I've always been fascinated with the Mauryans being the first empire of India.Tho We've been exposed more to 'Ashoka-The great' but I found Chandragupta Maurya equally great.The reason being His ability to establish an empire when he didnt belong to a royal family.

And Chanaky,it would be really my stupidity if I try to say something in the great scholar,diplomat and teacher's honour.

But the perspect of King that u portrayed is very rarely understood by a commoner.If he is a true king than his life gets bound to his kingdom and ppl.He has to act like a father to his ppl and endure every pain.

The example of star that u gave at end is so very apt.Including the story I loved the last portion very much.
