vishwa are we sure about them
but i think he does know
she knows as well as he does that he is the one for her
interesting so he knew that she had harboured some feelings for him
but he also knew he isnt the one for her
it is only arjun for shyama
hmmm this gets very intriguing for sure

Awh! If only she hadn't rushed out even before they could finish the main course. 😊

This was a fantastic chapter, from the restaurant to the menu to the conversation between the 2. He finally acknowledges the feeling she stirred up in him but reminds her that he is not the one for her no matter how much she wants it. He is showing her that no matter how much they both may want something to happen between them, nothing was gonna come out of it so she is better off going after the one that will truly treat her like the one and only one for him as opposed to being one of many for Vishwa (again I don't know the Mahabharata but guessing that is what he means by man of many distractions vs the one who will die or kill for her). The storm raging in her at being confronted with the truth was very well described and then her hero showed up but she is not ready for him yet is she? She had to extract the promise from her first love to always be there for her no matter what as she is not 100 percent sure about the future. Very interesting! I too would have loved to see the desert menu. Maybe Arnav can get dessert to go? Would over to get PM.

happy Dussera!
Thank you for the PM... just read parts 1 to 5... an interesting concept: the Mahabharata adapted to modern times and in a modern setting... the events unfolding through Khushi's eyes is a novel concept. The relationship between Khushi and Vishwa is intriguing as is the budding connection between her and Arnav / Arjun.

Imagine, she has been protected, shielded from every man's view for so long. And for the first time her father brings a man into the house, calls him his protege, has high esteem than what he holds for his own blood - Dhri. If that isn't already enough to go weak kneed, women throw themselves at him. He is already elusive, speaks like he is old and young at the same time.

In short, she was a frog in a well.

But, can the affections a woman develops for such a man, in such a setting, be called first love? Or should age and time, place and maturity not be considered before we term that strong inclination towards Vishwa, as first love?

Any takers?

Vishwa cannot be Shyama's first love, the person she is, she will not love easily and this is the way I see her and other may have a different view. She views Vishwa as her inner voice which tells her right from wrong, that person who is held in high esteem by the people who matter to her. I would use the term hero worship more than love for what Shyama feels for Vishwa

We tend to use the word 'love' loosely most times and though it is not wrong it loses its potency when we want to say anything of import.

I have a question, how is she a frog in the well? She is 28 you tell us and must have interacted with a fair share of men; she has not found someone that sparks her interest. I agree Vishwa may be a tall order to follow but she did react to Arjun and she had no idea Arjun had anything to do with Vishwa or her swayamvar.

She was a frog in a well, at that time when she'd met Vishwa. :)

As for now, the question remains why Arjun? Why him? Has the answer already been given? I think so

Ah ha, yes she was a frog in the well...
I think we are being unfair to your story by falling back on the epic ever so often. Going forward I am going to stick with what you have to tell us, sure the epic and it's reference looms large on the story but you are making it your own and that I want to read.

Don't bother, I'm enjoying it quite well actually. Reference or not, I know what this story is going to be, so we are good ;)
