Janmashtami TS: Will he or wont he?
Translation of Part 3
Khushi: I dont want to talk to u!
Arnav: But I wanna say something-all the best! Khushi: Thank u so very much!
She stormed out of the room leaving Arnav smirking behind her back.
Arnav(thinks): She'll b back within 2 minutes!
He turned towards the wall clock & started counting.
As he had expected,he heard the collective jingling of all her ornaments even before he had finished counting.
He folded his arms across his chest & waited.
Khushi entered the room & walked up to him in long strides.
Khushi: U want to hear everything from my mouth,isnt it?
Though Arnav did not reply with his mouth,his eyes told her that she was right.
Khushi: So listen: I'm taking back my promise!
Arnav(doubtfully): R u sure u can do that?
Khushi: Yes,I can! I hav much more knowledge about all such things than u do!
Arnav: Definitely! But.. r u taking ur promise back coz u dont wanna face everyone alone? By now everyone must've seen my car. May b someone has even seen me entering buaji's house. So if I dont go to watch ur program now,u'll hav to answer their questions. I hope u've not taken back ur promise coz u dont wanna put urself in a tight spot?
Khushi: Of course not! I'm courageous enough to face the questions hurled at me & give appropriate answers to those questions!
Arnav: I see.. So y did u take ur promise back?
Khushi(loudly): Coz I want u to come & watch me dance!
Arnav hid his smirk.
Khushi: Did u hear me?
Arnav: Yup!
Khushi: So now will u grace my program with ur esteemed presence,Swami?
Arnav: Of course I will!
Khushi sighed in relief.
Arnav: But I hav some terms & conditions.
Khushi(frowns): Terms & Conditions?
Arnav(nods): First of all,henceforth u will never make me swear on urself for any stupid reason!
Khushi(enraged): U're..
Arnav(interrupts): And secondly,henceforth u will never sacrifice ur happiness for my sake! (points to her)Now,its upto u.
Either u accept both the conditions & take me along or else..
Khushi: I will accept both the conditions but before that u will hav to accept my condition!
Arnav: Ur condition?
Khushi: Yes. U'll hav to promise me that u will never irritate me,in future,the way u did today! Do u accept it?
Arnav(smiles): Yes,accepted!
Khushi is about to hug him when Arnav stops her by holding her arms.
Arnav: Not now! U need to accept my conditions..
Khushi(with tears in her eyes): Accepted! Okay? If u hav any more terms & conditions,then u can tell me about it. U can irritate me as much as u want to for today!(points her index finger at him) But if u ever irritate me like this in future then..
Arnav(arms around her waist): Then!? Then what'll u do?
Khushi: I'll teach u sucha lesson which u'll remember for the rest of ur life!
Arnav(looks at her finger): R u intimidating me?
Khushi: Dont think of it as an intimidation. Consider it as a warning!
Arnav: Understood! Now dont cry or else u'll end up spoiling ur make-up.
Khushi(wipes her eyes): Hmm.
Arnav: I'm waiting..
Khushi(confused): For what?
Arnav(pulls her closer): For this!
Khushi rests her head on his chest as she wraps her arms around his neck.
Arnav: Sorry!
Khushi: I'm also sorry!
She lifts her head to look at him.
Khushi: Always remember 1 thing- U're everything for me! No matter whose name I take from my mouth,there's only 1 name in my heart-(lowers her gaze)Ar..nav!And it'll b the only name in my heart,forever!
Arnav (tweaks her red nose): I know.
Paayal(from outside): Khushi...!
Khushi(whispers): Leave me!
She stands at a respectable distance from him.
Paayal(entering the room): Khushi y didnt u..
She stops abruptly when her eyes fall on Arnav.
She immediately turns away.
Arnav frowns.
Khushi nudges him.
Arnav(mouths): What?
Khushi points to his clothes with her eyes.
Arnav(realizes): Oh..! (checks himself) a.. all the best!
Khushi: This is the 3rd or 4th time since the morning that I'm telling u-thanks!
Arnav(grabs his vest): I was wishing Paayal,not u!
Khushi gives him a look which tells him that he cannot fool her.
Paayal: a.. Thank u! Hurry up Khushi. Chachaji was asking about u.
Khushi: Yjiji. Lets go..
She follows Paayal out of the room.
Once they reach the courtyard,Paayal gives a teasing smile to Khushi.
Paayal: Now I know y u didnt turn up to watch Krishna leela!
Khushi: How could I? I was watching Arnav leela over here!
Before Paayal could say anything further,Khushi was called by one of their neighbours.
Khushi: Yes mausi?

Arnav was surprised to find Khushi in the courtyard when he came out of the house.
Arnav: Khushi?
Khushi glared at him.
Arnav: Y didnt u go with Paayal?
Khushi(whispers): First u tell me-where did u go to wash ur hands after feeding rasgullas to me?
Arnav(points to the backyard): At the washbin in the backyard. Thats the one which I use everytime I'm here. What's the need to ask this?
Khushi(whispers): When u were not wearing ur kurta what was the need to.. go out of the house? And when u did go outside,y did u hav to switch on the light? Vimla mausi saw u.. like that!(embarassed) And she also saw those.. altaa marks on ur back!
Arnav: Oh-oh!
Khushi: By now she must've told this to all the neighbours.(pouts) Now everybody will tease me!
Arnav: Awww! I'm so sorry!I'll take care next time.
Khushi(frowns): Next time?
Arnav: Ya.. Wont there b a function for Janmashtami next year?
Khushi: No. Since Janmashtami fell on the same day as Lakshminagar's 50th anniversary this year,we organized this program. I dont think there'll b a function next year coz sucha function did not happen in the past.
Arnav(lopsided grin): That's great!
Khushi: What makes u so happy?
Paayal approached them before Arnav could reply.
Paayal: I'm sorry! But if Khushi does not come with me now,r dance will be cancelled.
Arnav: Nothing of that sort will happen! Relax! Both of u!(to Khushi) Go..
Khushi: And.. what about u?
Arnav: I'm coming!
Khushi smiles & leaves with Paayal.

10 minutes later..
MC: Now RadhaRani will tell u about her fascinating dream.The dance will b presented by Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada & Paayal Singh Raizada.
Arnav waits for the curtains to open with bated breath.
However,when the curtains opened up,the scene in front of him took his breath away.
Arnav(stands up): What happened to Khushi?
Buaji grabs his hand & pulls him back into his seat.
Buaji: Sit down babua! Sanka devi is only pretending to b asleep! Its all a part of the dance.
Arnav(relieved): Oh! Okay.

Khushi & Paayal enact a small scene where Krishna appears before Radha.
When Radha wakes up,She realizes that She was dreaming about the Lord.
Then She narrates her dream to the Gopis(audience) through the dance:

As the verse was repeated,Arnav recalled Khushi telling him that each line of the song reminded her of him. And that he was the only one she thought of while hearing the song.
Arnav is brought back to reality when the following verse started blaring through the loudspeaker.
Woh bola: "Sun meri Radha,
Main tere bina hoon aadha!
Meri bansi tujhe pukaare,
Aa daudi Yamuna kinaare.."
(Translation:
He said:"Listen my Radha,
I'm incomplete without u!
My flute is calling u,
Come running to the banks of the Yamuna..")
A smile appears on Arnav's lips as he recalls the day when he'd told Khushi that he felt incomplete without her.
Khushi,meanwhile,danced to rest of the verse,hoping Arnav was reminiscing about the same incident which she had thought of when she'd heard the song for the first time.

So lost was Arnav in his thoughts that he missed one verse of the song.
He had to thank buaji.
Had she not knudged him hard,he would've missed the rest of the song as well!
Buaji: Tumhra dhyaan kahaan hai,babua?
Arnav: Kahin nahi,buaji! Yaheen hai.
He shifted his gaze to the stage where his wife was blushing like a rose while holding Paayal's hand.
Mera haath pakad k dole,
Nainan ki bhasha bole.
Main ho gayi Shyam deewani.
Mohe de gayo khaas nishaani!
(Translation:
He holds my hand while dancing,
He conveys his feelings thru his eyes.
I'm mad about Shyam!
He gave me a special memento!)
Arnav did not fail to notice that Khushi pointed to her bangles while talking about the nishaani. He was the only 1 from the audience who knew the reason behind that gesture.

(Translation:
I lost my earring,
Lost my earring
While playing with him..)
This time Khushi held her earlobe & blushed even harder.
Arnav smirked at his copycat of a wife.
If buaji was not enough,this time NK nudged him from his left side.
NK(teases): What happened Nannav? Y r u smiling,haan?
The heads of the family members turned towards Arnav who chose to ignore them.
Meanwhile,the last stanza started..
Woh natkhat Nandkishora,
Chhaliya,Gokul ka chhora.
Sapne me aan sataave
Phir chain mujhe naa aave.
(translation:
That naughty Nandkishore
Is from Gokul.
He teases me in my dreams
With the result that
I'm unable to sleep.)
NK(elated): She's talking about me?!
Arnav rewards him with one of his fiercest glares.
Arnav: No! (thru gritted teeth) Dont even dare to think like that!
NK: Relax Nannav! Lambi saas andar,lambi saas baahar!(breathe in,breathe out!)
Arnav scowled as he shifted his gaze back to the stage.

How Arnav wished he could tell NK that Khushi was talking about him!
He was,is & would always be the one & the only man of her dreams!
But he did not want the family members to tease either him or Khushi. So he decided to keep quiet.

The audience broke into an applause as the dance got over.
Arnav immediately left his seat & walked towards the backstage area,with Aakash following suit.
When he reached the backstage,he found Khushi wiping her face with a napkin.
The moment she saw him,she hopped towards him,visibly excited.
Khushi: How was my dance? I did well,isnt it?
Arnav: Yeah,the dance was wonderful!
Holding Khushi's hand in a firm grip,he dragged her away from the chaos after giving Paayal a nod of appreciation.
Khushi: Areh!Where r u taking me? I havent even worn my sandals.
Arnav halted,turned around & smirked.
Arnav: So should I carry u in my arms?
Khushi(stumped): a.. no,no! I'm.. coming along. But atleast tell me where we r going?
Arnav: Come along & find out for urself!
They met a few neighbours on the way who asked several questions,which were successfully dodged by Arnav.
Arnav opened the door to the passenger seat of the SUV & gestured Khushi to sit inside.
Then he went around & sat on the driver's seat.
Khushi: Now tell me. What r u up to?
Arnav: No! U tell me-when did u see me in ur dreams? And when did u chant my name?
Khushi: I keep chanting ur name throughout the day! Arnavji this, Arnavji that.. And about the dream.. I frequently dream about u..
Arnav(tilts his head): Really?
A shy Khushi gives a short nod.
Arnav leans towards her & kisses her cheek.
Khushi(looks around nervously): Someone will see us..
Arnav(tucks her hair behind her ear): Nobody's around. Everyone is busy watching the program.
Khushi: Ar.. navji..
Arnav(leans towards her): Just 1 kiss..
Khushi(turns her face away): No.. Not here.
Arnav: Fine!
He leans across her to fasten her seatbelt before fastening his own seatbelt.
Khushi(shocked): Where.. r we going?
Arnav: To someplace where I can kiss u!
He is about to start the ignition when Khushi stops him.
Khushi: R u mad?! The program will get over in another hour or so. We will b going home after that.
Arnav: Right! And the moment we'll reach home,u'll get busy with the pooja preparations. And my number will come after pooja,aarti,prasaad,etc!
Khushi: So what? Cant u wait for a few hours?
Arnav(yells): No,I cant! Did u hear me?
Khushi: Dont shout!
Arnav(in a milder tone): I've been waiting since this morning. Actually since day before,ever since u made me swear on urself! (hits the steering wheel)I dont know when the wait will get over?
Khushi: Who told u that u're the only one who's waiting?
Arnav turns to her after she says that.
Khushi: I've also been waiting,since day before!
Arnav: So y r u refusing now?
Khushi: Coz niether the place nor the time is right. Everyone is waiting for us inside.
Arnav(nods): Okay. Lets go..
He unfastens their seatbelts.
Khushi(holds his hand): Listen..
Arnav: hm?
Khushi: Take the keys of the small car from jijaji & give him the keys of this car. I'll make some excuse in front of buaji & naniji. And then we will leave for home the moment Nanheji's dance gets over! Before everyone else!
Arnav rewards her with one of his rare smiles.
Khushi: Is it fine?
Arnav(nods): Yeah,it is!________________________________________________________________
ArShi met Preeto & her husband while going towards the ground.
Husband(smiles): Good evening sir!
Arnav nods.
Preeto: Namaste!
Arnav(nods again): How r u?
Preeto: Fine.
Khushi: Y arent u waiting till the last program?
Preeto: There's a pooja at home. We're expecting a lot of guests. So.. we need to b at home to welcome them.
While Khushi & Preeto chit-chat with each other,Arnav takes her husband aside for a grilling session.
Arnav: I hope u're taking care of her?
Husband: Yes sir.I take very good care of her!
Arnav: Good! And who's going to take care of the guests who're coming to ur house?
Husband: We all will take care of them. Dont worry,sir! I wont let Preetika work too much.
Arnav: She's full time pregnant. She shouldnt b working too much anyways.
Husband: Yes sir.
Arnav excuses himself after he recieves NK's text message.
Arnav: I guess we should leave..
Khushi(hugging Preeto): Take care of urself n the baby. (smiles)And give us the good news soon!
Preeto nods with a smile.
Arnav: Take care.
Preeto: Thanks!

Arnav tugs at her hand when Khushi tries to walk towards the family.
Khushi: Now what?
Arnav: We'll sit in the last row.
Khushi(shocked): Why?
Arnav: Coz I wanna talk to u.
Khushi:But I want to watch Nanheji's dance.
Arnav: NK is dancing at my behest. I'm the one who told him to prepare this dance.
Khushi(shell shocked): U told him to dance?!
Arnav: Yup! I wanna talk to u about the dance. I cant do that in front of the family.
Khushi: Okay. U go & sit there. I'll inform buaji that we're sitting in the last row.
Arnav: Dont start chatting with them! Make sure u're back before NK's dance starts.
Khushi nods & leaves.

5 minutes later...
MC: The Gopis enjoyed teasing Radha as much as Kanha enjoyed teasing Her! At times the Gopis would take Kanha's side & tease Radha to no end!..
Arnav(realizes): She isnt.. talking about NK's dance.
Khushi: This is Swati's,I mean.. my friend's dance.
Arnav: Then y did NK text me that he's going to perform next?
Khushi: May b they've changed the order of performances? May b Nanheji's dance will b after Swati's dance?
Arnav(impatient): What the..!? For how long will I hav to wait?
Khushi: Have patience!
Before Arnav could reply,he heard a girl call loudly: Mohan...!
Arnav frowns at the girl standing alone on the stage.
Girl(looks to her left): Maadhav...! (looks to her right) Muraari...!
Arnav's frown became much deeper.
The girl called again,a little louder this time: Govind...! (even louder) Areh Oh Keshav...!
She became frustrated upon not getting a reply.
Girl: Where r u, Manohar...?
Arnav: Y is this girl calling so many boys?
Khushi(whispers): Oh-ho! This girl is playing Radha's part. And she's calling only 1 person-Lord Krishna! All these r his names.
Arnav(surprised): So many names!?
Khushi: Yes. He has 108 names.
Arnav: Holy! So is she going to call him by all the 108 names?
Khushi(irritated): Let me watch the program!
Arnav: Sorry! Isnt it.. wierd? I mean,How can 1 person hav so many names?
Khushi: Y? If u can hav many names,then y cant He hav 108 names?
Arnav(confused): Do I hav many names?
Khushi: Yes,u do! Count & see how many names u hav!
Arnav: Lets see-(counts on his fingers)Arnav..
Khushi: Arnavji..
Arnav: Lard governer..
Khushi: ASR..
Arnav: Chhotey..
Khushi: Swami..
Arnav: Raakshas..
Khushi: Nannav..
Arnav: Kans mama!
Khushi(surprised): U remember that Janmashtami!?
Arnav: Of course,I do!
Khushi: I didnt name u Kans mama. Coincidentally,u entered the house at the same time when I was telling Lavanyaji about Kans.
Arnav: I know! Hav we covered all my names?
Khushi: 1 name is remaining-Nand!
Arnav(confused): Nand?
Khushi(non-chalantly): Ya! U're Nand,I'm Yashoda &..
She points to the first row of seats where Aarav was sitting beside Aakash.
Khushi: That's r Baal Gopal!
Arnav smiles,looking fondly at his son.
Khushi: Aarav entered r lives just like The adorable Baal Gopal! Lord Krishna belonged to Mathura but since He was brought up in Gokul,He loved Gokul & the people of Gokul! The same way,Aarav came to r house as a guest but he mingled with all of us pretty soon. And now he loves both the families!
Arnav nods in agreement.
At that moment,the audience breaks into an applause as the curtains are drawn close.
Arnav(sighs): Finally! Now if someone else comes to dance instead of NK,I will..
Khushi(interrupts): That wont happen! The program is about to end. Wait quietly!

Arnav was more than relieved when the MC announced about NK's dance.
Khushi: Now tell me. What were u saying about the dance?
Arnav: NK will dance,he will pretend to sing the lyrics but I'm the one who wants to say all that to u. Okay?
Khushi nods & shifts her attention to the stage.
Arnav: I hope NK does not make any mistakes. Coz if he does,I'll..
Khushi(interrupts): Ssshhh! Shut up & watch the dance!
Arnav: And u listen to the song! Make sure u hear every word.
"Okay",said Khushi as the song started.

Khushi turned towards Arnav to find him turning towards her.
While the lyrics were being repeated,Arnav held Khushi's hand & entwined his fingers with hers.
Khushi could not turn her gaze away from him.
Though her eyes were fixed on her charming husband,her ears heard & her mind registered every word of the song.

Khushi understood what Arnav was trying to say even though the song had barely started.

Khushi: So this.. is what u wanted to say?
Arnav(nods): I want to say much more than this.
Khushi turned her gaze towards the stage & smiled.
Khushi: Nanheji looks so good in Kanhaiyya's dress! Doesnt he?
Arnav had to agree. NK was,indeed,looking good.
And he also had to give it to him for preparing the dance in such a short span of time.
All thoughts related to NK were forgotten when the instrumental piece ended & the next stanza started.
Khushi turned towards Arnav who immediately locked his gaze with hers.

Arnav & Khushi started talking when the first stanza was repeated.
Khushi: Can I ask something?
Arnav: Come on,Khushi! U dont need my permission!
Khushi: If u wanted me to hear the song,u couldve told me to hear it. What was the need to make Nanheji dance on it?
Arnav: That was my excuse to come here. U had made me swear on urself & there was no way I could break that promise!
Khushi: So thats y u made Nanheji the goat which is sacrificed?
Arnav shrugs.
Khushi: U're too much,Arnavji!
Arnav(points to the stage): Shut up & listen!..

Arnav: U stole my heart & vice versa!
Khushi(smiles): Now tell me about ur flute,which keeps calling my name
Arnav: That's my heart..
Khushi(blushes): And.. what about the cows?
Arnav: umm.. that's my SUV?
Khushi: Wow!
She wanted to ask another question but chose to wait since the last stanza of the song had started.

Khushi: I wont,coz I know that for us r pool is like Ganga, Jamuna, Saraswati,etc!
Arnav: Very true!
Khushi: But I will ask another question..
Arnav: What is that?
Khushi: When I told u that there wont b a function for Janmashtami next year, y did u become so elated?
Arnav: I'd planned so much last year but yet we could not hav r suhaag raat..
Khushi(interrupts): Softly!
Arnav(whispers): Yet we could not hav r suhaag raat on the night of Janmashtami. Then this year I thought that we will celebrate our Janmashtami wali suhaag raat tonight! But.. u're very tired today & so am I. Besides,I havent made any preparations.
Khushi(surprised): Preparation?!
Arnav: I mean,decoration! So.. it wont b possible this year either. Now that I know there wont b a function next year,it makes me happy coz,hopefully,(whispers) we'll b able to celebrate Janmashtami wali suhaag raat next year!
Khushi(blushes): U're incorrigible!
Arnav: And so r u!
Khushi: Keep 1 thing in mind next year while preparing.. I mean,decorating r room-I hate artificial flowers! So please make sure that the suhaag ki sej,I mean the bridal bed, is decorated with real roses & other flowers.
Arnav: Deal! Anything else,madam?
Khushi: No! I know u will take care of the rest!
Arnav opened his mouth to say something but stopped abruptly as he had a brainwave.
Arnav: There's 1 thing which we can do tonight.. on this Janmashtami. That too,here & now!
Khushi(scandalized): Wh.. what?
Arnav looks into her eyes & whispers: I love you, (smirks) dammit!
Khushi(relieved): Hey Devi Maiyya!
Arnav: What the..!?
Khushi: I thought u'll.. anyways!
Arnav: Its ur turn..
Khushi: Y should I say it right now? I'd said that on the day after Janmashtami, remember?
Arnav(lets go of her hand): Fine. U dont need to say anything!
Khushi(holds his hand): Dont b so upset! I was only teasing u!
Arnav: Say it!
Khushi(smiles): Hum bhi aapse.. I love you,dammit!
Arnav wanted to kiss her then & there but he was forced to keep a check over himself when he saw NK approaching them from the corner of his eye.
NK: Hey Nannav! Hey Khushiji! Hope u're fine now?
Khushi: Ya Nanheji,I'm fine!
NK: That's great!(looking at Arnav) Which means the problem is solved?
Arnav: Yup! Thanks!
