KRIA'S RE-ENTRY OSHe stared into space distractedly. The conversations around him had turned into a low buzz. There wasn't anything abnormal about this. This had been going on for the past week since her engagement. At first he had thought that the feeling he hated most was heartbreak. But now he had changed his mind. The worst feeling in the world was realizing that love was never meant for him. Was it possible to live in a world where love did not exist? Cause that was what he was gonna have to do for the rest of his life!
"Rey!" Sharon Raiprakash snapped her fingers in front of her best friend's face after he did not respond to her sixth shout. Her patience didn't usually last that long but it was different with him. He gazed at her absentmindedly through those melancholic chocolate brown eyes and she longed to pull him into her arms and comfort him like she did when he had lost his puppy at the age of ten. "Rey, VP Sir bula rahe hain," she told him, gently. Without a further question, he simply stood up and walked to the Vice Principal's room listlessly. Sharon stared after him with a sigh.
"Reyaansh I have a task for you," VP Sir said, without beating round the bush. "Boliye Sir," Rey answered, noticing how difficult even a simple action like a normal conversation had become for him. "Humare college mein ek nayi student aane waali hain aur main chahata hoon ki tum usse college dikhao." Rey stared at VP Sir in confusion. Since when did he become a member of the um...Welcoming Committee? VP Sir smiled at him. "Actually her previous experience in college has been quite...um...disastrous. The girl was not very keen to come here and nor was she ready to disclose the reason for her discomfort. So I want to assure her that St. Louis is one of the finest colleges in Mumbai and that she's in good hands." Rey nodded, still confused as to why VP Sir was paying such special attention to this one student. The phone rang shrilly and VP Sir reached to pick it up, giving Rey a final nod. "Thank you Reyaansh." Rey considered this as his cue to leave.
He was walking down the corridor when he heard music coming from the rehearsal hall. He was about to walk away, assuming it was one of his team mates but then he recognized the song. He froze in shock, closing his eyes for a moment. A crystal-clear memory danced behind his closed eyelids. It was the moment when he had witnessed the most phenomenal solo performances. It was the moment when he had realized that angels were not just found in heaven anymore. It was the moment when he had wanted nothing more than to make her his, by hook or crook.
His feet automatically walked towards the rehearsal hall and he pushed the door open hesitantly. The song 'Lose My Breath' was playing in the background. A girl was dancing with her entire mind and soul involved in the song. Although her back was facing him, it took him less than a second to recognize her. No one could dance like that. Her graceful moments were like a swan gliding smoothly over water. Her ebony tresses bounced against her shoulders and she performed impossibly difficult steps with complete ease. She made everything seem so simple and uncomplicated. With a perfect spin, she turned backwards and her eyes pierced into his.
His heart skipped a beat. He had forgotten how utterly stunning she was. Was it possible that she had become more beautiful? Gone were those cute dresses and clips...She was wearing a a pair of white hot pants, revealing her long sexy legs and a short red V-necked blouse which clung to her curves perfectly, enhancing her slim, feminine figure. Her short wavy hair had straightened itself and now fell over her shoulders like a sheen of silk, her fringes falling on her forehead perfectly. Her hazel eyes were wide open in shock, looking innocent and unintentionally seductive. His eyes stopped at her luscious rosebud lips and for a moment he wanted nothing more than to capture her lips and kiss her hungrily. He took a step forward and the memories of that unpleasant night came crawling back to him. It was like a living nightmare. He could hear her callous words swirling in his head. His mind told him to walk out of the room and never see her face again but his feet refused to move and his idiotic heart fully supported this decision.
"Reyaansh." Her voice caused the last of his resolves to crumble. Without a second thought, he literally ran across the room and pulled her into his arms. Her body stiffened at his sudden reaction and then he felt her responding, burying her head in the crook of his neck. She fit into his arms with perfect ease and all of a sudden his jumbled life seemed so perfect. It was as if all the torn bits of his heart had adjoined. His heart was pounding against his rib cage with joy and breathing didn't seem so hard anymore. He tightened his hold against her, never wanting to let go.
After what seemed like an eternity, he broke the hug to memorize her face once again. It was incredible that she was actually here...so close to him...in his arms...he could smell her fragrance mixed with lavender, vanilla, peach, first rain, cinnamon, jasmine and all those beautiful things which formed the Kria smell. "Baatcutter," he whispered, loving the way his voice wrapped around that old, familiar nickname like a caress. He raised his hand hesitantly to touch her scarlet cheeks, running his finger over her cheekbones delicately as if he was afraid he would break her.
"Reyaansh." VP Sir's voice sent the couple back to their senses. Rey stared at her for a moment and immediately stepped back. What the hell was wrong with him? Hadn't she made it clear that night that she had no interest in him and had used him only for his status? Why was he falling in love with her all over again? Kria looked into his eyes which were now filled with anger and betray and sighed. The magical moment was over. It was time for her to face reality again. She turned to VP Sir and forced herself to smile. He grinned back and put his arm around her, giving her a sideways hug.
Rey was staring at both of them in bewilderment. VP Sir looked at his confused expression. "I am surprised that you realized the first place she'd want to see is the rehearsal hall." Rey did not respond on which Kria explained briefly," I came here myself." "Oh so tum dono abhi miley?" VP Sir exclaimed in an unusual jolly tone. "How rude of me to skip the introductions! Kria, this is Reyaansh, one of our star-students and an amazing dancer." He turned to Rey who was unsuccessfully trying not to stare at Kria. "And Reyaansh, this is Kria Ghai. My daughter."
So this is how I imagined Kria's re-entry...some romance, dance and a twist...hope u guys like it...don't forget to comment...and please refrain yourselves from mentioning the 'forbidden name' in ur comments
