Loved it Kripa... Trust u to come up with such an inspirational story abt such a sensitive issue... I just can't believe that how can a human being become a beast to inflict such a horrific ordeal on somebody, how can they live with themselves after doing this is beyond me... May God bless u Kripa for doing your bit to create awareness in which ever way u can abt this issue and I just pray to Allah that plz dont let any woman go through this horrific ordeal ever in her life A'ameen Summa A'ameen.

it is a very very beautiful OS.. something that i can understand.. i cut my finger by mistake.. i can tell you how it was for me to accept the fact that my ring finger is never gonna look as it looked before that accident..

so i can only imagine the feeling of helpless to loose your face.. it is your identity.. atleast for the society.. but very very beautifully written OS.. loved the title.. too..

An inspirational os. It was very emotional and heartbreaking for the victims. They do not have any self confidence after the incidence but with the right support they can start believing in themselves. It's so unfortunate that victims are looked down upon like their nothing and it was their own fault.

Well done to all those who are fighting for this cause.

Thank you for this os. A real eye opener.

I have seen an acid burnt woman who used to work in an NGO where i was an intern. With all my sympathy and respect to her and to her resilience I must admit, it wasn't easy for me to behave normally with her. I remember, I couldn't look at her properly. I used to feel troubled just by looking at her face.. I, of course, used to hate myself for that..
Its not easy for normal people to behave normally with acid victims. The effect of acid attack is so damaging... I don't know if an acid thrower have ever looked at a face he/she burnt. If they don't repent their act, they just cannot be sane!

So what I feel, more counselling is needed to the family and friends of the victims.. We should definitely encourage the victims to fight back .. tell them that they should not give up, but what is more important is the education to others in the society who needs to stand by the victims..

Good to know about the judgement of the Supreme court. In Bangladesh the law is more stringent. Acid throwers could be awarded with capital punishment here and sale of acid in normal shops are also banned.

But the problem still remains un-addressed.. because those who want acid, they manage to buy it anyway.
Having said this, i definitely appreciate the SC decision .. as it could be taken as a first step toward a better situation.

I cannot conclude this post without expressing my heart-felt gratitude for bringing this issue here through a fiction..You have definitely reached a huge audience here! THANKS A MILLION!

A very emotional update I'm literally crying
This is a serious issue which should be laid in front of everyone
Arnav and khushi both were strong enough to be able to handle the difficult circumstances but others don't do that they always blame the victim for it
Very beautifully written

res...will unres at night😊
Edited:
Wonderfully written!

It isn't easy to write on such a topic and I think it is pretty commendable of you to even think of writing on this knowing how traumatic it would have been for you to draft something like that.

Acid attacks are on the rise and if this OS can create whatever little awareness that is possible it will be a new beginning.

For this one I liked that you delved into the legal aspects of the crime as well as focused on Khushi's recovery and clubbed it with the societal aspect of it.

Kudos to you! Heres hoping to see some more OSs on these lines😊

great start NB! indeed a much needed topic to start with..! my heart cry out for khushi in this! this is something which khushi has done to be followed by other women in the society..to stand up and fight! fight to punish the culprits! fight to prove that they are not just piece of trash only coz they are disfigured!

this is something which arnav has done to be followed by all the other husbands and relatives! to support and show love! only support and love from the dear ones can bring back the lost confidence of a woman!

ppl like shyam are very much prevalent in society,,,coz of their mental conditions they destroy a woman/girl's life by throwing these acids,,,,they are abnormal but atleast the others are not,,! if a person is asking for acid didnt one has to inquire FOR WHAT? acid is not something like edible oil which is used on a daily basis in kitchen!

they must be punished but the LAWYERS are always available for their defence to prove that they are INSANE, NOT IN GOOD MENTAL HEALTH etc etc...! if they are insane then why are they moving freely on roads...! put them in freaking asylums!

Various NGOs are nowdays helping women in seeking justice and there are many women like khushi who are trrying to deal with with menance and as u already mentioned about that case...! its a first step in curbng thses kinda problems,,!

women just have to SPEAK UP for their rights and husbands just have to SUPPORT their wives!

not only husbands but the other family members too!
