the 1st part is really nice dear...so shilpa and armaan finally met after long time but not face to face...wonder, if they can remember such a small incident from past that they have met before 😲

STRANGERS?

After sharing pleasantries with all her relatives and cousins, shilpa was finally allowed to rest for a while..since nikita was busy today, she had promised that she would take her shopping the next day..it was evening today anyways and shilpa agreed to borrow niki's night suit for the day.. also since there were a lot and lot of relatives in the house..niki's mom told shilpa to go and sleep in bi's house..for a second shilpa thought bi was one of the relatives only but it was India! here neighbors are no less than family,she was told. and though bi was of a different religion, she had a heart of gold..she made shilpa comfortable and even massaged her head when she had complained of headache, shilpa wondered if this was what mother's love was like.. she smiled thinking how her own mother would have done the same with her..if only her mother had been with her...

She saw that aunty again...the same lady from the train..she was talking happily and the aunty was telling her to sleep peacefully and that she would take care of her luggage..and then suddenly there was somebody knocking on her head..it was quite confusing..she opened her eyes properly and realized it was a dream! She was sleeping in the bedroom that bi had shown her last night..but there was someone still knocking the door..then she saw the door opening and armaan coming in...armaan? Yeah it was the same man who had dropped them off yesterday and then vanished..what was he doing here? And he had a coffee mug in his hand... "good morning.." he smiled slightly..

She wished she could go up to him and stretch his lips to both ends of his cheeks..why!! why on this earth couldn't he smile properly!!like khul ke!! dill se!

"good morning armaan!"

"uhm..here's coffee for you and uh..get ready and come outside..nikita has already called twice to check on you.."

"yeah..ok" she smiled and as soon as he saw him turn to go after keeping her coffee on the bedside table..she called out.."uh armaan.."

He turned to look at her..."can I have the morning newspaper please?...aur uhm..ye tumhara ghar hai?" she asked in a small voice..he just nodded and went away..

She got ready in the denims that niki had given her for the day and went outside to find armaan sitting on the dining table reading the sports page of the newspaper that was missing when she had read the paper earlier..she went and sat besides him.."armaan is a muslim name?"

"no" he looked up at her and answered..

"uhmm...to phir? "

"kya to phir?..oh!!..uh..bi is not my mother..she is like my godmother..my parents stay in the UK.."

"oh! tabhi toh I was thinking!" she exclaimed as she made herself more comfortable..."vaise armaan why do I feel I've seen you somewhere..aap kabhi new york aaye ho kya?"

She saw him smiling..it was a naughty smile..she hadn't seen him smile like this in two days.."what?" she asked when she couldn't understand his expressions.

He held her by her hand and took her to his room.."wh- what are you doing armaan? Armaan aap kya kar rahe ho?"

He took her to his cupboard and brought out a bracelet from his drawer...she observed it and then said..."ammy?"

"yes ms.bracelet" he smiled suitably this time...

"omg! Aap ammy ho? of course! How can I forget! Aapki wajah se I had to change my clothes that day and I was late for the flight..vo toh there was a flight within 2 hours after that varna socho mera kya hota! I cursed you so much that day!!..par vo kitne saal pehle tha! Mujhe to yaad bhi nahi tha ab! you recognized me? Hum 1 minute ke liye bhi theek se nahi mile the tab.." and she went on excitedly..

"yeah..I recognized you yesterday only but you were too busy!" both of them came out of his room as they made their way to niki's house now..

"armaan, us din to itna has rahe the..ab aise halka halka smile kyun karte ho?" she asked nonchalantly..

"nahi uh..karta hoon...i-I do smile..I am a normal happy man" he fumbled as he excused himself and went to help niki's mom..she couldn't help but just wonder about him all the time along..

She had been bugging nikki to take her out for shopping but niki's mom had refused her saying the bride is not supposed to go out of the house, so much that when shilpa tried to protest that even the previous day nikki had come to pick her up..she was told that it was only coz armaan couldn't have recognized her,only nobody knew that armaan actually could have recognized her! But alas, sweet that shilpa was,she could never go against her elders! And whoo-ooh! She was more than happy when nikita suggested that armaan would take her shopping..but armaan did not look pleased at all.."main?main kaise jaa sakta hoon nikki? I-I mean..main nahi..koi aur chala jayega.."

"armaan! meri shadi hai..tu chahta hai main upset rahoon?" nikita made a puppy face and armaan smiled fakely.."I am not falling for that! Anyways mujhe kuch kaam hai shaam ko.."

"uh..haan to you can drop me at the mall and aap chale jana apne kaam ke liye..then you can pick me up while returning.." shilpa said enthusiastically..she was more than happy to be with armaan..she felt like they shared some connection..it was probably around 8-10 years back when they had first seen each other and shilpa had hated him then..but he had been such a gentleman since yesterday and shilpa even felt rude for ignoring him like that at the railways station..she wondered if he was mad about that ..she just wanted to make up for it and here he was not ready to be with her! What was wrong with him?! but this suggestion of hers apparently did not leave him with much choice and he, though reluctantly, but agreed to take her for shopping..

He dropped her at the mall and told that he would pick her up in two hours..though shopping alone seemed boring to her,she didn't really have an option..so she shopped for all the functions and even bought some dresses for niki..and also a watch for armaan..she liked it in the first glance and without thinking much, got it for him.. she did not realize when her 2 hours turned into 4 and there was no sign of armaan.. the last time she had come to India was around 10 years back...when she had met armaan,as that thought made her smile,the fact that she did not know any way back home nor did she have armaan's number made her sulk...so chalaoing her dimag attentively,she called up nikita and took armaan's number..but it was busy..and busy again.. he called her back after 10 minutes and told her to be at the coffee shop..

She was sitting in a secluded corner reading a magazine when he entered and went up to her..

"heyy.." he kept his car keys on the table and took the chair opposite hers..she did not look up.."shilpa" he clicked his fingers in front of him..."what is it? Kyun aaye ho aap ab? Kya zaroorat thi aane ki?"

"zarurat nahi thi? Abhi phone par to keh rahi thi jaldi aane ko.."

She humphed .. "shut up armaan! aapne kaha tha aap 2 ghante me aaoge..pata hai main kitna dar gayi thi.."

"Please ek to ye 'aap-aap' kehna band karo..aisa lagta hai I am too old...and I am sorry..maine pehle hi kaha tha mujhe kuch kaam hai..you were the one who suggested this plan...and darne ki kya baat hai? ye koi jungle nahi hai..you wouldn't have been lost! " she just kept looking at him angrily..ek to he came late and upar se he was reproaching her!

"okay! I am sorry..I am really sorry..ab rona mat shuru kar dena please" he said softly this time and she smiled..he smiled too..

"acha coffee piyogi? yahan bohot achi coffee milti hai! ye speciality hai Chandigarh ki" she looked at him amused and said.."armaan we are in cafe coffee day! its not some tea stall exclusive to this place! I have obviously been here before!! "

He smiled stupidly.."I know! I was just trying to cheer you up..wait I'l order something.." he called the waiter and ordered two coffees-black for himself and cold coffee for her..with croissants.. meanwhile she was just looking at him.."what?" he asked amazed..

"you look quite charged up! Mazzak bhi kar rahe ho! kal kya hua tha? Aapko bura laga that I did not notice you on the station? I said na I was too engrossed in the luggage thing..or were you annoyed that I didn't recognize you? Meri memory sach me achi nahi hai..and we met only for a minute then.." and he cut her off in between of her non stop blabber..

"I said na no 'aap' please! And not annoyed at all..i wasn't yesterday also.."he told genuinely..

"to phir itna kam smile kyun? Jaise koi tax lagega..itne sadu types kyun?

"I am not sadu! and I smile..i am happy in my life.."he said not meeting here eyes..

As their order arrived, shilpa initiated the conversation again "so armaan..tell me something about yourself.." she said it on purpose..she thought armaan was just introvert and wanted to befriend her logically first friend in india!

"kya jaanna chhati ho mere bare me ms. Bracelet?" he asked stirring his coffee..

"anything! chalo lets start with what we have in common.."

He looked up at her..he had not understood her sentence.."we don't have anything in common.." he said plainly..

"arre angry young man!! I meant we're both doctors na!..so what field do you specialize in?"

"I am neurosurgeon.." he said graciously..

She waited for him to ask her field and after a moment of silence he said .." you're a gyneac right?"

"hmm..vaise obstetrician hi kaho.. but how do you know?"

Uh-oh! And he was caught.."woh..uh I asked niki yesterday" he said edgily

She smiled inwardly..toh doctor tattoo nervous bhi hote hai!... "and why would you ask niks about me?" she wanted to tease him more!

"uh..actually mera croissant khatm..aur mujhe bhookh lagi hai..i think I will get a cupcake or something.."

He ordered a cupcake for himself and asked she wanted something..she declined but said "doctor hokar itne tattoos?"

He just smiled and nodded politely..

"you like pain, don't you?" she said firmly

He looked up at her..he hadn't expected anything like this..he knew where this conversation was heading..he hadn't talked to anyone about any pain stuff..and he did not even know her,how could she just say it so simply.. he liked pain. It gave him relief..obviously..but he did not want to say that to her..or to anybody for that matter..

"I am a stranger...main thode dino me yahan se chali jaungi..and trust me, strangers are the best people to confide in.." she said it with a strange softness that he hadn't expected..infact he did not expect any softness from anyone in life whatsoever..

She felt she had already said enough..maybe he was just not comfortable..so not making it more edgy for him, she said.. "actually mujhe bhi bhookh lag gyi ab..I'l have a spicy chicken puff.." so they ordered for more food..she was quietly eating when armaan said.. "basket"
