thank you for the pm... getting the facts straight from khushi's mouth is a nice touch... the clash of egos is interesting... khushi planning all sorts of ways to let bygones be bygones only to have arnav ignore her throughout... but their concer for each other is ever-present... khushi's jealousy on seeing sheetal was funny... now that she has got the opportunity to ask arnav the questions she wants to ask of him, hope her anger doesn't spoil everything, making things awkward... the way arnav's eyes followed her on the dance floor, looks like he isn't as immune as he pretends to be!

It's actually kind of close to what you've concluded, the situation that is. He does care for her happiness, of course he does, but he would currently like to think it's more because she still is somehow his best friend - I'm not saying that's what he thinks, "LIKE" being the operative word 😉

He approaches her only when necessary (after the party i.e.), because he cares. If they had been on good terms, Aman would never have needed to stay back for her because Arnav would have been there. However, in this situation, Arnav is still there, because through all the indifference he still cares!
