Semanti, hope your exams are going well. Best wishes for the same.
How each couple deals with their upcoming separation or change in the status quo makes for interesting reading. Just love how Lavanya and NK manage to bring a light-hearted tone to their serious discussion of their futures. "Do you think this will work out?" That softly spoken question in the midst of their banter reminds us that, after all, this is a young girl about to face a new life with all its possibilities and challenges, and away from her loved ones. However high one's IQ might be, one still fells vulnerable and unsure when venturing into newer pastures. NK understanding her fears and trying to allay them in his own unique fashion shows he's the right man for her. -What the examiner thinks is more important. -Not to me... lovely how Aman manages to turn every sentence into a statement of how much Payal means to him. It's a treat to see him understand each and every one of her nuances even when she isn't in front of him... her fears and wariness and understandable, given the circumstances at home and their seven year age difference. The ease with which Aman reads Payal's silences makes him the one for her, especially as he doesn't push for things to move at a faster pace. So then why did it seem so hard? Why did the thought of ending this relationship and saying goodbye to Akash make her feel so upset? Was it just a natural nervousness associated with change and fear of the unknown? Or was there more to it? Either way, it was the very worst time to develop these doubts... there is always the danger of a temporary relationship transforming into something deeper... however much one tries to keep one's heart away from being involved in such relationships, it may not always be possible. But mature of Shahira to stay true to their agreement, rather than trying to change the equation now... that would only lead to bad feelings. As Shahira placed her order, her sunny smile made a sudden rush of affection flood through him. He would miss her after this ended. He would miss her quite a bit... nice to see, however, that both invested a part of their hearts in this relationship despite having tried to be clinical about it.
full-sleeved, plain, white crochet dress... why does it remind me of something a virginal bride might wear? A smitten Arnav is a treat, especially when it's Khushi's simplicity of dress and style that draws him like a moth to a flame. "Like you want to finish this here and now." "What will you do when I actually violate you?" Love the fact that Khushi isn't all coy though her innocence shines through. Their banter keeps things light-hearted, without making either feel pressured, despite the undercurrent of sizzling desire. She liked the idea of baiting him-- but not enough for him to actually stop the car and kiss her. She had a feeling that she wouldn't be able to stop... it's entertaining to read of the suggestive things Khushi comes up with. Semanti, nice of you to create two characters that blend their traditions with a modern approach... that Khushi is the one who encourages intimacies and even doubts her control over her own desires makes this scene all the more believable. Arnav making new memories by showing Khushi the garden that Anjali loved is a touching moment. The slight awkwardness between the two due to certain subjects they hesitate to broach makes their relationship all the more realistic. Glad to note things thawing between Khushi and her dad and her acknowledgement of their love for each other and concur with Arnav's take on the matter. Loved how he slipped in the fact that his mom was looking forward to meeting Khushi, much to the latter's consternation. Poor Khushi, the very idea that her future mom-in-law knows what she and Arnav were up to at the farmhouse brings a blush to her face. Ma's very chill at the first meeting. She only says tactless and outrageous things once she gets to know you well enough... love Arnav's take on his mom he seems to be deriving immense pleasure in flustering Khushi! The song they dance to aptly reflects their relationship... looks like Arnav has thought of everything while planning their time together. He kissed her with abandon, knowing that they were alone and would not be interrupted. The heat that had been simmering between them all evening finally had a chance to unleash its potential, consuming them in its intensity... a beautiful picture of their ever-present passion. Khushi's nervousness making her ramble and Arnav trying to act all macho then admitting to a slight nervousness make for a cute picture. Also, respect Arnav for telling Khushi that they need not take the next step if she's having second thoughts about making love to him. The fact that he has always left the choice to her as to what happens in their relationship makes him quite special. Khushi's bout of shyness and hiding herself in his arms to regain her composure and he making constantly sure that she is alright while he takes things slow [when he would rather give in to his all-consuming desire to ravish her] are all very heart-warming. Her eagerness and not holding back is such a welcome change from the coyness we are constantly bombarded with on-screen. Love that even before taking the final plunge [pun intended] Arnav asks for Khushi's consent. "Chances are, with the amount of dancing I've done, I lost my hymen long ago." "Trust you to spout awkward facts at the worst possible times." Their intimate moments have been depicted in a sensuous and tasteful manner and the gentle humor interspersing it just makes the whole scene pretty moving. Since resistance was futile, and he'd already given his heart away, he was going to ensure that the one who held his heart stayed with him forever... beautiful! By giving themselves to each other in every sense of the word, they now know that they are bound to each other and that their relationship is worth fighting for. Khushi waking up to the adorable sight of Arnav sleeping like a baby followed by her reluctance to be separated from him in the pursuit of her dreams clearly shows he is as important to her as her dreams. Thank god she quickly allayed her fears that she regretted their lovemaking before he totally panicked. Their I love you' to each other holds all the more meaning as they are about to be separated for two years. The maturity with which they deal with their issues is heart-warming: "We're going to do what we've done all along. Take one step at a time. And two years isn't that long anyway."
Sakshi's approval of Khushi was a foregone conclusion, given how the latter makes Arnav come alive... Khushi's presence in Arnav's life enabling his mom to tease him unmercifully is an added bonus, of course. The faintest hint of a smile fought at the corners of his mouth, and though his face looked as grim and lined as ever, his eyes shone with unmistakable pride. Breaking free from her mother's embrace, she walked up to her father and hugged him tightly. Getting over his initial surprise, he patted her awkwardly on the back. "Well done, Khushi." Khushi pulled back with a smile. "Thank you, Papa. For letting me do this." Now that was the best moment of the day " the rapprochement between father and daughter. As usual Khushi's impulsiveness brought back happiness into her life. Khushi's fears about meeting Sakshi turn out to be needless... their meeting and Sakshi's hug passed off quite naturally. Now, Arnav meeting the Guptas would have been another matter entirely, which would have paled into comparison if Aman and Payal entered the scene. Arnav's and Khushi's two month separation is giving them ample practice in taking things one step at a time and dealing with their long distance relationship. Each has realised just how important the other is in his or her life and is willing to do everything possible to make a go of it. And we, the readers, are left with the feeling that these two will more than likely succeed in their endeavours.
