Arjun and Riya sat in the sofa in the big hospital, and waited patiently for the doctor. Actually, Riya was very impatient at first, but she was tired after the long day, so she sat quietly after 1 hours. They were sitting so close, but their hearts were so far away.

Arjun closed his eyes, and the flashes of past came to haunt him.

4years ago, shimla.

Roshni Sarkar, a teacher by profession in Shimla. She was an orphan, her parents died in a terrorist attack back in Kolkata. Riya's mother and her's were very close friends, so after her parents death, roshni moved in to their house in shimla.

She and Riya was totally antithetical characters.Roshni was quite, simple, indoor kind, while the other was stubborn, reckless and don't care a damn type.but yet, they were very close to each other.almost sisters.

Arjun was in Shimla due to some undercover mission.he had gave Roshni lift during a snow fall night and thus he met other person in her family. he fell in love at first sight with Riya, who was so tomboyish, yet so charming. There was an aura of happiness around her, which attracted to anyone.and that aura attracted him too.he didn't reveal his identity then, but after his mission finished, he passed a brief period of time with Riya, Roshni, and her family. they instantly liked them, and Riya also reciprocated his Love.so, the parents contacted themselves and two families fixed the wedding of this two love birds.

But one fateful night changed everything.

Arjun and Roshni went to pick Riya from her College, but got stuck in Traffic. Roshni was quite during the full ride, and Arjun was elated with plans for future, with his dear Riya.

''kal kya hoga, kisse pata Arjun….'' She said, sounding like she was far away from him.

He was startled at her tone. There was so much hopelessness, pain in her voice.

''aise kyu keh rahi ho Roshni? Jo bhi hoga, acha hi hoga..'' he answered, smiling to cheer her up. But she was far away.

''agar aisa hi hain, to mere saath aisa kyu nahi huya, Arjun? Mujhe ane waale kal ke liye dard kyu, Arjun? Mujhe apna pyar kyu nahi mila, Arjun?'' she started to cry.

Traffic has just opened, and he was driving in a free street now. He stopped the car at once.

''why are you saying like this? Aur pyar….kisse?''

After lots of requests and pleadings, she confessed that she loves him, The Akdoo Arjun Rawte, who was soon going to be her sister like friend's husband.

He was really shocked at this. He never thought that Roshni held such emotions for him in her heart. And now he knew it all. He was started to feel guilty, guilty for what? He didn't know…but still, Guilty.

''tum khud ko dosh mat do, arjun. Aur fikar mat karo, main tumhare aur Ri ke beech nahi ayungi.'' She said, tears were falling from her beautiful eyes.

Suddenly, there was a loud sound of horns….a big truck coming towards their car…

''ARJUN….'' Her voice….

And everything over.

Arjun opened his eyes after 3 days in hospital. He came to know that the truck hit their car, and ….

Roshni was dead.

Everyone tried to go back to their old routine, but it was impossible for them.roshni was an essential part of Mukherjee house, and now to the Rawte family too. And most affected was Ri's state. She was traumatized after her death. It took months for her to come back in senses.but she was never herself anymore.

They got married after some months, and Arjun thought now everything will be settled. But fate again was cruel to him…this time it was too cruel.

He was so in love with his Ri, have he ever thought that he had to push her away from him? For her own good?

Has he ever thought that he had to behave like a jerk with her, and had to make her cry, when all he wanted to keep her happy forever?

Has he ever thought that their life will take such a turn, when they are so close to each other, yet so far?

His vision changed from the snowy lanes of Shimla to a beautiful house, his house, where only laughter echoes, where his Ri lives with him….. and there was he too, with her, so close to her…they were dancing, and laughing , whispering to another's ear, and so lost in each other.

they were dancing , she was in his arms, so close to each other that they can here each others heartbeats. She was smiling, her beautiful smile, her eyes were twinkling with happiness.

he hold her palm tight, fearing to let her go for even a second. She was ensuring his fear by smiling her dazzling smile.she leaned on his strong chest, inhaling his scent, smiling , like she is in home, finally.

dil ko mere huwa yakin hum pehale bhi mile kahisilsila ye sadiyo ka koyi aaj ki baat nahijab koyi baat bigad jaaye, jab koyi mushkil pad jaayetum dena saath mera o humnawaazna koyi hai na koyi tha jindagi mein tumhaare sivatum dena saath mera o humnawaaz

suddenly she was leaving, why? Why she was leaving? He tried to hold her tight, but she was slowly slipping from his hold. She was leaving…she was leaving…

"RIYA!!!!" he yelled at once, eyes opened, frantically searching for her.

''what???'' her reply came, little irritated and more concerned for him.

He looked at her voice, and then came back to senses…it was just a dream…a beautiful dream..but just a dream.

Next day, ETF office.

All members were discussing the previous day's case. All, but Riya. She was looking almost every second to her blackberry, very impatient for a call.and all members were witnessing her state and Arjun's orders, managing with great difficulty.

Then, after like an eternity, her phone rang. She took the call, and at once, got up from her sit and literally ran towards the door.

All were witnessing her retreating back with open mouth, trying to understand what could be the possible cause to leave like that, without even making an excuse to Arjun.

He was startled at her action, and waited some seconds to thought what to do. Then he also ran behind her, shooting orders to his members.

''inke actions ka logic, ye hi jaane.'' Chotu said, and shrIza nodded, still looking at the door.

They were at the hospital now, in the special ward. A girl, barely of 23, was lying in the bed.she looked questioningly at the nurse after watching them enter.

''could you just excuse us?'' Riya said to nurse in such a tone that left no room for arguing. And that nurse witnessed her glares and threatenings from last night. She nodded and went outside as soon as possible.

''hi, I am Riya Mukherjee, from ETF. Kal raat ko tum meri gadi ke samne aa gayi thi.maine hi tumhe yahan laya hain.'' Riya said to the girl.

The girl's questioning eyes changed into thanking look. She said, ''thank you so much miss Riya. I am ….''

''roshni Sharma.'' Riya answered.the girl was surprised.

''apko kaise….''

''tumhare college id card se.'' she handed her over a id card.

''if you don't mind, main kuch puch sakti hoon?'' Riya asked her in a most gentle tone. She nodded.

''tum kal raat kin logon se bhaag rahi thi?''

She gasped , remembering the last night's events. She closed her eyes and said,

''who log mere college ke samne har din khade rehte hain, aur ladkiyon ko chedte hain, gandi baatein karte hain. Kal jab maine aur mere doston ne unke khilaf awaaz uthayi, to unlogon ne humein….'' Her voice choked, and stopped abruptly.

''un mein se ek local MLA ka bhai hain.'' She said again, and looked at Ariya accusingly.

''so what? Inse use license nahi mil jayega kuch bhi karne ka…..'' Riya said, confident evident in her voice. She turned to leave when

''suniye…..main F.I.R darj karwana chahti hoon…unlogon ke khilaf.'' Roshni said.

Riya turned to her, smiling at her with proud. She said, ''it can wait, bas tum jaldi se thik ho jao.'' And she left the room
