I hate to put up notes. Trust me I do. But this year I have found about 4 cases of plagiarism.
The first was a section of Scandal which was copied onto a story on Myeduniya. I had the admin remove the section, however unfortunately the user ID is still active there.
Then today I found about 3 cases of plagiarism.
The first was again of my SS: Scandal - the entire short story had been copied and pasted on a facebook page by someone and no credit had been given.
I tried contacting the admin but they refused to reply to me so I had no option but to report it there and here.
Then I found 2 more cases of plagiarism.
The second as my OS Leave her Alone. That had been copied onto 2 separate facebook pages, and neither of the admins had given me any credit NOR had they asked for my permission.
The third was A Valentine Jealous - found on the same facebook page which had copied my OS Leave Her Alone. Her admin name is Sarah, however I have no idea what her username is
The audacity of this admin was to rename my fic and call it her own. She got likes for it, from innocent readers who thought it was her work, when it wasn't .
I know as readers you probably don't care, so why am I writing this? It's because I know that person who copied my OS's was a reader of mine. She copied two OS's which are Members only, and No copy. She copied OS's from a writer who has made it clear that I do not want any of my stories copied.
That makes me wonder how many readers reading this story are doing so with an intention to copy snippets here and there and paste it in their story.
I am so disgusted and hurt right now, that I can't even put it in words. The fact that my hard work and my creativity was stolen in such a manner - and that person did not even have the balls to admit their mistake when I facebook-ed them really cut me.
Don't worry I am not discontinuing my fics. I am gonna continue my stories, however I think for the time-being all my SS's and OS's are going to be removed from IF till we get some more strict rules against such plagiarisers.
Anyway, I made a thread highlighting facebook pages with plagiarised content to warn readers not to like or read them.
This is a request - if you do visit those pages through this link do not abuse or attack the admins. You will be in trouble if you do. All I ask you to is not like the page, report the content, and move on.
I would also appreciate your help if you would support me in fighting off plagiarism. Enough is enough.
I am sick and tired of writing a new chapter and wondering which plagiariser is going to attack now.
