After 10 mins or so, they took her inside the OT. He was sitting numb outside OT along with the others. The only difference was others were worried and it was clear from their face but as for him, ASR was blank staring only at the OT light most of the time and if not that, then entering the prayer hall sitting there murmuring.

Anjali, Nani and even Dadi (who visited for a short time) observed the way he was behaving and were worried more about him than Khushi for he last behaved like this 14 years back.

In the meantime, NK narrated to the family members about what doctor said. Evryone was shocked that Khushi was so sick and more on the other part, that Khushi and Garima were not blood related. specially Dadi.

Though the Raizadas loved Khushi, but somehow Dadi's allegations against her had created a misunderstanding in their mind against her. And when they found out that Khushi was terribly sick for a long time now because of the blood vessels and all and that she and Garima (because of whom, Dadi hated her and their wedding was called off) were not even blood related, a part of them felt guilty.

Anjali, Nani and Dadi were together when Anjali was talking to Nani that she prays with all her heart that Khushi gets well soon, not only because they are feeling guilty, not because of so many reasons, but because of chote.

She said she was terribly scared for him. Nani held Anjali's hand, "Nani, I have never seen him like this for the past 14 years."

With tears in her eyes, "we have always been trying to forget that cursed night, and we almost did until last night, when everything came out at light. This was enough of a shock for him." "Chote ne hume hi hamesha sambhalne ki koshish ki hai. Hume sambhalte sambhalte woh apne apko hi kho chuke the. Phir Khushiji aayi aur woh dheere dheere humare bachpan ke chote ko bapaas le aayi. Nani, chote Khushiji se bahut pyaar karte hai. Humse aur Ma se woh jitna pyaar karte hai, Khushiji se woh utna hi pyaar karte hai. Ma toh chali gayi. Chote apne aap ko us dard se aab tak nhi sambhal paye hai. Kal jab unki shadi tut gayi, tabhi mujhe dart ha, ke hum chote ko phir se kho chuke. Aur ab yeh ho gaya. Agar aaj Khushiji ko kuch bhi ho gaya na, toh Hume apne chote kabhi bapaas nhi milenge." She broke off sobbing.

Nani comforted her. Dadi stood there listening to all these, not that she was oblivious to Arnav's condition herself. But she remained silent.

The family members were so worried about the operation and Khushi's getting well, they decided not to speak about the fact that how come Garima and Khushi were not related by blood.

Chapter six: NK and Khushi

Arnav was sitting in the prayer hall alone. In the meantime, NK went out to find proof against Shyam because though he wanted to stay with Khush, but he heard standing behind the door, what allegations Arnav had made against Khushi.

And he realized that its only time before Khushi wakes up and everything goes back to usual practice, that those problems will again suffice. And he did not want to see Khushi hurt. NK had a plan. When Khushi had gathered proof against Shyam in the pen drive, NK and Khushi had a back up plan and they had copied the contents of the pen drive in another one too, but unfortunately, the second pen drive had crashed. So they had given it to a technician to retrieve the data.

The technician called him recently to say that he might be able to fix it but due to Arnav-Khushi's wedding , he was quite busy and did not have a chance to tell Khushi about it. Moreover, he had already thought that Arnav trusted Khushi with all his life. The pen drive was needed just for the family members.

But last night, when Arnav revealed his allegations against her, it was clear to both NK and Khushi that Arnav never trusted her fully and that he needed proof. Nk always had a severe crush on Khushi.

Though she endured his accusations, NK couldn't. So he decided to prove it to Arnav about how wrong he was. And again, he already had the will Shyam had made against Arnav for he had hidden it in his baby's cot.

That day, when Khushi ordered the servant to take the cot away from Anjali's room after her miscarriage, NK was helping HP to get it out and eventually found the will. He dint want to create a scene, so was about to tell Arnav-Khushi just after the wedding was over, but before he could get a chance, Arnav started doubting Khushi again.

Now he felt the emergency to gather the proofs against Shyam and to prove Khushi innocent. After all, he also loves Khushi and wouldn't let Arnav hurt her anymore.

Chapter seven: I can't have her out of my sight

After 5 hours since the start, the doctors came out of OT. Arnav saw the OT light turned off from the corner of his eye and rushed towards the doc.

Arnav: Doc, how is she? How'.how was the operation? (then he swallowed once)

Doc: Mr. Raizada, the operation was successful. She is fine. She is under observation at the moment. The time she takes to gain consciousness would be taken into consideration and then only we can take next step. If she comes back to her senses within 6-7 hours, you can take her home after two days. But you have to be extremely careful. She should not have even the slightest stress. We have don't the best we could. Now her life is in your hands!!!!!

Garima was very worried and tensed. After all, she had Khushi as her own daughter for 14 years. Buaji comforted her saying " she will come to senses before 7 hours, I have full faith in Nandkishore and Titaliya. After 2 days, we will take her home. Then she would be happy and stressfree"

The last line she said eying disgustingly towards Arnav. When NK told them about Khushi's long term illness in the brain due to stress, everyone knew why it was.

Arnav heard Buaji. He did not care that she disgusted him only that he knew he had lost all rights towards her but it was for her best. It was HIM she wanted most He knew it somewhere. Again he was shattered by his thinking and this realization. "Is it really so?? That she wants me most?? Whatever'I would not let Buaji take her home. I don't care who wants what. She is still legally my married wife. I will take her home. That's the best for her. She would not have any kind of stress or problems. I would make sure of that."

They asked the nurse if they can go inside to see her. The nurse replied more ppl would be a problem. However, the husband can stay with her. Buaji wanted to protest as she clearly does not want any kind of relation with Arnav.

But before she could, Arnav did not waste anytime and went inside the ward. Buaji did not want to create a scene. So she remained silent. In the ward, Arnav kissed her on the bandaged forehead and both her hands, and kept staring at her holding her hand with a faint smile.

After a long time, life seems to have come back to his face. Anjali and Nani saw the change and were relieved for the moment though they knew the storm was not yet over. He was a like an innocent child who had been crying for his most precious thing for hours and now he calmed down after finding it.

Arnav looking at her face suddenly got scared thinking " What if Buaji does not comprehend?? What if they took Khushi away?? Then..?? Though he legally was her husband, but following what happened the other night they had full right to deny it." The smile disappeared.

He shattered at the thought. "Never!!! No one can take Khushi away from me. I would not allow that. For then I would never be able to see her again:How can I trust anyone with Khushi's recovery? She needs perfect rest, food and surroundings. I would not give my Khushi to anyone. I will take care of her. And if Buaji does not let me to take Khushi with me, then I have other plans!!!!. I own their house at Laxminagar. After all, I can't have Khushi out of my sight ever!!!!"

The smirk smile came back on his face as he was reassured that he did not have to let her go out of his sight. He kept staring at his wife's beautiful face which became pale for so many reasons. He was not sure about so many things but one. That she is indeed his life's most valuabe deal.

Thxs for the pm. A heart touching update once again.although Arnav is kind of realizing what he was on the verge of losing I still feel that Khushi shouldn't forgive him that easily after she gains consciousness. He should earn her love this time.

grrr...he still thinks abt how he cannot stay wout her...not how much he had hurt her...

Chapter eight : Did she try to commit suicide???...:

Three hours passed by. Everyone else went home. Arnav was still in same pose as he was before, staring at her with a faint smile holding her hand.

Just then, a thought crossed her mind. He was again lost with horror.

(Just after Khushi's accident, when he got off the car and ran towards her and when he was crying on the road holding her, the people behind him were discussing about the incident. Someone said " What happened?? The girl seems to be a bride who just left her mandap." Many people were expressing different views. One of them said "She must have been marrying someone she does not love. So she ran away from her home and the guy seems to be her lover the way he is crying for her. He must love her a lot." Another one said " yeah, you must be saying truth. The girl was in a hurry to save the other child and in the process got herself injured. Wait!!! Or maybe, her marriage was called off because of some reason and she ran away to the highway to commit suicide. Whether for that child or not, she would have done that anyway or else why she will be on this part of the busiest road at this hour!!! Ah!!!! Poor soul!!!! Broken weddings have that effect. ")

Arnav who was in the flashback with his eyes closed, jumped up in horror at the last thought, opened his eyes and looked at Khushi with tears in his eyes.

He cupped her bandaged face in her hand and spoke with a broken voice " Khushi, you would not have done that to me, right?? You were not on the highway to commit suicide, were you???" Arnav stared at her face with utmost horror ; not only because he would have lost her but also because he lost his mother like this and for that he had always blamed his father. Was he having the same effect on her as his father had on his mother which compelled her to commit suicide??

He felt like it was a nightmare he was into which will never end. For the first time, he felt disgust for himself. He did not know how to make everything right. He still wanted to trust her. But the last night thoughts came rushing to his mind " her aunt had done the same thing with my mother what she did with my sister. But wait!!!! She was no longer her aunt in true sense of the term!!! Khushi might not be knowing about the horrible past of her adopted mother.

Even I did not know of my father. I did not ever see the woman. Khushi used to tell me everything. She must have told me if she had known. And I saw the innocence in her face when I was kidnapped. She was innocent. And even Payal supported her facts Shyam was P.G in their house." A sweet assuring smile on his face "She is innocent. My Khushi'.."

But still somewhere he wanted to clear all doubts. He thought he needed to find out before he accepts her totally. Somewhere he was not convinced.

He still wanted proof of her innocence. Then he thought " I am business man. May be that is the reason I want proof for everything. And that is not bad. I want to clear all misunderstandings altogether!!! Unlike last time, I would not depend on anyone's statements. I will find myself what the truth is. I do not care if there was a relation between her adopted mother and my dad. But I would surely find out about Khushi and Shyam and about their relationship. Once I have proof I can talk to Dadi about Shyam".

After sometime, when he was still lost in his thoughts, he saw Khushi opening her eyes. He stood up, went real close to her face so that her breath can touch his face. He cupped her hands around her face and spoke with a smile of relief "Khushi!!! You came back to me!!!"

He kissed his cheeks and her forehead. Immediately the nurse and the doc entered. The doc checked her and said "For now, she is safe. U can inform the family members".

All of them along with NK came to see her. Garima and Buaji had tears when NK assured them that Khushi was fine though doc advised her not to talk much. Arnav was in joy seeing her fine for now. Though he did not have the courage to come in front of her, but still he was sitting right next to her. In fact, he was the closest to her.

Mami was also very happy to see Khushi safe. In utter excitement, she spoke out " HHBB Phati Sari, this time toh u have survived. I hope you also get well soon from the long time brain illness what you have." She was babbling on with a huge smile when suddenly she stopped seeing the look at Arnav's face. Everyone was dumbstruck. Khushi was confused.

Then the doc came and said "Arnavji, your wife has done a great job. You can take her home in the evening after I do some tests for further treatment". Then he left

Hearing him referring her as his wife, Khushi stared at Arnav with pain. He noticed that. Immediately she hid her face and looked down. His heart bled when he saw her in pain. Buaji had heard enough of Arnav since past day. She said "Titaliya, we will take you home. We will help you get ready."

Khushi came back to reality as for a long time, her mind wasblank about what happened. She felt like the world crashed. After she became conscious, she had him beside her. Somehow she felt that was the reality only she found it out now that he was here just for formality. Now she understood why the doc called her his wife. It was also a formality. Their marriage was called off. She meant nothing to him.

Arnav and Buaji both could clearly see she was hurt. Arnav was hurt too. His heart bleeds when his Khushi is hurt. He din't want to prolong this moment.

He went upto Buaji and spoke in a calm and serious tone when everyone was listening. Even Dadi did not dare to interrupt him for she knew, by now, that he loved her madly though it did not mean she accepted her.

Arnav said " Can we talk for a moment outside??" Then they went out. Except Khushi, almost everyone could hear them

Arnav spoke "Buaji, you know I respect you deeply. But, let me take her home . It's for her best."

Buaji spoke out with utter disgust " What!!! You want to kill her ??? You know she is here because of you. I won't let my child die. Noway!!!"

Arnav felt someone stabbed his heart for he knew what she was saying was true. Khushi was indeed here because of him. Buaji could clearly see the hurt from his face but she ignored it maybe because she thought he deserved it.

Arnav, after gathering all his strength, spoke out again " Buaji, have you not seen her face when you said you are taking her home?? If not me, think about her, please."

The next sentence he spoke a little loudly for everyone of his family members to hear " And besides she is my legally married wife. I don't care if you don't accept it. You can't take her away!!!!"

Then he became soft "Buaji, I know I have lost all rights towards her. But I would not let you hurt her by taking her away. SHE NEEDS ME ( he said this with firm belief because a part of him believed that firmly and knew it to be the truth. Even he was surprised about how sure he was that she needed him J)"

Buaji knew what he was saying was true and she should not be hurt at the moment. So she agreed. "But what about your family???" she demanded to which Arnav assured " I would not let her be hurt"

Buaji said looking at his face before giving final appraisal " How can I trust you with my precious child, after you being the sole reason of her ending up here???"

Arnav knew he was the reason of her being here. But he could not take her last comment that she could not trust Khushi with her that he was a danger to her life now. He was deeply hurt.

He could not say anything, not even in his defense. Seeing his helpless condition, Anjali and Nani came out "Buaji, I assure you. Khushi will be taken care of very properly. You can visit her anytime. And then Payalji will also be there with her".

Though so much had happened, but no one in the Raizada Mansion hated Khushi though they had some sure doubts against her. But the fact that Garima is not related to her calmed everyone down for a while. Buaji finally agreed.

Everyone but Arnav left for Khushi was about to go home in the evening. Arnav came back to the ward. Arnav went and sat right next to her bed. Khushi was looking away. He could not wait and asked her "What were you doing on the highway at this hour?? You'.You tried '. To commit'. Suicide ????" He stared at her for answer.

She said " No. I was in deep thought. Don't know when reached there. Then saw the child being run over. Had to save her." She gave him a blank look. "But when the car hit me and I thought that was the end, I was not terrified. I was happy that everything was ending. I felt the hurt, the accusations will also come to an end. In fact death was the only escapee I thought at that moment and I was happy".

Arnav could not take it. He was very very hurt. He did not want her to see this. Like he decided, he would find out the facts and then only he would forgive and accept her. Till then he would not be intimate with her like before. It was not possible to be with her the way he had been before last night though he loved her with all his heart. Things would not be the same again so easily. He knew it.

She knew it too that things would not be the same. She felt that he still hated her though she was happy that he was there but one thing he did not understand that why he is taking her home if he hates her so much and mami was talking about. But she dint want to think much. So she gave up.
