FF : Spending nights with Mr. Raizada
Chapter 3 :
She slowly & quietly opened the door and went inside. When she was about to close, she again gave him a broad smile and waved at him. He too waved back and whispered her to take care. She nodded and closed the door.
Arnav bought his hands down, turned around and started walking. It was 5:00 pm by now...and few people could be seen on street. He was walking back to his home, cold winds sending shivers down his body.
'Brr...its getting cold. But, why do you I feel more cold today?😕 ', Arnav thought. He then froze at his place... ' Damn! The coat is with Khushi What if her husband see his coat. God! He would think something really sick about her!', He thought.
"Sh*t ", and he turned quickly turned, only to be welcomed by another surprise. As he turned around, he crashed with a lady...who was standing just behind him, ready to pat him. The lady lost her balance, but Arnav caught her.
"I am really sorry! I was...", he then paused as he saw the lady's face. His face brightened as he saw Khushi, leaning on his arms. She gave a broad smile and produced his coat in front of him. He smiled and helped her to get on her feet.
"I am sorry I forgot to give your coat ", Khushi said while giving him his coat.
"I...I was about to come", he said, while taking his coat. "Thank you", he continued.Both stood there for few minutes, then exchanged smile and then, parted to their respective ways.
Arnav reached his home. His smile faded that very moment. All those flashbacks of y'nite started eating him again. He quietly clicked open the front door and went inside. La was still no where to be seen & as he checked, bedroom door was also locked from inside. He sighed & went to the guest room to take a shower and get ready for his office. While bathing, the only thought that rested in his mind was self doubt...He was doubting himself. A feeling of self pity arose in him, and he couldn't stop himself from crying. He was totally broken...his confidence.
After taking bath, Arnav got ready. He knew how to rectify last night's blunder. He went to the kitchen and prepared La's favourite sandwich. He also made special coffee and placed it on table. He then, went towards their bedroom and knocked...
"La!", He called out, knocking the door simultaneously. No response.
He tried again.
"La! "
"ASR, just go! Don't disturb my sleep! I am not talking to you! ", La shouted back. Arnav said nothing then. He went to the table, covered her breakfast & wrote a sorry note and kept it side. He took his laptop bag and files, and without having breakfast drove to his Office. He did not had anything since last night and did not feel like eating anything.
He parked his car and went inside.
"Good morning! Mr. Raizada", the receptionist beamed. She continued," Boss wants to meet you!"
Arnav nodded and went towards his Boss' room. After taking permission he went inside.
"Come come! Have a seat! ", Boss welcomed.
"Thank u sir, for the promotion!", He thanked him.
"Huh! Its your hardwork that paid you off! Get used to such promotion chap! You never know, after me, Its your turn to be on this seat. ", His boss winked.
After some jolly conversation, Boss Spoke "Now Arnav! As you have been promoted...responsibilities are also increased. So, I am appointing a P.A. for you!"
Before Arnav could say anything, Boss continued, " Let me complete! Ya, as I was saying...we have appointed P.A. for you and she's making everything ready for you. Meet her, she is really a joyful lady, good sense of humour and quiet intelligent. Make her comfortable...she is newly married.
As soon as Arnav heard the "newly married" word he had a smirk on his face. He thanked his boss and went towards his new cabin.
'Ooh God! These days I am meeting so many newly married ladies. First, it was "crying newly married" Khushi...and now this!', he thought and smiled at his personal joke. He pushed open his cabin's door and went inside. He saw a lady, wearing black skin tight black skirt...which stretched upto her knees. Above, she wore white cut sleeves shirt. Her back was turned towards him as she was busy arranging his table.
"Excuse me!",He called out. The lady heard him and greeted him while turning around.
"Good Morning..." her eyes went wide open & she almost shouted " Mr. RAIZADA!"
"Ms. GUPTA! YOU! ", he too exclaimed. A broad smile broke on their faces and without thinking they gave a tight hug to each other.
"Wow! What a pleasant surprise!", he chuckled. Khushi, too was very happy. She was nervous, as how she going to manage with a new person, but seeing Arnav her nervousness just vanished somewhere. After some time, they broke their hug and Khushi continued,
"Oh! I was so nervous today!"...she continued, "So, sir! I am your P.A. Good morning and welcome to your new cabin. ", she spoke with delight.
"I am Khushi...as u already know & is a small package of big surprises.", she winked. Arnav smiled at her innocence.
"Welcome to your new job Ms. Gupta! I am your Boss-cum-friend, Arnav singh raizada!"...he continued.
She was not he same scared trembling Khushi, whom he met last night. Her hands were no more full of Chuddas and she looked really fab in western dress...her self confidence was very well reflected, through the way she was talking. No one could ever say that , This Khushi is same, Last night Khushi...though scar near her lips was still there.
He asked, "How did you manage Ms. gupta? I mean, you told me that your husband was against it so...?
Khushi smiled and said, "Well actually I lied. Today, according to rituals, is 'Pagphera', where girl has to go to her maternity. I told him, I wanted to go.He couldn't deny, so, I dawned myself in this dress...(she pointed her dress) and then wrapped saree around it. ", she smiled.
Arnav smirked and asked , "What about your family then? "
Khushi gave faint-sad smile, " They don't care...They don't care if I live or die.", she gulped. Arnav's smile immediately faded away. He could very well see her eyes filling u with tears.
He asked softly, " But, what did u do, 'coz of which ur family is behaving like this?"
She looked at him and opened her mouth to answer when peon barged and said,
"Boss is calling you Arnav sir."
Arnav nodded and looked at Khushi. He patted at her cheeks and said, " Drink water..I'll be back. Okay. " Khushi too nodded and Arnav left for Boss' cabin.
