad said softly.
"You asked that about five days later? You are that busy? It is good for you" Dilshad told grumpily. She forgot that she was angry with her son at first.
"Ammi, please not again. I know you are well and having very good time without me" Asad complained like a child.
"Yes we are. Do you have any problem with that too" Dilshad told in her stern voice.
"No, not at all. Anyways, I need to go. I will see you tomorrow. You all enjoy. Allah hafiz." Asad finished his conversation.
"Allah Hafiz"
Both of them intentionally avoided about the matter related to Zoya.

"I don't know how to manage her she must be angry with me. Of course she is. Is she okay now? I don't even bother to ask about her health. Uff what was happening to me? Why I am being so irresponsible these days?" Asad again thought about Zoya for umpteenth times for the last two hours after that call.
It was her who made his ammi and sister laugh after such a long period. His heart filled with joy and he wanted to thank her. He turns and tossed many times on his bed in the hotel. He tried many times to dial her numbers but could not gather enough courage to make it.
"First I need to apologize then I can thank her. But what I did that night it will not proper to seek apology over the phone. Ok I will thank her tomorrow." With that resolve he went to shopping mall to buy some gifts for all of his ladies at home. "Well Zoya is not your lady" his head chided. "I know. That's ok. I mean it literally, she is staying my house only," he pacified himself.
After an hour, he was searching some gifts for Zoya. Dilshad and Nazma's gifts were selected and bought readily. He was in a fix about the gifts for Zoya.
Suddenly a voice startled him. She said that she can help. He looked at the face it was covered by a veil but the face was familiar to him, he could not recognize her. So he gave her a half smile and wanted to tell her "No." But she said "it's okay. I have no problem." Before she could do that, she was in his arms by tripping and he recognized her immediately. It was that girl at the hospital.
"What the hell are you doing here? Who the hell are you?" Why you..." he grabbed her furiously, but before he could finish another voice told him "you are under arrest Mr Asad Ahmed Khan for assaulting an woman that too in public."
"Wait what I don't even know her" Asad told the officer with a stern tone.
"We saw everything from right there Mr. Khan, we saw you were smiling to see her then she told something and you forced her to do something." Police officer also told him with the same tone.
"I did not do anything, officer. You saw that from a different angle, even you know nothing what she told me there" Asad said again.
Police suddenly turned to that woman and asked, "What are you telling him, Miss?"
That women burst into tears which astound Asad. "What she was up to, now?" he thought and he got the answer the next moment.
"He had an affair with me. He promised me that he will marry me. Six days before he got married but he spent his whole wedding night with me. He did not tell anything about his marriage to me.
The next day he fled to Mumbai again without telling me anything. My father wants me to get married. I convinced him that I love someone and he will like my choice. So I went to his office and found about his marriage and his whereabouts. I thought he is already married so I give my conscience to my father. But I was feeling very guilty, not telling him about my situation. So, I called him many times. He did not even take my call in fact blocked my call. So I came here to clear everything after all I really love him. But he does not want that I get married. He wants to keep his affair with me secretly. When I said no to him he threatens that he will kill me." She said all the things at one go. She also gave those photos to the officer.
"You...I will kill you for telling those lies" Asad wanted to strangle her there.
Three constables blocked his path and Asad stopped there. He turned to the officer and wanted to say that the photos were not real but the officer said "You can say everything but before you need to go to the police station, NOW."
Asad understood that he has to be calm otherwise the situation will be worsened. If he told about the photos he will not believe him. He wanted to think rationally but all his rational thinking goes to hell when he understood that the incident was covering by the media.
"What the..." He shouted. But before he continued the officer handcuffed him and dragged him from the mall.

It was only 6 pm in the evening. Zoya was munching chips and watching television. Nazma had her last exam the next day and she was doing her study and Dilshad had gone for chatting with some of her neighbors. She skips the channels leisurely when a news flash caught her attention-
"Bhopal ke moshhour businessman Asad Ahmed Khan was arrested in the charge of assaulting his ex-lover."
Zoya was in a fix for few minutes. It was him. They also showed the video with the girl's statement and also their pictures together. She watched the news very carefully and also their picture. They told that he was with her in their wedding night. Her eyes widen with this sudden news and she switched off the T.V. she did not want to upset Nazma before her exam. She made her way to her room to make some calls.
First she called Dilshad and told about everything. Dilshad returned immediately and watched the news on Zoya's I-pad, because they did not warn about it to Nazma.
Dilshad stared at the blank screen after it ended and sat on the bed with a thud. "That can't be happen? He is not his abbu. Believe me Zoya, he can't do that. Ya Allah what will I do now" She whimpered.
Zoya hugged her and pacified her. She had nothing to say.

Asad was in the police station. He tried his best to make them understand about the matter from last two hours but failed. They did not listen anything. Then he said he needed to make a call. As per law he can make one call. So he tried his investigator Habib's number and filled him with his recent situation. Habib said he was coming with the photo shopper and lawyer when they got the news from Prasad. They were coming by road and were about half on their way. Habib said it will take some time so he had to spend that night in the police station. It was only 8 pm and he was frustrated to the core.
At 12.45 am, a constable called him as he dozed off and said him that he got bailed. He thought his lawyer reached as quite time had passed. He was perplexed when he saw another one other than his lawyer, was doing some paper work with the officer. He scanned the whole room and his eyes stuck with a pair of red puffy eyes. He stared at her for sometimes. Then he understood, it was "Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan" who bailed him!!!
