Arnav's relation with his mother is very realistic and lovely. Mothers have this uncanny ability to read through their kids' minds. I have a similar relation with my mom and I am careful not to bring up topics with her that I don't want to disclose everything about. Because if I do, she'll come to know everything about it no matter how less I talk about it. In short, you have written about this relationship very well.
I'm glad that Arnav is doing some soul searching here. There's probably more of that to come. The fact that he brought up 'the older woman' issue with his mom just goes to show how confused Arnav is about everything.
I wonder what is going on in Khushi's world though - haven't got a glimpse of that for quite sometime now. I'm sure you'll reveal in due time what is the arrangement between Khushi and Ashima. But I can't stop myself from speculating about it. Although to be honest, my speculations seem to be rather poor and unsatisfactory. 😉 Given your immagination and story telling capabilities, I'm suspecting the real deal will be far better than any of my speculations. 😊
Lastly, I know its a lot of work to write an update and you have just posted one today. But I can't stop myself from saying, please update as soon as possible. 😳

Welcome back Meera...

Thank you for the truckload of south indian swami...I am still reeling under the volley of kaapi, chutney, aiyoos and well i substituted the idli with crispy dosa...😛

Well not at all surprised at Aparna questioning her parenting style any one would i guess be a little taken aback to hear your son talk like this.
Well a son whom you have brought up with lot of leniency and independence as per the society std at least.
Swami just took his conversation with his amma to a new high and spoke about lot of things that well a amma will not want to know about.

But i will want to confess Meera that i am really intrigued to know how and where you are going to take this story now.
I have no clue but i am just going to sit back and enjoy the ride as it unfolds.

Pasting my comments from the blog for friends not on it...

Extremely sorry for my tardiness in updating my comments, just got caught up in other activities...

Firstly, the picture had me salivating for hot idlis & chutney, that too on a banana leaf, pure bliss!! I have been craving for idlis since the time I saw this picture, have to have some soon...

Coming to the chapter... As expected, Arnav's rendezvous with La triggered his self-introspection leading to his epiphany that, "He was chasing a dream that wasn't in his blood – it was just a fancy – an unfortunate byproduct of his work."... "He was taking stock of what he wanted and what he was capable of." Phew! finally, about time I must say... What did he think, he could be good at anything & everything?!?!? ;) Hope the war he was alluding to was the war of winning over Khushi & fighting against AM... Would love to see him do that ;)
Aww Amma decided to pay her truant son a visit after all... Armed with idlis & chutney & his favorite kaapi ;) If Mohammed will not go to the mountain, the mountain must come to Mohammed right? ;) Amma is watching out for her 'kanna' no doubt... Loved to see the easy camaraderie between the mother & son... But Arnav in his interest to use his liberal amma as a sounding board did manage to startle her... When will he learn?? But I am glad that he got to hear her thoughts about things that have begun to bother him as well...

So, "When had he even decided he needed to be better?" - Around the time when a certain pair of hazel eyes were spitting fire at him & wondering if he indeed was the opposite of his name ;)

Lovely update Meera, eagerly waiting to read more :)

I can honestly say that I'm confused about what's going on, especially related to what's going on in Arnav's head...but that confusion is making me more intrigued with the story...I have so many theories in my head, but I highly doubt you will take your story in that direction...so I'm just going sit back and enjoy this wonderful story that you're weaving.

I do have to say I just love Arnav's mom and the way you have portrayed her. She definitely see's through Arnav and I can imagine that she will form the connection between Arnav's question and Aashima soon.

Have been missing Khushi in the last couple of chapters...but I imagine her to be hurt still after her last encounter with Arnav.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Comment on Chapter 14 and 15:

The first was all about a girl named Lavanya, and I loved it!
You have the unique talent of utilizing characters to tell us so much about the other character...am I even making sense?

And then you give us a Swami-ful update, and his adorable Amma!
The entire mother-son conversation was brilliantly written, Meeraji.
Her worry, her intuition, his confiding in her, everything was penned so well!

So Swami is happy that Seasons is on hold, huh?
And he acknowledges the fact that Khushi is messing with his head in every way possible.
The question of Ashima still remains, I wonder how he is going to go about that now?

Can't wait for the next A-K confrontation!
