That is one cruel, twisted psych experiment. If one were to start listing the problems and the loopholes of such a case study, there would be no end to it. Scientific and statistical errors aside, what is with bringing perfectly healthy homeless or orphaned children for medical experimentation - law enforcement helped them in this scheme? But what stands out is that they managed to leave children traumatized and scarred for life. Dr. Sharma, he is no better than Mengele.

This is such a shocking truth. The Experiment was Morally Ambivalent.. It reminded me of the the experiments which the cruel Nazis carried out on the helpless Jews, without the anaesthetic.. Just because they were giving shelter to the orphaned kids of the Antisocials, doesn't mean that they can carry out any kind of psychological experiments.. They wanted to see whether the sociopath, psychopath, narcissist or sadist genes were inherited or not.. And in the process, they ruined the lives of these kids.

I think that the first boy who used to rile her up was Arnav.. And the second boy who killed the cat to satisfy his curiosity to see whether the cat met the same fate as of the dead bird or not, is the serial psychopath killer of the story. This is because Khushi said that the second boy was her best friend, and she could almost tell/know what he would do.. That perhaps explains why Khushi could so vividly picturise the murders done by the second boy.
She is just attuned to his thought process.

You mentioned that the second boy and Khushi saw how the blue colour of the bird (signifying the Skin colour of the bird) faded with time. Then the boy who was only
five-six year old killed a cat to see if it disintegrated with time or not.. So, may be the second boy had picked up a dangerous obsession of seeing/observing the skin of female human beings to lose colour and disintegrate away.

I was so shocked when Khushi wanted to kill the first boy and watch him.. wither away. Blood-curling.

.. And I was always interested to know that how the Romance will unfold in this unusual scenario.. Sigh.

Nothing like a crisp thriller, RB. So definitely with you on your decision to keep up the pace.

And so it happens to so many - people, human treated as objects of research - a necessary evil to understand better and yet sometimes maybe unfair to the human being in question itself.

This case is particularly dramatic and reaction provoking, but doesn't this happen a lot in the medical profession - and when it comes to genetics and pschyology, it can have far reaching implications.

Brilliant writing as always

PS: Am actually glad this is just Thriller - romance might have been in the way...I think...Or maybe...ah well...Author rules

Guinea pigs, that was what came to my mind on reading this update. Yes, this is a classic case of nature vs. nurture.

i don't know what to say after reading. It's a crime if they do such experiments...lots happen around us which we are not even aware...children r very precious , if any scars happen at avery young age...it drives them for life emotionally and do affect their personality. Looking forward...

It would have so I stopped it before I could go to far. Chapter #11 has all the romance there is in this story :=)
