This is such a beautifully written, poignantly heart- breaking chapter punctuated every now and then, with the pathos of broken dreams!
It was yet again a chapter sans a single dialogue and more of past than the present.. It is kinda a bridge between a Happy past of Khushi's maiden days and the stark reality which is nothing close to even the shadow of her Innocent Dreams.
The way you wrote about Khushi's dreams, can be felt because it is a typical girl thing to do!
But obviously, Khushi's dream is a bit more special - she has intricately woven it with attention to every tiniest detail except the face of her Prince Charming!!
The credit here surely goes to your eye for detail!
In this Chapter, Khushi epitomises-
the girl next door with simple dreams, who tries to seek for the Mirage and in the process gets drowned in the Oasis of reality.
At first, I couldn't get the sudden transition from memories to reality. So, I went a few lines above and read once again.. Khushi seemed to be more matured when she was going down memory lane. The harshness of the barren reality made her realise the futility of the warmth of her dreams. Her rueful smile is the singular example of that.
The interplay between memories and reality was efficiently written. Perfect Sequence!
It is so,so sad to read that there is no semblance of her flamboyant dreams in her bleak reality.
Infact, it is the perfect Antithesis of what she had envisioned a long time ago.
The line where she said that the guy was just doing a "Sanjay-ji, Shahrukh-ji and Salman-ji " version of "I love you" ,.. was really funny!!
Only Khushi can think of a drama to be involved in her desired fairy-tale life. That really cracked me up!!
But Ironically, isn't her life now, a little bit of a half-baked 'love story' if we take into consideration the fights, tears and sad songs??
So, this marriage of Arnav and Khushi had a perfect domino-effect on Payal too, leaving only sorrow and heart-break in its wake. I feel so sad for Payal. She sacrificed her happiness to safe-guard Khushi's supposed Happiness.
Hope she gets her Prince Charming (in the form of Aakash ;) ) soon.
Khushi is caught up in a limbo- neither she can accept her marriage with Arnav and stay within it nor she can walk out of it.
Now, it is more like an obligation,a duty to stay in the marriage. ( In that case, a facade of a happy marriage infront of everyone can also do). Here Khushi is the only person who is suffering the most.
So Khushi's marriage is based upon some kinda contract..
One of the most amazing thing is, this story is uncannily similar to the show at some basic points, yet it has its own charm. For eg. This contract, Payal's first marriage breaking up,Khushi's Rajkumar, etc.
Khushi's pointblank realization that there can be no other relation between them except Hatred, was actually very devastating in its intensity especially because she had never imagined a life like this.. I just hope Arnav resurrects their Relation into something that not only he will cherish but also it will be close to Khushi's dream.
This particular scene where Khushi was packing up clothes, took place after Arnav said that he doesn't need anyone's forgiveness, right?
It was a nicely written chapter. It gives a detailed insight to the secret sacrifices of Payal, broken dreams and how those broken shards of reality annihilates the beauty of a cherished dream.
Looking forward to read how Arnav reacted to the 'No'.
P.s.- Happy Journey!
