Can we respond to the Author's note on the thread, which may be about when they will update a story? Or anything else, but not an update of the story itself?

Note -> No. It's expected that you just hit the Like button and send your words of understanding and compassion through PM or scrap. That way, new readers and/or DT that needs to review the thread can easily go through the thread, with only chapters and discussions of the plot/story to go through instead of numerous 'We understand' comments. So, that would also be considered unacceptable. However, as Z pointed out below [quoted post], if you're dropping a late comment on a chapter, you can add your response to the note as a sidenote in that same comment.

Non-related images or videos will be considered spamming. This is the fan fiction forum. Any other images can be posted at the relevant show forum or the Members Lounge forum. Videos can be posted at the Videomix Forum.

If the image/video is related to the story though, you may post that in a FF thread. However, posting an image or video in multiple posts is not permitted. Try and post them in ONE comment.

In reply to the numerous questions about fanfics, make sure you have the author's permission to talk and discuss about the upcoming storyline cause if the author doesn't want that in the thread then we don't have a choice but to delete the comments. Most of the authors usually don't mind so that shouldn't be a problem, however its always good to ask first =)

An example of this was when recently I got numerous reports for spamming because the author put up a picture pertaining to their story, and readers went on to create their own stories and started posting pics and playing "caption this" in the thread. That is considered spamming lol

^I think that's more related to the response of members when authors post a note of their absence.. Like I said, hit the like button and send a PM. Don't post at the thread even if the author gives you permission.. we don't give you permission to do that.

1. Yes. Even if it is a 'Nice' Criticizing a story is also a comment ;-) Like 'Bad' Using an emoticon like 'thumbs up' is also a comment because some readers are not comfortable vocalising their thoughts in words yet they would like to comment

2. There is no limit to how many times you appreciate the whole story or parts of it. As long as you are talking about the story :-)

3. According to the new forum rules given here www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3385280 it is considered spamming. but if you say something along with it then its fine :-)

4. I think if you say some thing about the story along with an update soon it shouldnt be a problem how many times you say it :-)

5. Yes you can quote and discuss the story :-)
