Arnav stared at Aakash in question but he shrugged apologetically for not being able to keep Shyam away. He sighed and taking Khushi's hand moved to the dinning hall after Anuj and Lavanya

Only one person is now standing to his ground in living area, 'Shyam' he was dead shocked to see those persons in his house

"No … it's …. It's my illusion, she …. she can't be here …. She …. she left eight years before ….. then ….. no ….." His mind wasn't working properly as far he knew, she was nowhere in this country or was it like he was ignorant about Khushi's presence in this city, he was also unaware of her presence

"You have no idea Arnav what you've gotten yourself into" He clenched his teeths as his palms turned into fists

"How are you Anuj?" Everyone was enjoying their dinner having little chat when Shyam taking a seat beside Anjali directly questioned

For a moment, everyone a bit astounded stopped eating and looked at Anuj for an answer, who knowing that everyone is gazing at him nodded, "I am good, thank you" He smiled

Lavanya let a sigh of relief which didn't go unnoticed by Shyam,

"So I guess you and Arnav were in contact with each other all these years?" He shoot the next question and it made Arnav to uncomfortably shift in his seat also, Khushi looked up at Anuj once and then at Arnav confusedly

"I … I don't know what you're talking about, I never met Arnav before three weeks" Anuj answered

"Really … I don't believe this, I mean you and Arnav were the best friends in high school" Shyam was enjoying the priceless expressions on his old friend's faces while everyone else was looking at them in confusion

"Maybe, we know each other before but that was past ten years to the high school" Arnav jumped into conversation

"But Saale Sah ……"

"I think we should concentrate on the dinner" Arnav cut him, "Jeeja Ji" He gritted making Shyam's smirk to grew wider

"Sure" He said

"I'll not let her go this time, she came back for me only and now" Shyam glared Lavanya thoughtfully who was pouring juice for Anuj in the glass, his eyes roamed from her to Khushi who was smiling as Arnav whispered in her ear, "It's going to be fun" He smirked evilly as his clever mind planned evil

"Thank you Lavanya for coming, Thank you Anuj" Khushi happily thanked the couple as she and Arnav were bidding them good bye

"Thanks to you Khushi for a lovely dinner" Smilingly Lavanya hugged her

"Now you can come anytime whenever you want, okay" Khushi said parting from her, to which she just nodded

"Bye Anuj …. umm Bye Lavanya" Arnav smiled and Khushi could see his hesitation as he said bye to Lavanya, she knew he didn't like her as she was the one who ranted him when they went to take Khushi's things from her apartment, she sighed ans held Arnav's hand

"Bye" waving hands they kept watching until their car was out of sight

Arnav was seeing Khushi quiet since Anuj and Lavanya left,

Apparently she was studying but he could see her lost somewhere else, first he thought not to ask but then cannot resisting he asked

"Khushi, are you ok? Is there something bothering you?"

She looked up at him from her book and nodded her head

"What? You can tell me" Coming to her he sat beside her

"Are …. Are you hiding something from me, something which I should know?" She questioned searching in his eyes for an answer and it was as he read it on her face, he looked away

"No Khushi, why would I hide anything from you?" He said slightly grinning

"Are you sure?" She was not satisfied by his answer

"Yes Khushi, 100% sure" He said pressing her hands, this time looking into her eyes as he knew only this can satisfy her

"Can I ask you one more thing?"

"Ofcourse Khushi you don't need permission"

"Did you and Anuj were friends?" Khushi could see the change in his facial expressions but in fraction of seconds he composed himself and shook his head

"No, we were not friends but yes we were in the same grade in high school and that Anuj told me when we went to Lavanya's apartment that day, just this Khushi nothing more to it" He answered her in detail

"Now if you inquiry is complete, can we sleep? I'm very tired" Arnav said yawning and closing her books

She could not tell him that she still wants to ask him about those cards and diaries but then anticipating his reaction, he avoided asking it

After having dinner Khushi came to the terrace, she was confused with Arnav's changed behavior. She was comparing the past one month with 16 years of her life. He always disliked her then how suddenly after three years he became caring about her.

Who is Pari? He was a friend with Anuj but he never told about it. The questions were just burdening her head. Sighing, she peeped at her wrist watch, it's been an hour she came here, she should go back.

As she turned, her feet glued to the ground, right in front of her was standing Shyam with a sickening smile and blocking her way

Terrified, she tried to escape from sides but he was quicker than her. Twirling her wrist he pulled her in his embrace and Khushi felt her breathing stopped

"Just leave me" She struggled to freed herself from his grip but he holding her managed to brought his face closer to hers

"Choriye humain (Just leave me)" She turned her face to other side

"Aise kaise chor doon, 3 saal baad yeh moka mila hai ab toh ….. (Not now, I got this chance after three years and now ….)" He smirked evilly while Khushi closing her eyes prayed for help

"Arnav" She helplessly called for him only once again putting all her trust in him hoping he won't misunderstand her this time

Arnav was in the room after dinner. He saw Khushi going to the terrace, first he wanted to follow her but then thinking of giving her some alone time, he came to the room but now it's been an hour so he decided to go and check if she is fine. As he got up his eyes fell on the medicine at side table, she didn't take her medicine yet. Panicked, he almost ran to the terrace

But as soon he opened the door, rage filled his blood and taking long strides in seconds he pulled Shyam apart from Khushi and next moment he was beating him like crazy

"HOW DARE YOU, I TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM HER ….." He punched Shyam hard in his face

Khushi was breathing heavily now and feeling dizzy she was about to fall when Arnav saw her, leaving Shyam there he moved to her and caught her in his arms

She instantly clinged his shirt tightly and hiding her face in his chest she started weeping,

"It's not me Arnav … It's your wife who ……"

"SHUT UP" Shyam tried to speak but Arnav stopped him as he felt Khushi shooking her head in his chest

"JUST GET OUT FROM HERE, WE'RE NOT DONE YET" He roared and Shyam wiping his blood dripping from his chin smirked

"Yes we're not done yet" He pressed and limping he left from there

"Khushi ….. Khushi ….. don't worry I am here ..." He turned towards her and placed his hand on hers which was gripping his shirt

"Look at me Khushi …." He tried to pull her away but refusing she just shook her head

Helplessly, Arnav gave her some time to calm and after five minutes she looked up at him with her tear filled eyes

"H …. Hum ne ….ku …kuch ….. nah ….."

"Sshh I know Khushi, I know, don't say anything" He didn't let her speak, but she shook her head

"Aa ….aap ko hum pe yakeen hai na ….. aap hum pe bhrosa kerte hain? (Do you believe me? … Do you trust me)" She asked looking into his eyes but he instantly looked away and nodded his head

"Yes Khushi …. I … I trust you" He said pulling her into a hug and she who was becoming anxious on why he didn't looked at her while answering relaxed in a second, Arnav was not the person to express his feelings in words

"He …. He hugged me Arnav Jee" As Khushi sobbed against his shoulder his hold tighten around her listening it

"You …. You said that no one can touch me except you …. But he ….."

"Sshh" He gently broke the hug and cupped her face

He brought his face closer to her and she closed her eyes, "Kiss me" She was merely audible and he knowing it that she needs him slightly brushed his lips with hers. He was about to pull back when he felt her fingers ruffling through his hairs and pulling his head deepening the kiss

He gave in, and kissed her easing and soothing her pain, sucking all her worries through this kiss. He wants her to feel protected with him, with her husband
