sheetal is another self-obsessed, manipulative opportunist... she sure has a very high opinion of her powers of seduction... to send arya to a boarding school, and that too abroad... am sure arnav and the rest of the raizadas will have something to say about it! her plans for their future were galling, and cold-blooded enough to leave me speechless... can't really be sure, but there seem to be quite a few similarities between lavanya and sheetal! anyway, loved reading of sheetal getting her comeuppance!
lovely to see that, in the midst of his recriminations of himself, arnav instinctively trusts khushi... very typical asr tactics: scared of losing khushi, so treat with brutality and hurt her heartlessly so as to strengthen the chances of losing her... 'act in haste, repent at leisure' seems to be the motto he lives by! damn right that one loses all sense of proportion when in love! can't make out why arnav is so suspicious of shyam... except for that hint about him having tried to gain custody of arya, his actions seem to have been on the up and up... anyway, only the truth about arnav's past could give us a better picture... hopefully, his mistrust of shyam will spur him on to reveal his past to khushi... what a fellow, it's the fact that she can read him instinctively and accept him warts and all, that seems to have scared him into taking refuge in his room... couldn't believe that, rather than facing or comforting khushi, he was so cowardly as not to apologise or to face what lies between the two of them! of course, his sense of guilt and confusion, combined with rampaging desire, may be clouding the issue, preventing him from seeing things clearly!
totally agree with his comment about his disastrous and screwed up thought processes! despite everything his body and mind are finely attuned to khushi's... nice wordplay: It was as if his entire control resided in the palms of his hands...
Shit! The water wasn't cold enough anymore must be the understatement of the century! good that arnav managed to control his rampant desire and calm khushi's too before things spiralled out of control... if they had made love, without truly clearing up their fears and insecurities or understanding why they were drawn to each other, it could have opened up a world of hurt in the future... though seemingly looking for the easy way out, arnav is asking truly pertinent questions that require answers... both need to face and acknowledge to themselves and to the other what is in their hearts
khushi's thought processes were very finely etched... her anger acts as a spur, making her reveal her true feelings... her words brought to mind the airport scene, making me feel quite nostalgic... "You can now use this knowledge to hurt me all over again!" is indicative of the fact that she knows very well how he will react...
"Sleep with me tonight?" will they just sleep in the same bed or is this going to be so much more? -- that is the question! can understand khushi's dilemma... maybe this giving on khushi's part [not in any physical sense] will ultimately inspire arnav to be giving in return!
