CHAPTER FIVE

Swayam was still a bit disturbed because of her behavior. He couldn't gauge her reaction, nor did he have her phone number, through which he could contact her.

He was silently walking through the corridor to the class, marking the beginning of a new day. He could not even concentrate on rehearsals that morning, because certainly she had affected him. He thought she was upset because of him, but he didn't know the truth.

He walked to the class slowly, not realizing she was next to him, equally preoccupied, because of god knows what reason.

She had sorted the matter out the previous day. She only him to not remind her of her past often. It made her emotional. And she hated crying.

She walked past him and as she did, her hand brushed against his. She realized it was him and she felt a strong current passing through her. This was unnatural. Her hand had brushed past many others. Swayam was certainly not the first one but still, it was something different this time.

She looked at him and he looked at her. They had a brief eye contact, after which she turned and went to the class.

Maybe she isn't really upset with me. He thought.

He went to the class behind her and sat next to Rey. The professor entered and began teaching.

Sharon was concentrating on what was being taught in the class. Swayam couldn't. She was adjacent to him. Swayam couldn't help but steal glances at her. He himself didn't know the reason, but he could only look at her and admire her innocence. She was trying hard to concentrate and she looked impassive, yet innocent.

She tucked a lock of hair behind her ears and turned towards him.

"What?" She mouthed.

Swayam had a smile playing on her face all through the while.

"What?" She mouthed again. That's when he realized what a stupid thing he was doing by staring at her like a jerk. "Nothing." He mouthed and shook his head and resumed doing his writing work.

"Coffee??" She heard an angelic voice say to her. Sharon was sitting in the canteen preparing her notes like a studious student.

She looked up to see a grinning Swayam looking at her expectantly.

"No.. You have." She said and resumed doing her work.

Like an uninvited guest, Swayam sat on the chair kept in front of her.

"Won't beat around the bush..Just wanted to know if you are upset because of me or no." He said in a straightforward manner.

"I'm not upset." Sharon said.

"Yes you are...Or at least you were upset yesterday...Don't know what happened."

"If you are talking about yesterday, then let me make one thing very clear to you.. I was not upset because of you..i thought you know about it."

"How would I know if you don't talk to me?"He questioned her.

"Okay you didn't? Now you do. I was not upset because of you."

"Cool... So I got a cup of coffee for you."

Sharon looked at the cup. "What's your obsession with coffee?"

"I just like it. You don't?"

"It's nothing like that.. I do like coffee but..."

"But what?"

"I don't have it on a daily basis."

"Ok so I'll have it." He said and held the cup containing the ultra yummy cappuccino. He took a sip of it, and as he was about to have a second sip, Sharon stopped him.

"How rude is that?" She asked. Swayam couldn't gauge her statement.

"What is rude?"

"You drinking coffee."

"That's not rude. I asked you.. You said you didn't want it."

"You should have at least asked me twice or thrice! I'm your friend... And girls react like this only! And on the top of it, you sit back and enjoy your cappuccino?" She said staring at him.

"Friend? I'm your friend?" He asked questioningly.

"Umm..." She recollected that he had never asked her to be his friend or vice versa.. They had never done that official friendship hand shake, so she extended her arm forward.

"Friends?" She asked him.

"Friends." He said approvingly and forwarded his arm to meet hers.

Umm.. I guess you all know that the story would be mostly written in Sharon's POV..Swayam's POV would be there.. But less. 😳
