part 4: THE HOLD OF A DAUGHTER!!!

the princess lay on the crib as guests kept pouring in admiring the little fairy and showering their wishes to the new parents...

buaji and nani were often trying to choo away the evil eyes on their granddaughter or grand princess i would say!!

it was all new for arnav.. he had not even enjoyed ppl wishing him for his birthday but today he felt all the wishes were still not enough for him... the joy was still fresh in his eyes!!!

he watched aunt meera walk in and pick up the kid in seconds and he kissed her so tight that arnav's

heart almost reached his mouth and he let out a silent what the! which was noticed only by

khushi...and the minute she walked away he had walked close to the crib to check if the princess

cheeks were fine but there she laid quiet and pleasant...khushi smiled watching arnav walk often to

check on his little darling after every guest dropped her back in the crib... how he wishes the visiting

hours would end soon...



he had never seen kids all his life and of course when most of his life was in AR this was expected of him...

he never carried her since morning... buaji had asked him to but after she was out of that towel arnav was too scared to hold her...

AMan walked in with a huge boquet and a huge gift... he congratulated arnav and khushi... khushi

had become almost like a sister to aman and many a time was her partner in crime when it came to

surprising arnav...

khushi: bhaiyya... wont you lift your niece...

arnav thought to himself.. ha he's not a father yet .. he wont be able to do it...

but to his shock aman walked straight to the crib lifting the baby in such ease and looked like princess ASR liked aman too...

arnav: unbelievable!! he did it so easily...

aman finally left the room with arnav following him as they were discussing some office matter

just before they left

aman: congratulations ASR.. your daughter is pretty...

arnav: oh thanks.. btw can i ask you something???

aman: yeah...

arnav swallowed for words and finally in a meek voice: how can you carry kids so easily.. i mean... its easy for me ... i am a dad now and i handle kids but you??

aman hiding his smiles: oh ASR I have my sisters kids at home so i am around them all the while... but its amazing you handle kids greatly

arnav: why... whats so amusing abt that

aman: i have never seen you with kids

why did aman have to know ASR so well...

arnav: oh... you finalize the SHARMA project meeting for next week...

aman chuckled nodding his head as arnav walked back to his room

Mrs.AMAN: what are you smiling at so hard amanji

AMan: oh.. nothing... feels nice to see ASR this way... a NEW DAD... wonder what more is in store

Mrs aman: haha.. true.. he looked so soft today and best of all smiling...

and they walked away talking about the new DAD!!

khushi was still on bed and couldn't get up as she was fresh out of surgery... catheter was still attached as well...

buaji helped her up when a little when she had to feed... it looked like arnav's eyes reflected more pain than the actual pain KHushi felt...

he called the nurse often to check on both his lives!!!

it was dinner time and arnav asked others to go and come after dinner while he has his with khushi...

he got the bowl of soup and fed khushi himself...

khushi: arnavjii loooks like i became the kid.. don pamper me soo much .. it might become my habi then

arnav smiled nad kissed her forehead: may be i would love that habit khushi...

dinner was over and the baby suddenly started crying...

khushi could obviously not get up and handle the baby... and looked like arnav had no choice

he opened the door only to find no sign of any of his house ladies...

khushi could not get up even a bit coz the stitches...

khushi... arnavjiii

arnav rushed to the baby and tried rocking the cradle but all in vain...he looked helplessly at khushi

khushi: arnavjii i think she is hungry.. lift her to me na?? i will feed her

arnav: but khushi.. i don know to... wait for sometime .. buaji will come now.. till then i will rock the cradle.. wait let me call the nurse

but the baby was too loud

arnav was tensed and so was khushi

khushi: arnavjii.. plz.. you have to.,.. i will tell you and you do as i say,,,,,

arnav nodded and walked near the crib...

khushi: arnav ji slid one hand below the kids neck supporting the head


arnavs hand were shivering and slowly whispering: princess.. papa is here... don cry... seee...

khushi: arnavjiii

arnav slowly slid his hand beneath the baby's neck supporting the head



khushi: now slid you other hand behind his back arnavjii.. thats all... don leave the support of the head... kids are too fragile...

arnav did as told and he slowly lifted the baby out of the crib...

the baby cried less now but still was crying with its eyes shut tight...

arnav felt its soft body in his hands... it was different from the moring when he had lifted her with the towel around...

her little toes wiggled against his hands and when he pulled her close was hitting his chest... the hands were swimming int he air ... and the baby held a cute frown crying with its eyes still shut...

arnav felt nervous and carefully walked near khushi ... he had laready helped khushi to sit a but up against the back rest...

he placed his angel softly in her arms

khushi slowly lifted her soothingly: beta!! why are you crying.. mama is there with you...

she cradled the baby in her arms talking sweet things and slowly when the baby reduced crying held her close to her chest and began feeding the baby...

the baby's sucking pressure made her wince with pain coz the strain and arnav immediately held the kid close to her making her hands free so that she could strain less as the baby feeds...

tears were down khushi's cheeks and arnav was watching her feed for the first time

arnav softly: khushi... does it hurt too much??

khushi smiled at him: little arnavjii...

arnav kept looking at her

arnav: khushi... cant the pain be made less... some tablets or something??

khushi couldn't control laughing out... here sat a man who the world thought was kadoos and a know it all but he was right in front of her innocently framing questions...

arnav: whats so funny khushi??

khushi: arnavjiii... i don think there are and even if they exist i don need them... this is not a pain arnavjii.. this is a blessing... a blessing every woman dreams of and every mother is proud about...

arnav smiled and nodded his head...

khush slowly lifted the baby with arnavs help and placed her on her shoulders rubbing her back

arnav: why do you do that??

khushi: oh she has to give a burp arnavjiii.. otheriwise the milk might coz suffocation

arnav: oh.. khushii.. how do you know all this??

khushi: preeto stayed in our place with her baby.. buaji thought me!!

arnav smiled as kushi was swaying the baby and she yawned cutely making them smile watching her cute antics

finally the baby was done and fell asleep in khushi's hands

khushi: she is sooo cute while sleeping.. just like you and leaned a bit kissing arnav in his cheeks!!!

arnav smiled whispering: we have to with the most beautiful woman making us fall asleep

khushi blushed a red and transferred her to arnav's hand and khushi asked arnav to place the baby in the crib...

arnav did and just as he was about to the baby opened its eyes as if to cry

arnav immediately held her back in his arms and tried swaying the baby to and from him.. as if front and back

khushi giggled

arnav looked at her: what??

khushi nothing

the baby again started crying

arnav: khushi when you cradled her she slept but she is crying again?? feed her again..

khushi: arnav ji sje just had her feeds ... she wants to sleep...

arnav: she cried the same ay?? how do you know??

khushi smiled: may be i have my secrets with her too LAAD GOVERNOR

arnav let out a sigh still trying to cradle the meekly crying baby.. he went near tp place her in the crib and she cried more and the minute in his hands with his weird swaying technique she cried less

arnav: khushi ask her to stop crying???

khushi: come here...

arnav came close...

khushi made arnav sit beside her and held his hand with the baby and swayed it left to right and the baby slowly fell asleep

arnav: oh so this is how it is... not like how i did!! i am so dumb khushiii

khushi: not dumb.. you were cute actuallyyy and she chuckled

arnav:shut up khushiii

khushi: hmm looks lik your princess is happy sleeping in your arms

arnav smiled: khushi shall i place her back.. she is asleep

khushi: even i am asleep arnavjii.. you place her and go eat something first

arnav: ya okay... you take rest.. they have given you drugs right.. so you must be sleepy

khushi nodded

the minute he walked to place the baby in crib she started crying

khushi: no problem just rock her sometime and she will fall asleep

arnav: no see she does not cry in my arms..

klhushi: but how long will you hold her.. your hands will hurt too and you din eat even... place her in the crib and rock her she will slowly fall asleep

arnav: but why when she can sleep happily here.. let her sleep in my arms khushi.. once she is fully asleep i will place her back.. i am fine don worry!!



khushi smiled looking at arnav knowing it was useless arguing with him... she lay down watching him

sway her to and fro across his chest kissing and smiling at his princess.. .. all these days she thought

she was the luckiest woman but looks like her daughter would make her go jealous!! she chuckled and

fell asleep before she could realize



arnav held his little princess in his hand... she was sleeping cozily along the length of his hands as if

it was a cushion bed!!! he kept swaying till she fell fully asleep on his hands

he looked at her... the warmth feeling he received holding his princess... his blood... a part of his

own... was so heavenly... he looked down at khushi who was sleeping peacefully and the kid...



and a tear escaped his eyes... THE MAN WHO ONCE THOUGHT HE HAD NONE BUT HIS DI IN THIS

CRUEL WORLD... TODAY SAT AMIDST TWO BEAUTIFUL LADIES WHO had made a world around

HIM... LOOKED LIKE HE HAD BEEN GIVEN A NEW REASON TO LIVE... LIVE FOR THEM WHO TO HIM

MEANT THE WORLD



he thought she was done and tried placing her in the crib but there she goes... waaahhh...


and the minute she was in her dad's arms she was quiet..

arnav knew it was pointless trying to place her back in the crib.. he din want to himself...


he slowly moved to the recliner by khushi's side and settled caring not to budge his hand even a little

least the princess gets disturbed and kept looking into her face which held a smile like expression even

in her sleep



he slowly touched her little fingers using his and to his surprise she caught hold of one of his fingers

and continued to sleep... he smiled as he felt joy flutter within him and he watched his princess in awe... he tried removing his finger not wanting to disturb her but she was ASR 's afterall.. she held it tighter and fell asleep... arnav sat with her in the arms holding her in the same position admiring her asleep

... she was just like her mom holding his hands in sleep... they felt secured holding him close but least did they know that it was him feeling the most secured!!!

i am sure most of us would have made our dads sit with us giving them a tuff time with our only language WAAAHHH...they have sacrificed too mush for us and its never possible to give it back to them!!! but the one thing that could help to an extent is to LOVE THEM AND RESPECT THEM ALL OUR LIFES!!!!

Aww this is one of the most beautiful story I have read about a father and daughter. Superb. It's so realistic as I am going through the same phase, my 3 months old daughter n her father behave almost in the same way, sidelining me and having a gala time together 😆😆 fantastic updates, looking forward to read next.
