"Khushi take it" Arnav has brought her to the room but being afraid she was still clinging to him and didn't allowed him to move even for a second. Hardly managing, Arnav gave her medicines but when she didn't forward her hand to take it, sighing he opening her mouth placed the tablet in her mouth and giving water made her swallow it

"Just sleep Khushi" He tried to pull his hand away from her shoulders when nodding to no she hugged him tightly

"No …. Please don't leave me" She pleaded in between her sobs

"I am here Khushi with you, I am not going anywhere" He tried to make her believe him and gently lay down beside her on the bed, Never before Khushi hugged him while sleeping but she was so afraid that she was almost lying on him

"You have to pay for this" Arnav promised to himself to get back Shyam for making her frightened this much

Her sleep gets disturbed by the sun rays entering the room. Lazily she opened her heavy lids but next moment, mortified she jumped out of the bed opening her eyes wide.

She was sleeping with him, almost tangling to him, her face turned red with embarrassment. She once again lifting her lashes dared to look at him

Thank God he was sleeping, she sighed in relief and then the memories of last night came to her

Shyam, he again tried to harass her, what if Arnav didn't come in time ..

No, She does not want to think anything beyond that

Moving to the cupboard she taking her clothes went to the bathroom

As soon he heard the clicking of bathroom door, he opened his eyes. He was awake but he pretended to asleep so when she wake up she does not feel embarrassed

He sat in the bed and his mind went to the past, whole night he couldn't sleep because the memories of past were haunting him

He closed his eyes painfully as he remembered how Anjali tried to end her life when he denied for the proposal of Shyam

"No Di …. If you have asked for my life I will happily give it to you but no …. I cannot destroy your life by marrying you with Shyam"

"But chotte what is the problem in it, we know Jay uncle and his family from ten years then why are you ….."

"I am not saying Di anything against Jay uncle, I don't want your marriage with that person and that's final"

He was about to move away when Anjali taking the knife from fruit basket called him

"Okey" He turned as he sensed something in her voice tone and as he did his eyes became wide with fear

"DI" He tried to snatch the knife from her hand but she was not giving in

"No chotte, I don't need a life which I have to spend without him" Arnav froze at his place and then he gave up

"Fine Di, you can do whatever you want, I don't know what spell he has casted that you are doubting and overlooking your chotte's love for you …. I … I just …." His voice choked as he found himself the most helpless person losing his most precious thing to the devil

But Anjali was happy to hear just a yes from him and she hugged him happily not knowing the inner battle running inside him

"I wish Di …. You could see his true face …. I ….." His thoughts were interrupted at the clicking of bathroom door

He looked at her while she just mumbled a "Good Morning" barely audible

"Good Morning" Arnav replied back smilingly and not to make her feel more nervous he went out of the room

Khushi let out a sigh of relief as he left and then she surprisingly looked around the room at some strange voice, when she tried to hear closely, her eyes widened as she realized that it was her own heartbeat

She clutched her chest tightly as an attempt to stop her heart from thumping so loud but it was of no use

"What's happening to me" She looked up a bit confused and astounded

Arnav opened the door of his room in rage when he stopped suddenly finding his sister sitting on the bed dressing the wounds of her husband

Anjali turned to look at the door and smiled as she saw him there, "Chotte, come inside, you want something?"

"Yes Di" His cold gaze was on Shyam as he spoke to Anjali

"I want to discuss something important with Jeeja Ji" He fisted his palms, "Alone" It was an indication that Anjali should leave them alone

"OK but don't stress him, he had hurted him last night falling from stairs" Anjali smiled and leave the room

As she went out, Arnav locked the door and came to him, in no time he grabbed his collar and made him stand on the floor

"HOW DARE YOU GO NEAR HER WHEN I WARN YOU NOT TO ……"

"Who Arnav? Your wife or your first love?" Shyam smirked cutting him in the mid

"WHY …. WHY ARE YOU AFTER ALL THIS? YOU ….."

"Sshh … watch your tone Arnav what if your Di walk in? Stay calm ok" He said as if he was enjoying his condition

"NO I CAN'T STAY CALM" Arnav gritted as he tightened his hold on Shyam's neck in a way he was finding it difficult to even breathe

"Le …. Leave mm …. me ….. Ar ……" Shyam coughed and tried to pry his hands off him

"She cannot understand your dirty mind and why you are torturing her? She …. She is a sister to Anjali and you ……" Arnav loosened his grip as he tried to explain in a affable manner

"She has to suffer Arnav …. I don't care who she is but she belongs to you …. She is your wife …. You …. My enemy's wife …." Arnav's eyes widened as he heard it, it was like what all he did his whole life was nothing …. He has to ultimately face the thing he wanted to avoid all his life

"NO" He clenched his teeths and fisting his hands he tried to restrain himself from hitting him hard

"Don't you ever dare hurt her again, never" He threatened him to which he gave out a mock laugh

"Try some new line Arnav, seriously, I am bore of you using the same 'Don't you dare' 'I swear' dialogue, try something new yaar" He mocked him and laughed at his weak threats

"I am not joking Shyam, one more scar and I'll not care about Di, I'll put you behind the bars …. Just remember that" One final time he pressed his neck tight before shrugging him off and he was about to leave when he has to stop hearing him again

"Ok then, I won't go near Khushi or what you say but then you have to return me something"

Arnav turned to look at him in question

"Bring Lavanya back to my life" Arnav felt like murdering the person standing in front of him right away if he ever asked or given permission to kill a person

"You are a creep and will always remain the same, you cannot change, I don't want to do any bargain to you and that too for the person who is important in my life, you just remember what I told you before hurting Lavanya or Khushi"

Saying it he didn't stopped there to hear more crap from him, he went out while Shyam smirked wide as how helpless is Arnav

"I am going to get both of them, I promise that Arnav" An evil grin spread across his lips

As Arnav entered the room, he saw Khushi getting ready for the university, As she heard footsteps, she turned to look at him

Khushi smiled briefly before resuming her work, he came forward and hold her hand which was stuffing books in her bag, she looked at him in question

"Pack some of your clothes, I'll drop you at your friend's place" Khushi wasn't expecting it from him so she just kept staring him surprised

"You …. I ….. Khushi you're not safe here and I …. I cannot afford …… I ….." He stuttered before she pulled her hand back and batted her lashes in order to stop her tears from spilling out

"Khushi …. I ….." He stopped as he felt her head hitting against his chest

"No …. I won't go anywhere …. I want to be here with you …. And I know you will protect me …. I ….. I feel safe …. Protected here ….. with you …." She cried and let out all she was feeling and Arnav was speechlees, how could she trust him so easily after everything he'd done to her?

"I …. I know you trust me and …. and you'll never think wrong of me …. And you'll always save me from Jeeju" Arnav closed his eyes painfully as he tried hard to hold back his tears, he was not worthy of her, he felt like killing himself at the moment

He came out of his thoughts as he felt her hold tightening around his neck and he too brought his hands which were hanging to his sides to her waist, he squeezed her in his embrace as to give her assurance that he will never fail her for putting her trust in him

"Come fast Anuj breakfast is ready" Lavanya called him making a final glance at the table, if something is missing

Only when she was about to sit her phone rang,

"Private Number Calling" Maybe its Arnav because he sometimes call her from Private number

"Hello Arnav?" She attend the call but hearing the next voice she regret attending it

"Hi sweetheart" Fury rushed through her veins hearing him whom she hate to the core, she don't want to talk to him so she was about to end the call when he stopped

"Na …. Na …. Na … baby don't think of putting down the phone or your friend has to pay for it" He smirked through the phone and Lavanya felt sick of this person

"Don't you dare anything doing with her" She said with clenched teeth only to hear a mock laughter from him

"Seriously, you and your boyfriend are same, never getting tired of using the same line again and again"

"Arnav is not my boyfriend, get this thing straight, I love Anuj and I am his wife" She gritted

"I'll see for how long you keep this statement"

"Lavanya" As he heard Anuj calling her he disconnected the call saying, "See you soon baby"

"Lavanya what happened?" Anuj shook her shoulder as he saw her standing afraid and staring at her phone

"Who was at the phone?" He asked and she instantly hugged him

"Shyam …. He ….. he threatened …. He will harm …. Khushi ……. Me ….. he will ….." Lavanya stammered in her sobs while Anuj tried to calm her

"Sshh you are strong, I know and he was and he is a coward he cannot do anything, so stop worrying and you know Arnav is there for Khushi to protect her … right" He gently broke the hug and cupped her face wiping her tears while she nodded

"Now stop crying and if you are missing Khushi you can go and meet her"

"But … Shy …." She tried to speak when he cut her

"From when you start fearing of that person? My wife is strong and she can fight anything" Anuj said making her smile as she hugged him once again

"I love you Anuj"

'Two months has been passed peacefully though. Arnav take care of that Shyam never came acroos Khushi's way as she had exams and he don't want her studies to be affected in any ways so he spend most of the time with Khushi which keeps Shyam away from her. Little he knew that it was the calm before the storm
