Chapter 9

A/N: Im sorry i couldnt reply to many comments here but i will try to do so very soon. My projects are really due that is why PM's will be sent a little late. Till then i hope you enjoy reading and keep commenting because i read every single comment and each one of them means a lot to me. Happy reading!

*At Gupta house*

Garima: areh Khushi bitiya zara yahan toh aana..

Khushi: jii

Garima: bitiya…who tere bauji aur hum tujhse kuch kehna chahte hain (you dad and I want to say something to you)

Khushi: jii maa kahiye..

Garima: beta who tere liye rishta aaya hai…

Khushi was shell shocked would be an understatement! What was this? Why was devi maiyya playing with her emotions? Now what would she do? How will she deny her parents and tell them that she was falling for her boss? What would they think about her? How will they react?

Shashi: beta na mat kehna….rishta bahut acha hai… aur tumhare liye isse acha rishta nahin ho sakta hai..(beta please don't say no. this is the best proposal one can get)

Garima: haan Khushi.. who bahut ache log hain aur tum bahut khush rahoge…(they are very nice people and you will be very happy)

Khushi was in tears now.

Khushi: maa..main? abhi?...woh…

Garima: tum jaldbaazi mein kuch mat kehna bitiya. Ache se soch lo. Magar umeed hai ki tuhe humare faisle par bharosa hai ki hum tera bhala chahte hai (don't make a hasty decision. Take your time to think but we hope that you trust us and understand that we want the best for you and our decision is right)

Khushi was in turmoil.

She didn't know what to do. She just ran to her room and closed the door behind her crying bitterly. After crying for a few hours she decided that she could not go against her parent's decision. They love her and want the best for her. But her heart would not go for this decision.

But she could not just break their hearts for the sake of this attraction she shared with Arnav.

And how could she possibly tell them about Arnav because he had not said anything about being in love with her let alone wanting to marry her.

Things were just getting perfect when this happened!

*Next Day at AR Corp*

Arnav: Khushi! In my cabin NOW!

Khushi ran quickly with the files she was sorting and his coffee and picking up the letter he asked for from Aman's desk and reached his table her breathing still hard due to the running. And in the next instant she could feel him standing right beside her. Offering water to her. She took it and drank thirstily while he smiled.

Arnav slowly mumbled in her ears….

" I'm sorry baby that I make you run like this. Care to punish me?"

And in the next instant she felt his breath on her neck and her breath hitched when she felt his lips touch her skin lightly. She closed her eyes trying to give some sense to her blank mind. She couldn't think. She couldn't act. She could just FEEL!

She could feel light butterfly kisses on her neck tickling her senses.

She wanted to feel like this ALWAYS! It just felt so damn RIGHT!

RIGHT?

Then her mind started to work again. All the memories of previous night refreshed. She was bound to get married to someone else. And what was she doing here? Why was this happening to her?

She moved away making Arnav a bit confused but he thought she was uncomfortable and he whispered a sorry making her close her eyes in awe.

Arnav: I'm sorry Khushi I should not be forcing myself on you like this. But….but..(he tried to gather his thoughts)…but…whenever I see you I don't know why I lose all the control that I have!...i am sorry baby I promise I will try to keep in my limits next time…

Khushi just couldn't control herself anymore…she turned around and hugged him as tightly as she could making Arnav stumble a bit but he was overwhelmed as he hugged her back. He was scared when he thought she was angry he kissed her again. He kissed her hair lightly and kept her in his warm embrace for what seemed like eternity.

She felt so perfect in his arms.

She made up her mind that she would say no to the alliance and she would discuss this with Arnav soon. Very soon.

It was evening and Khushi was packing her stuff when Arnav entered her cabin.

Arnav: Khushi. Let me drop you home?

Khushi: nahi arnavji hum chale jayenge..

Arnav: Khushi ….please!

Khushi: aap aisa kyun karte hain?

Just then Arnav's phone buzzed and he replied to Khushi while reading the message on his cell.

Arnav: its not that. Its just recently there has been a lot in the news about eve teasing, kidnapping and all that I don't want you to go alone on the roads looking for a rickshaw.

Khushi was overwhelmed by the concern.

Khushi: par baaki sab bhi toh….

Khushi couldn't complete her sentence when Arnav held her by the shoulders. "Tum mere liye baaki sab mein nahi ho! Samjhi tum?? I don't want to lose you at any cost! Get it damnit?"

Khushi was getting surprised everyday by his behavior. How could he be so protective about her so she just plainly agreed for him to drop her.

While in the car Arnav told Khushi that he got a message from Aman saying that the date for their fashion show was now confirmed and that Aman said all the foreign delegates would also be attending so they needed to be perfect now. It was one week later and Khushi was to help Aman for the preparation.

Khushi sat cross legged on her bed taking out all the decoration criteria booklets and some beautiful designs as she busied herself with the work so she would not think much about the proposal. She was able to concentrate because she was home alone with Payal who was busy watching her favorite TV serial "Bhooton Ka Teyohaar"(The Ghost's Festival!) and the rest of the family members were away for a pooja ceremony at buaji's friend's house.

Khushi put her long silky hair up in a bun so she could work without it falling on her face. She took out a pen and paper and started making a schedule for the preparations. Just as she began her phone beeped..

"If I know you well, you have started preparing for the fashion event. ~A"

Khushi smiled at the text and replied. "You do know me well Arnavji aur aap ke paas koi kaam nahi hai? Mujhe pareshaan karne ke alawa? ~K"

Arnav read her text and he could imagine her smile as she must have replied. He smiled thinking too. She really does know how to tease me. But I am Arnav Singh Raizada…

"Nahi. I don't have any other work to do. Should I join you? ~A" he already knew she would gasp at the reply and then her mouth will be in a perfect "O". He chuckled. This girl is seriously mad.

And as he predicted she gasped and made an "o" with her mouth and replied…

"You don't have work but I have loads of work to do!"

He smiled again and replied…

"Let me help you baby…" and he predicted her blush already!

She blushed and replied "Arnavji!!"

"Yeah Khushi?" he replied in an innocent manner making her smile.

"Aap… "She sent an incomplete text not able to find appropriate words for Arnav and instantly a reply came..."Main kya Khushi?" She smiled and replied "Kuch nahi".

For a few minutes they both waited for each other to reply but none had words. So finally Khushi gave up and texted him a goodnight and the reply came "Can I hear you say goodnight in your voice so that my night is actually good?"

Khushi smiled at his sweet response and called him up as he picked up before one full ring she realized how desperate he was to talk to her. "Goodnight Arnavji" said Khushi. "Bas?" he asked not wanting to end the convo Yet!

"Kyun? Aur kuch tha?" Khushi asked confused.

"umm nahi but can you just… umm..just…stay on the phone for a while…" and with that he added a small "Please!" and Khushi melted. How couldn't she when the Arnav Singh Raizada was actually saying please to her!

"Theek hai "smiled Khushi.

They stayed on the phone like for one hour or so without saying much, hearing each other breathe. They felt so content even in the silence. Khushi had never felt this way before. She never knew even silence could be so meaningful. She learnt something new from Arnav.
