Chapter 11

The crowd slowly dispersed after conveying their greetings to her … her body temperature was decreasing every single moment .. she was getting near to a frozen state.. her mind was preoccupied with thoughts … now she is all his …his treasure …her palm slowly went upto her forehead to feel the sindoor, she touched it and lowered her fingers… her lips curved to a soft smile seeing the red color on her fingers …. His first mark….

" di aap kya soch rahe hai .. mmm?" trisha asked with a giggle

"trisha e tu kaisi sawal pooch rahi hai.. ofcourse rey k bare mein , hai na taani" puvi nudged taani teasingly with a giggle.. his name itself send vibes down her spine, which turned her wheatish skin red…

"tum donom na …impossible!!" taani made a cute angry face and walked off from there to her room

"awww!!!" trisha and purvi looked at each other and then ran to taani

"sorry di ..[trisha made a puppy face and taani gave a soft smile, trisha smiled naughtily and continued] accha di all the best ha…"taani reddened again and was about to catch trisha 's ear when she ran off with a naughty smile

Purvi held taani'supper arm and made her face the mirror " bohot khoobsoorat lag rahi hai.." purvi said while taani looked at her friend through the mirror smiling "hayee e hasi today your prince wont be able to take his eyes off your face … enjoy ha " she said with a naughty smile and sprinted off before taani could realize and when she realized she yelled " purvi!!!!" but by the time purvi was out of the room .. she winked at taani and waved a bye with a wink.. taani went near the door and closed it … she turned to face her room… the entire room was decorated with roses and lilly's… she clutched one palm with the other …as her eyes rowamed all through the room….she made slow steps towards the bed and stood by the edge of it , looking at the bed … the white silk bed sheet was cladded with red rose petals…She clutched the bed rest and closed her eyes ….her suhag raat … she had preserved herself for him , her husband , all these years to give herselves for him…her whole body froze with the thought of facing him… her mind was full of questions …how it would be …how will she feel when he would touch her … she closed her eyelids tightly as she clutched the bedrest even more tightly… slowly she opened her eyes.. she faced a mirror which was at some distance from the bed , however she could see herselves clearly in it ….she looked at herselves from head to toe…. Her red transparent designer veil,the mang tika that peeped out slightly outside the veil .. her forehead , the bindi,her noserings.. she touched them with one palm , nervously and then she touched her cheeks with a nervous expression…she closed her eyes and turbned back from the mirror , she slid up the bed and sat on it , and pulled her veil down to cover her face partially and clutched her legs and sat silently … the room was filled with an awkward silence .. she could hear the voice of the clock ticking each second , the voice that was always so feeble , today seemed to be as loud as a big bang … she clutched the koti's of her lehenga even tightly…..

Main hall

The hall was almost empty , everyone was in their rooms… rohan , gaurav, purvi and trisha had gone out ..the rest all family members were in their respective rooms … the main door of the bunglow flung open as rey walked in smiling holding his phone in one palm , remembering some of her words..he put the phone in his pocket , still smiling as he walked in …

"ansh… tum bahar the beta?"rajshri asked from behind and he had to turn back to face her …she kept the thali in the pooja ghar and moved towards him

"ha ma , vo actually , I was in a call" he said smiling remembering the call

"phone?? Ansh raat ke 12 baj chuke hai and beta aj tumhari…"before she could complete he interrupted

"so what mom.. I usually come home late and sleep late , so there isn't anything new if I was in phone at 12 night, aur wise bhi mujhe neend nahi aa rahe hai"

"ansh, beta par aj ka din… [she looked at him with a doubtfull expression , then closed her eyes to leave a sigh and composed herself and continued]Dekh beta .. aaj tumari shaadi ki pehli raath hai .. voh tumara intezar kar raha hoga … tum apne kamrae mein javo…" Rajshri said to rey

"Look mom .. I have told you before this marriage , and I repeat it again..mein sirf aur sirf Kriya se pyar karta hu…"rey said turning his face away from his mom

" lekin beta.."

" look mom ….lekin vekin kuch nahi… mom try and understand… me and kriya .. WE ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP… WE LOVE EACH OTHER .. we decided to spend our life together … shukar hai ki usko iss shaadi se kuch problem nahi .. warna …. Mom meine aapse kaha tha na? that I wont be able to commit myself in this marriage ….phir bhi aapne mere shaadi usss [ he frowned more gritting his teeth] uss Taani se karvaya…. Mein aur taani …. Koi match hi nahi hai mom….[he screamed punching his hand on the wall and then lowered his voice and said].. mom… Dance is my passion….i see my carrer in dance and kriya … kriya aur mein ek hi sapna dekhta hu … dance…. We understand each other…. Mom try and understand…[he rubbed his forehead in frustration] and now you want me to spend my night with her …. No way!!!!!!!….." he marched …. His face burning with anger….. he opened the door of his room with a bang…

She sat on the bed …draped up in jewelry… her head drooped down and face covered with a red designed chunri…. She looked next to an angel… she kept stretching the lace of her duppatta between her fingers …. Her body frozen….. her mind filled with dreams and fear…. Dreams and fear of an ordinary girl about her suhaag raath …..

The banging sound of the door as it was flung open echoed in her ears…. She shut her eyelids hard…and made her grip on the lace more tight …cling!!... he had turned the lock of the door .. she could make out every sound clearly in the silence that filled the room…the tap of his shoes …. They were approaching near ….

He couldn't believe what he saw in front of his eyes …his room decorated with those red rose petals and flowers … he ran his eyes from one end to another …. His eyes caught sight of his bed ….. the white silky bed sheet covered with rose petals , and she sat in the middle with head drooped and covered with her veil…..… she looked like a beautiful butterfly sitting at the stamen of a white lotus…he made his footsteps more towards her … he could see her fingers gripping the lace of her duppatta tightly … suddenly he was brought out of the trance

"vo….[he looked from her to the sides ] e sab karne ki zarroorat nahi hai… [her grip on the lace went one fold loose]you may sleep..… [he turned opposite to the bed]I just.." he said as he wacame to take a file" he said as he walked towards the cupboard

"file??" did she hear it right??? She thought as she tilted her head towards her right … she could see him open the cupboard and pull out a file from the safe, through the transparent veil that covered her face… he opened the file and was cheking something .. after that he closed the file and walked forward… she suddenly turned back to her original posture…her jwellery made those clinging sounds as she turned and gained his attention… he paused to look at her again

"taani , I am sorry "she curved her eyebrows , inside the veil , not getting for what he made the sorry appeal.. before saying anything more he paused to think…shall I tell it now … no, better not , I shall make her understand slowly , not now .. it may hurt her badly if I say it the day of our marriage…

Did he still care for her after ruining her married life like this was the biggest unanswered question….

"ji aap kuch keh rehe the?" taani asked breaking the silence

He frowned hearing her reply ..it changed his soft mood again to a mad one … " what aap , ji and all huhh??"he threw the file on the table nearby and went near the bed and glared at her .. she could see him looking at her through her transparent veil

"till last night you used to call me tum and today all off a sudden everything is changed to aap and ji .. see taani [he pointed his finger and she wondered , whats there to rage so much , cant he speak properly, but she kept mum today contrary to her usual behavior]you don't need to change yourself only because this marriage happened .. he was about to continue his lecture when his phone started beeping again , he pulled out the phone from his pocket and cut the call .. he walked in haste upto his wardrobe and grabbed a jacket and went to change into them from his marriage clothes… soon he came out and took the file and left out…

She wondered what it was that made him that busy at 12 am of his marriage night .. she lifted her veil… her face looked confused and blank … slowly she crawled on the bed and lay on it in a shriveled form… wondering on his expressions , his talks , his behavior .. she closed her eyes …..

He drove his car fast ..the cold night breeze rushed in through the windows .. he switched to his Bluetooth and made a call to kriya.. he could hear the bell ringing like that… but no answer … he tried again…. The phone rang again but still no answer .. it was she who called him when he was talking to taani in their bedroom and now she wasn't answering his calls…

He pressed the brakes in front of her apartment and walked in upto the main door …he frowned realizing that the main door was locked from outside " ghar pe nahi hai..[he looked at his watch ..12.35 am]itne raat kahan gayi hogi".. he rang her up again .. thank God she lifted this time else he would have gone mad

" hi kriya , where are you .."

"kya hua rey.."

"leave that , I am here at your place … tum ghar pe nahi hai??" he asked concerned expecting her to answer where she was ..

Kria was startled as she sat up on the bed of rishab and clutched hr temple in frustration " what the hell!!" she murmured to herself

"vo rey , I am at my friends place … she just came to Mumbai after 2years in US ..so I thought to spend my night with her …[he frowned hearing .. her friend ??? back from US … he knew all her friends and it was for the first time he was hearing about her friend from US, his silence made her understand his doubt , however she was always smart in fooling him and she continued].. rey we were a bit busy .. see you tomorrow .. goodnight " she said I one go and cut the call and relieved a sigh of relief .. she switched off her phone immediately…

Beep .. beep… the beeping sound of the call as it was disconnected rang in his ears … he cut the call and pushed it into his pocket… he looked at the file in his hand , it had papers of the dance academy signed in her name .. kria ghai.. he read the name printed on the papers and stroked it with a smile … "koi baat nahi.. I will hand it to you tomorrow as a surprise …" he closed the file and went to his car and drove back to his home..

Afer half an hour

He opened the main door and walked in .. he walked upstairs to his room and opened the door … he could hear the clock strike 1 am … he walked upto the cupboard and kept the file insde and shut it.. went to the wash room to change into his night clothes … after a few minutes he came out rubbing his face with the towel and walked upto his bed as usual.. when his eyes fell on the beautiful bundle that lay on his bed.. for a moment he paused …unknowingly a smile crept his lips seeing her innocent sleeping face … she looked so beautiful and innocent… he was about to turn away when he saw her palm searching for something on her face .. he paused to watch what she was doing in her sleep…her cute beautiful frown…. He couldn't take his eyes off…she frowned again as her palm failed to catch the thing it was searching for on her face … suddenly she smiled ..he could see her palm struggling to undo her noserings .. they were disturbing her sleep… he couldn't help but smile at her cute frown when she afiled in her sleep to undo them…he sat down on the bed beside her and lowered his face to her… her small soft curls had coverd her face near her nose … he blew a puff of air softly onto them …. She smiled in her sleep feeling the air on her face and he too couldn't resist from smiling seeing her smile…slowly with he lifed both of his hands to undo her nosering .. she turned more to her side making his work more difficult …he looked at her intently .. he didn't want to disturb her sleep ….. he lowered his palms slowly to touch her nosering when they automatically touched her lips… he was trying to undo her nose-ring while the bottom end of his palm rubbed her lips … she frowned cutely in her sleep feeling his skin rub on her lips.. after a lot of research and tries , he finally succedded to remove the nose ring that disturbed her sleep …he smiled at his victory but oops !!! one end of the chain was pinned to her hair …Oh God!! … He frowned .. he bent forward and lifted her head softly and careful enough not to disturb her …slowly he undid the pin from her hair and removed the chain of the nosering… now the entire piece of jewellery was in his palm … he looked at it and then kept it on the side table … slowly he slid out from the bed …. where will he sleep was the next important question…no ways he is gonna sleep with her on the same bed … he turned to the side … his eyes caught the sight of the broad round couch by the side of the dressing table.. he went and lay on it .. it was difficult to sleep on it …for a moment he felt jealous for her sleeping soundly on his comfortable bed … but at the same time he smiled seeing her innocent face… after some time he fell asleep…

She stretched her hand up .. when she felt some weight on them … she frowned ….. she rubbed her eyes .. shhh..she left a soft cry as her soft skin was rubbed with the rings.. crawled a little and sat up on the bed and opened her eyes and that was when she noticed that she slept with the whole jewellery on her ..still in her sleep she slowly slid down and went towards the dressing table and removed them one by one.. she turned to walk when she saw him sleeping on the couch near the table.. a soft smile appeared on her lips seeing his cute face.. she walked upto her bag abd removed her dress from them and went to have her shower.. a few minutes later she came out wearing a red netted designer sari and she walked upto the dressing table she rubbed her hair again with the towel and threw her silky curls to her back … and they left a shower on his face .. he frowned in his sleep feeling water droplets on his face…she moved upto the dressing table .. she looked herselves in the mirror while her fingers where searching on the dressing table[as she did every day] .. annoyed at not finding what she wanted she looked at the table , when realization striked her .. it was not her table..the table had only his things, a watch, a chain and some other things.. shhh .. she bit her lips and smiled .. she moved upto her bag which was kept near the couch to have her things… now her back faced the couch and the tip of her pallu was disturbing his sleep.. it occasionally caressed his face , the designer lace at the edge of the pallu being rough really annoyed him.. he rubbed his face trying to stroke away the damn thing that disturbed his sleep..and it did its mischief at last it got tangled with the chain on his wrist.. she took all the creams , lipsticks and other accessories in her both hands and was about to move .. that was it the pallu was disturbing him so much annoyed he turned to the other side and offcouse his hand will be turned too!!!!!and it pulled her sari with force in one go and she lost her balance at the sudden pull and crashed on him and spilled all the bottles and other accessories on the floor … her eyes where shut .. she bit her lips…he opened his eyes all off a sudden as her weight crashed on him..and he had the most beautiful sight in front of his eyes …. She looked damn gorgeous without any makeup not even a single piece of jewellery.. he couldn't take his eyes off her … how could someone look so cute and beautiful… the way she bit her lips with her eyes shut realizing her mistake… he couldn't help but smile…her soft wet curls caressed his face….he looked at her hands … they clutched his shirt tightly… he was all lost in her, when she mischeviously opened one of her eyes….but seeing him look at her like that she closed it again.. he smiled … he cleared his throat … "ab utna bhi hai ya …" she opened both eyes instantly and was about to get up when she felt a pull back again… she looked towards the direction of the pull and found that her pallu was still tangled with his chain.. she leaned to remove her pallu from his chain when she realized his glare scanning her … damn the pallu lace … she wasn't able to remove it ..she was trying but was nt able to may be because her eyes were somewhere else as she was not able to look at him because of his look .. she could feel his glare now at her eyes , her nose , her lips, her neck .. she was trembling .. slowly her cheeks were getting reddened …. defeated she left her attempt to free her pallu from his chain...he felt like he was in a new world ….the way she got reddened feeling his glare … her shy face …her trembling lips and the soft smile that adorned them… He was seeing such a reaction from a girl for the first time…

"taani…." Rajshri called from outside their room knocking on the door.. she was startled and looked at him but he was still staring at her … " taani…" rajshri called from outside again… she was in a awkward situation now…

" rey… "

" mmm" he replied softly

" mom is calling from outside "she said softly when the knock increased pulling him out from the trance … he quickly undid her pallu from his chain and left her free .. she got up with a smile and went to open the door
