Walking by the street, a guy in the cold winters of Boston listened to this song through his headphones. He sarcastically smiled at his own self. Did this song not suit his current situation?
It seemed like this song mocked him.
It had all been like a beautiful never ending dream, but then one fine day, reality decided to slap him and get him out of his chimera.
He reached one of the most happening pubs in town, and crashed down on stool in the bar waiting for his drink to come. He held his head in his hands when suddenly the bartender passed him his drink, double vodka, neat on the rocks.
He remembered what had just happened to him two years ago, but he still felt the pain as a fresh wound.

A tired Swayam came back home from his work, shuddering at the thought he would have to spend his New Year alone, thanks to the fight he had and the stupid assignment given by his boss, barring him from going anywhere, just to find the love of his life, his girlfriend sitting right in the middle of the room on the couch.
He smiled at her as he took his bag off and kept it on the couch. He proceeded towards her and hugged her tight. The hug showed how much he had missed her for the past six months.
He had been in Boston for six months now, and he was having a long distance relationship with the love of his life in Chennai.
Their relationship was started facing hardships once he stepped in to Boston, after being honored with a placement in one of the most prestigious IT Firms in the state.
"I missed you so much baby... I knew whatever you said, you never meant it." he said, refering to the break she had suggested over the phone to him, reason being she was not being able to handle it all.
"I meant every single word of it Swayam." she said, getting out of his grip, she stared at him with a stern face.
"Why? What is the matter? Why the fudge are you so insecure?" he shouted, now losing his calm. His biggest mistake, to give away in front of his anger.
"Because, we have no future Swayam .. " she screamed back "... We have no compatibilty, we have huge time differences, and most importantly, I am the least on your priority list. I can think of my future with a man who doesn't prioritise me and my needs. How many times have we actually had a talk? You are always busy with work."
"I don't give you time? Really, whenever I call you up either you are partying or hanging out with your friends or majorly working for your godforsaken Boss. I mean do YOU find time for me that you are blaming it all on me? You are equally responsible if not more." he said, peeved at what his girlfriend had said, blaming it all on him.
"You are incorrigible Swayam. You don't deserve my love. You are nothing but a helpless stalker, a desperate cheapster. Get Lost! It's over, it's completely over. Here is your stupid ring, keep it with you or destroy it, I don't care an ounce. You bloody b******."

Only if he hadn't lost his calm, only if he hadn't lost his temper, he still would have been with her. How he longed for her arms around him, her breath on his neck, her smile. But he knew, it was all gone like thin clouds in the air. He had to get over her, he just had to.
He made a firm resovle, he would forget his EX and make new girlfriend(s)
He didn't realize up till now, there was a girl sitting right next to him, sipping her a Virgin Mojito. She had beautiful olive orbs covered with dark kohl, which highlighted her beauty. She had a small nose, the perfect rosy lips as they used to be in nursery rhymes, fair complexion, ash black hair with tresses streaked red and brown. She wore an auburn colored dress with matching accessories.
"Hi!" she said, in her honey-filled voice.
Swayam looked behind to make sure she was addressing to whom, just to notice as he turned back, it was him.
"Hi!" he said, his voice thick of the American accent.
"I couldn't help but notice, you have been sitting here alone since God knows when, sipping vodka. Is everything alright? Though I don't think I have the right to know, but seriously Swayam, we work in the same freaking company!" she said.
Swayam simply nodded. He sighed, she was Sharon Raiprakash, the Senior Executive of the HRD. They both were just simple Hi-Bye friends. They just knew each other as colleagues.
Swayam did not know why, but he felt like sharing it with her. Maybe it was because he suddenly noticed she was beautiful, or because of the plethora of vodka he had gulped down.
"Remembering my break-up." he replied.
"Go on.." she urged him.
Swayam told her everything, their love since college days, fights, friendship, his placement and finally the break-up. He realized while reciting it all to her, that this was exactly he wanted, somebody like her to listen patiently about his miseries, his sorrows. Sharing actually decreases pain.
"Hm.. I am sure you must be having a difficult time coping up. You should roam around with new people, and you never know you might just find a new girl for yourself." she suggested.
"Okay!" he said.
They both enjoyed the night together, drinking, dancing and knowing each other more and more.
One year passed by and they best of friends, they were inseperable. They gelled in really fast, and became really close. Though, there were also instances when people around them felt they were in a relationship, but they never let it effect their friendship.
But, Sharon did love Swayam a lot. She had fallen for him the moment she had seen him enter the office three years ago. But her sources told her that he was in a relationship and therefore she burried her feelings in a corner of her heart.
Only last year at the bar when they had talked for the first time did she get to know he had broken up long ago. Her heart had done a little 'Chiggy-Wiggy' dance and wanted to just pounce on him and confess her feelings, but she felt it would be too much for him to handle.
"Shar, what are you doing tonight for New Year's?" her thought process was broken by Swayam's baritone.
"Um. I have no plans." she said in despair.
"Good! You are coming to my place. We will enjoy together. Even I don't have any plans. So, er- are you in?" he said, suddenly realizing he had been forcing upon his decision on her.
"I would LOVE to Swayam. I would be there by 11 if that is okay with you?" She asked him reluctantly. If she was to spend her New Year with Swayam, she definitely wanted to look her best and make him feel special.
"Okay! I'll be waiting .. Bye!" he said, waving his hand perkily and turning to get out of the building.
