~*The Room of Doom*~
Halloween is coming up. Khushi,Gur,Tanu ,Visha ,Rosh and Jillu are very excited about their weekend plans!
At Khushi's place,where all 5 of them are plopped comfortably on the bed, in her room..
Khushi- Girls,Halloween is coming up !! Woohoo I cannot wait for the celebrations to start ! Last year's was so boring and I was like is this really Halloween ? It was so lame ,I tell you *rolls eyes*
Tanu- Khushi ,Khushi, Chill ,let us also talk 😳 Vish,havent you guys told about it to Miss Chatterbox here ? 😎
Vish- Of course we haven't ! We wanted to see her rant a bit ,haina Gur and Rosh ?😛
Gur and Rosh- Of course It was all my idea from the beginning,isn't it Rosh ? 😉
Rosh- Gur !! This was my idea okay !! 😡 *Throws a pillow at Gur*
Jillu- *clears throat* Umm excuse me,you guys,this is my idea okay !! Very convenient of you guys to take credit for an idea that was someone else's all along 😳
Gur and Rosh- *slightly abashed* Okay Jil,this idea was your's ,we agree and OMG it is brilliant !!
Khushi- Umm,hello,people,amigos,does anyone remember me ?? 😡 What is this oh so amazing idea you guys are talking about ? *Sulks*
Jillu- *Ta da ta da ta da* Imitates drum roll😛
Khushi- *irritably* What ?
*Others giggling*
Jillu- Okay so my idea is and you are going to love it for sure, *Khushi rolls eyes* that we ,just the six of us are going away for the weekend,to *pauses for effect* the Hotel Majestic !!
Khushi- *Gasps* H..ho..hotel M..ma..magistic ??😲
Tanu- Awww Khushi is scared ,poor thing *smirks*
Gur- Common Tanu,after all our Khushi is the youngest na,so of course she is bound to be scared *smirks harder* 😈
Khushi- *hotly* Of course I'm not scared !! I was just pretending to be scared ,to set in the mood ! 😉 I'm all game for it 😎
Tanu-Okay so we leave 2 days hence ,since its the weekend after all,so all of us can have a well deserved break,what say girls ?
*A chorus of YES is heard *
Two days hence
It is a glorious day ,full of warm sunshine,twittering of birds is heard and a heady scent of flowers fills the crisp morning air..
The girls decide to take the town bus to reach the destination..
At the bus stand..
Rosh- *tapping foot impatiently* Why is it that I'm the only punctual person here ? Ugh,I hate waiting 🤢
Jillu and Tanu- *Roll eyes at Rosh's impatience* Look, they will be coming anytime now! Chill !!
*Just then they see Khushi,Vish and Gur ,hurrying up the side walk !*
Vish- Okay we are here !! Common,lets get this party started !! Woohoo! 🥳
Khushi stands ,refusing to budge.
Tanu- What ? *raises eyebrows*
Khushi- What about our group hug ?😳
Gur- Oh haan! 😆
All of them have a group hug and fist pump each other..
In the bus
Vish- So what is our plan going to be ?
Jillu- What I thought was,we will stay in the hotel for two days,I have booked a room for all the 6 of us,it is really spacious,from what I have seen and we can sightsee too, I have heard the place is quite picturesque and we can spend a quality time with each other too,just the 6 of us !! 😎 What say ?
Tanu- OMG I'm sooo excited !! Yay its going to be so much fun !! Right Khushi ?
Khushi - Hell yeah !! 🥳
Rosh- *Shouts suddenly making everyone jump* I can see the place ! Its situated quite high up ,a hill probably ? It certainly looks like a hill !
Gur- *crossly* Rosh,you nearly gave us a fright ! Yes,it is situated on a hill,it was built by an eccentric guy,a millionaire ,from what I heard ! Have you guys heard of the mystery this place holds ? *smiles mischievously*
Khushi- W..wh..what m..my..mystery ?? *gulps*
Gur-Khushi,dont be scared kiddo 😛 Actually,it is nothing much,there has been a rumour circulating around Hotel Magestic that Suite 613 is haunted by a ghost named Malini, whose husband left her for another woman,and unable to bear the humiliation,she had committed suicide.. Rumour goes that she who lurks around ,wanting to avenge the people who caused her death ..
*Vish and Tanu look at each other,slightly taken aback by this story*
Rosh- Girls,listen ,this is a story ! Just a plain rumour to get business for this hotel since people out of curiosity would visit this place ! *Rolls eyes* You girls are too gullible to believe such tales
Khushi- *slightly mollified* As long as we stick together,I'm okay ! Btw Jillu,what are our room numbers,which you have booked ?
Jillu- Suite 613..
*Everyone look at each other..*
That night,everyone have a good sleep,though interspersed by few sounds,here and there but being so tired from the long journey,everyone sleeps through it..
At the Hotel- Day 1 ,Next morning
All the girls in their room Suite 613..
Tanu -Jil,Wow girl,you have chosen the right place ! The view is just beautiful ,it is so calm and serene ,there is no honking of cars and all and even the weather is just beautiful,with the cool breezes,everything seems so perfect
Khushi- I agree with Tanu! Jil,you really have done an awesome job!
Gur- Enough yapping guys*yawns* Do you people want to do something fun ? 😎
Rosh- *whines* But we have just reached an hour or so back ,I just want to lie on this soft and silky bed,all day along 😳 *Jil and Vish nod along*
Gur- You girls are so BORING. 🥱
Vish- Okay Gur,so what is this brilliant idea of yours ? What do you want to do ? 😛
Gur- Okay,so what about a little sightseeing ? Who's game ??
*Khushi,Vish,Tanu and Jillu get up,to get ready* They look to see Rosh still lying on the bed,not having budged at all..
Rosh-Listen girls,you go ahead,I still feel sleepy so I wish to stay back..😳
Gur and the rest- Okay Miss sleeping beauty 😛 Everyone laugh.
Everyone leaves..
Some time passes..
Rosh is reading a book ,curled up comfortably in her blanket ..
Suddenly,some sounds are heard,murmurings,rasping sounds,interspersed by some guttural moans..
Rosh- *Looking fearfully on both sides and whispers* Anyone here ?
Some more moans and a cold breeze ruffling her hair ,every now and then, has been added to the din..
Rosh- *starts praying to all the Gods she knows,closing her eyes,and wishing that everyone comes back..*
BANG!! The Door opens suddenly !!!
Some people enter..
Rosh- *Nearly jumps out of her skin,then sees who they are..*
Khushi- Rosh,Hi !! You should have come,we had such an awesome time,isn't it Gur ? 😃
Gur- Totally!! This place really is beautiful,you missed quite a lot Rosh! *shakes head sympathetically*
Just then they have a proper look at Rosh,whose face is drained of all colour,they take in her shaking hands,trembling lips and fearful expression!!
Jillu and Vish- ROSH !! What happened ??? Are you okay ?? Why do you look as if you have seen a ghost ?? 😲😲
Rosh- G..gi..girls.. I.. I...
Tanu- Rosh *shakes her roughly* What happened ? Is everything okay ??
Rosh- *Takes a deep breath* Everything was okay for sometime after you girls left but then .. And she recounts everything,about the weird sounds she heard and the cold breeze which had blown,every now and then..
Khushi- *Looks fearfully* OMG so is this true ,the rumour ? *She starts crying*
*Rosh is on the verge of tears too*
Gur and Vish- *Looks at each other incredulously* Rosh,are you okay ? Maybe you had slept off and dreamed the whole thing *both start to giggle*
Rosh- *furiously* I'm telling you girls ,what I saw okay!! I wasnt dreaming and all,as you put it ! 😡
*Everyone seems sceptical*
Some time passes by.. Everyone is lost in their own thoughts..
Tanu and Jillu- Girls,enough moping around! This is supposed to be a holiday right ? Common,let's go for dinner,some yummy food to cheer you all up,who's game ?
Everyone perk up at the mention of food and leave for dinner,and proceed to the dining room..
At the Dining Room
Rosh- I still am shaken up by the whole thing
Jillu and Vish- Rosh,just cheer up,do not think about what happened and ruin the holiday,which we had planned !
Tanu- Exactly! Lets forget the whole thing ,after all who believes in ghosts and all ? And that too only in Room 613 ? Thats a hoot !
*Rosh about to argue,a mutinous expression on her face but just then a lady comes to their table..*
Lady- Excuse me girls,I couldn't help but overhear but were you all talking about Suite 613 just now ?
*Everyone exchanges wary looks*
Gur- Yes we were..
Lady- Be careful girls,that room is to be treated with caution,the rumour holds true,I have seen a spectre hover there,with my own eyes and many servants have confirmed too.. Leave this place as soon as possible,leave and never come back..
*She goes,leaving an ominous silence behind*
That night
Jillu,Rosh and Khushi are sound asleep,tired after the day's events..However, Visha,Tanu and Gur,not sound sleepers unlike the other three,toss and turn,their minds full of what the lady had said during the dinner time..
Suddenly..
**Brrr mmm brrr ssshhh plop nnn plop nnn plop**
Visha wakes up as if someone had poured cold water all over her,she hears the voices and sees a pale translucent form hovering outside their bedroom window ..An involuntary gasp escapes her mouth.. Tanu and Jillu wake up too.. They see Visha's shaking hands,pointing at something .. The noises have stopped but the spectre is clearly visible..
They huddle close to each other,trying to block out the image.. Otherwise the night passes uneventfully..
Next morning,Day 2
The trio waste no time in recounting the night's incidents to the rest of them..
Gur- Girls,now I am convinced that there is something really strange going on here,something eerie and inexplicable ..
Everyone nod along,looking terrified ..
Khushi- I have heard of this trekking place nearby from this hotel,just fifteen minutes or so away.. Why don't we all spend some time there ,somewhere far away from this hotel and then we can come back in the evening, have dinner and leave straight away ?
Tanu and the rest -This is a very good idea,Khushi ! We are all for it !
Everyone go to get ready..
30 mins later,at the Trekking Point..
Khushi,Gur,Rosh and Tanu ,excited about their trekking adventure start immediately..
Vish and Jillu are tying their shoes..
Vish- Common,lets go 😃
Jillu- *Prepares to go but suddenly..* Vish,Oh no!! I have forgotten to bring my ropes,they are extremely important na,especially when we are going trekking and all ! How can I forget them ?
Vish- Oh yes,you have to have them! Come,we'll go ,bring it back and catch up with the rest!
Jillu- No Vish,you go ahead ! Why do you have to waste time with me ?🤔 You go ahead,I will just sprint back,and join you all in no time!! 😳
Visha- Okay Jil,you come back soon okay,we will wait for you at this point*hands out a map,and points out a certain location to the latter..*
Jillu leaves,retracing her steps back to the hotel.. The others wait for her to come back,but in vain..
Night falls..
Rosh- That girl (referring to Jillu) is always lazy ,I'm sure she would have dozed off in her room and forgotten all about the trekking! *The others laugh and agree..*
They reach the room,where a ghastly sight awaits them,the night of horror having just begun..
Khushi is the first one to reach the room,the others right behind her..
Khushi- *AAAHHH OH MY GOD !!!! *
The others are confused by her sudden outburst !! And then they see a sight which will forever be imprinted in their minds,one which they can never forget..
Jillu lying spread eagled on the floor of the bed,her eyes closed,her form deathly still and a pool of red shining blood,at the bottom of the bed,just next to her pale form..
Everyone give a scream of horror,an unnatural chill penetrates through their body,despite being clothed warmly.. They stand petrified by the ghastly sight,unable to take their eyes off their friend,unable to believe the stark reality of what lay there,each of them wanting to block out the images,to forget what they saw..
Rosh- *whispers* Girls ..I..i.. is it ?
Tanu and Vish- N..n...nooo..
Gur- *mutedly shakes her head back and forth,still in a state of shock*
They quietly exit the room,sinking to the floor ,their legs unable to support them any longer..
Khushi- What ? How ? When ? What ? *trails off*
Visha- *hoarsely* I can't believe it.
Tanu and Rosh - *sobs* We should never have come here 😭
Gur- B..bu..but ..h..h..how ?
The door opens quietly and someone comes outside of it,unknown to all these girls.. Gur,who is closest to the door,feels a hand on her shoulder,from behind..
Gur- AAAGHHH Someone touched me!!!!!!!
Everyone look behind fearfully !! They are unable to take in the sight before them for it was surely her ghost ..
Rosh- BUT YOU ARE ..
Tanu,Rosh and Vish want to backwards but are rooted to the spot,in fear for this was surely an apparition..
Jillu- Hi guys !! 😈😆
*Everyone starts to pray for their lives*
Jillu- Girls,girls ,dont be scared !! It is me Jillu,in flesh!! Me!!
And she pinches everyone,to prove that she was alive and well ,winking at each of them and giving a roguish smile ! 😉
Everyone is startled ,time seems to stand still ,for almost an eternity...
Then,
All of them pounce on her !!!
Rosh and Vish- JILLU !! OMG you idiot !! You freak !! How dare you do this ?? *They start to pull her hair but at the same time hugging her ,as if never letting go of her..*
Gur and Khushi- Jillu,you wicked girl !! How can you pull a prank on us like this ?? We were really petrified,you know !! 😡😡
Jillu- *Pacifying gesture to everyone* Girls,girls,leave me alone !! I'm sorry,dil se sorry !! I shall await your punishment ,I know I deserve it *Does uthak baithak*
*The rest stare at each other grimly,deciding all kind of punishments for this irrepressible girl *
Gur- We will punish you for sure but before that,we have to know this !! How did you manage all this ? *shakes head in amazement*
Jillu- Well basically it was pretty easy! Since I was the one who picked out this place ,I had everything planned,for a perfect Halloween surprise !! 😈 But a friend who helped me do all this is our very own next door neighbour Malini,she was the one who was my helping hand and the blood you all saw was just fake blood,and the noises you guys heard were made by her too* starts to giggle but stops after seeing 5 stern faces*
Khushi- Wait.. What was the name of the girl,you said,who helped you out ?
Jillu- Malini *gives a broad grin*
Tanu- But,isn't it Malini who was mentioned in the rumour ? The one who is supposed to haunt this place ?
*Everyone exchange startled glances*
Jillu- No no,that is just a rumour,let me introduce you all to her !!
Everyone go but alas,the next door room is empty,and what more,it was locked from outside and after certain enquiries,they find out that the room was always unoccupied ..

The group board the bus back home..
Back at the hotel entrance,a pearly translucent figure ,unknown and unseen by everyone else,stands..
Malini looks on,fondly at the group that has just left..Her newly found friend Jillu,reminded her so much of her best friend back in her childhood which was why ,she had offered to help Jillu,play the prank on her friends..
Seeing how close they were,brought back memories ,when she was alive.. She missed the laughter and fun,but most of all she missed the company of people..
She disappears..
Back in the bus
Jillu- Anyone up for a boring weekend next week ? *sighs*
Gur and Khushi- A relaxing day at home ? Just our favourite shows on TV and a bowl of popcorn ?
Tanu and Rosh- Jillu,we think this is one of the best ideas you have come up with..
Vish- Hell yeah ! Long live boring weekends..
