His fingers were working on the keyboard but his mind was totally lost. He had a long staring session at the photo kept beside his laptop in his massive cabin. The photo had that smile of hers which he longed to see for months. But that wasn't possible. He used to be gifted with a weak smile once in a blue moon. Her eyes seemed to have lost their twinkle and innocence and were replaced by sorrow and waiting to close. He knew that her once pink luscious lips had turned dry and patched but he still longed for their touch. It could heal his pain!!
A fresh stream of tears made their way to his face. He remembered the day when he came to know that.

Few months ago...
He entered his home tired but he knew that his wife would make him back to his mood again!!
But wait!! Did he just notice that she wasn't there in the living room to welcome him..
Where was she?
He called out her name several times.
His star just appeared in front of him. And he was back to his romantic mood. But he failed to see her tensed face which had quietly hid behind her weak smile.
He quickly laid his hungry lips on hers. She took time to respond. She always did. But this time she rather took a long time to respond. And he didn't feel the love n passion everytime they kissed. Something was different but he chucked it off thinking she must be tired. Big Mistake!!!
After breaking that not-so-wanted kiss, he expected her to blush, like she always did. But no!! She didn't even blush. He shrugged that thought too!!
After a quiet dinner, she was clearing off the mess in the kitchen while he went in their room to sleep.
It was then he noticed some paper's edges sticking out from underneath her pillow. He quickly glanced at them. His tear-drop fell on the paper.
He quickly put the papers again where they were and went to sleep on his side, as soon as he heard her footsteps.
The bedroom-door creaked open and she entered and immediately went too sleep. BUT
Both of their eyes were wide awake and had transparent tears which glimmered in the moonlight.
"Couldn't you just trust me" he thought
"Sorry" she thought
Soon they drifted off to the unconscious world and were fast asleep..

Again a tear formed in his eyes.
His phone rang.
He saw the caller id and quickly answered it
"hello" he said in a hurry
"woh mam ko..." the person on the other-hand said
Before letting the person complete its sentence he quickly grabbed his car keys and made his way through the never ending traffic.
A citizen of India who had never violated the rules of the Constitution was now hell bent on breaking every rule in it.
After-all it was his wife!!!!
He entered the City Hospital and barked at the receptionist
"Where is she"
"ICU..take right" she quivered
He ran to ICU according to her directions.
There he saw her without any wires, glucose, etc
The doctor exited the room with a disappointed face
"She is no more"
he said it in a slow guilty voice.
He was shattered then and there. He just fell on his knees. His soul was taken away. he cried his heart out..no!!...he didn't have a heart now!!
He was a mere lifeless soul.
The doctor handed him a note
"She gave it for you, "
and in shaky hand-writing was written a mere 'Sorry'
but it spoke volumes.
She had cancer for the past 6 months.
She decided to not give tension to her husband. So she hid this thing from him. No cure. She was already on the last stage. She knew it was difficult for her to be ALIVE!!!
One day she gathered some courage to tell it to her husband.
He didn't react!!
And then she came to know that he already knew.
They cried silently that night in each other's arms.
That was the last night they were together.
Cause after that hospital became her home and office his!

1 year later
I miss you, please come back. Maine bahut try kiya ki main concentrate karoon..nahi hota mujhse. Bahot hard apne dil ke bina jeena. Kyun gayi tum. Par tume pata hai ki iss sab ka main reason kya hai,
main tumhe samajh nahi saka aur tum mujhe trust nahi kar payii
issliye hum dono yehi deserve karte hai, ek dusre se alag rehna.
We both are The Reason why we are not together now.
A lone tear escaped his eye.
He kept the red rose on her graveyard and moved his hand on her in scripted letters..
He walked off..

Minutes later her brother walked to her grave.
He put a daisy on her grave
" Mujhe pata hai ki tumhe daisy pasand tha, par just because 'usska' favourite rose tha, u changed your preference also. Miss you"
He too walked off shedding a tear on her name-plate.

Heavy rains started pouring down.
Maybe she was crying too seeing her husband and brother shed two drops for HER!!
Women's habit of crying a lot right?
