One always does not pay attention to supporting characters in a story as their focus is always on the protagonist. M, you don't fall into that category of writers who do injustice to the story or all its characters, I like Tina and Ali and it is because you make them believably likeable.
The relationship they share is so believable and that I can relate to. Tina's concern and her need to want to spend time with her husband and then the gnawing need to know the reason behind the shoot out and not to forget the nexus between Arnav and Ali, it does warn us of unpleasant things but will wait to know more there.
Arnav was so Arnav when he spoke to Khushi, I am unsure about the use of the word confession here, so will just keep it as a soul cleansing conversation. I love the way he asks Khushi to fear him, as he himself does not know the depths he could go to achieve something, the fact he married Khushi because she was prostitute is one of the many reasons he has to be feared and not just that he forked Shashi; he sure knows that best. I too don't fear him, rather am in awe.
The two will never have it easy because of who they are and what they have come to be, despite that I see hope. I have said this before, this story reeks of hope for me.
PS – I followed your advice, read this first and then went to read STB but did not feel the usual heaviness I feel when I read this story. That my dear is a compliment for you.
Chapter 39
If only there was someone like Arnav in my life, reading this story makes me yearn for things I usually have little or no care for. Arnav is essentially a man and I say this in the best possible way, he is loving, caring, understanding, demanding and at the same time pragmatic in his approach to life and his not so easy relationship with his wife. He loves her and I don't question that but it sure is difficult to live with the fact that person you love so much is emotionally damaged for reasons she had little control over.
Anjali's story was expectedly heart wrenching, life is sure a bitch and don't blame any of her actions. Not wanting the child and then desperately wanting the child back, all woman and flawed human.
Arnav wants to protect Khushi, can anyone doubt his love for his child's mother. He did thank her for giving him something to cherish and he would go to any lengths to safe guard his loved ones, he had shown that on a few occasions has he not.
I am not surprised at the different parenting techniques put on display here. Typical Arnav and Khushi of "If Only".
PS – a job well done, the fact that you have invested this much time in the story goes to show it is a labor of love for you and that is the reason you keep it close to heart.

Oh Masam, did you have to do this? I was having a perfectly miserable day and then I have to read this. I am very upset and have cried along with Khushi, this is f**king unfair, and why is life such a bitch? Care to answer?
In all this my heart cried for Aryan, why the hell does he have to pay the price? He has done no wrong, did Arnav think through his actions? Did he pay attention to the many things he was warned off? How is it fair on everyone concerned his actions? How does one person's mistake be corrected by another's punishment?
I yearned for someone like Arnav while I read the previous update and now hate myself for it. It is so f**king frustrating the story can't read it and can't not read it. I hate myself for this. Masam, please pull us out of this muck, rid us of this misery, please.
PS – sorry to have ranted in this manner, girl you cannot write this well and not leave me unaffected, I will come around. It is good to have such stories, binds you to reality. It is much needed, gives us some perspective.
