Really enjoying this SS. The conversation between Arhi feels so natural and not at all forced and cheesy. Love it. Bringing back all good memories!

Arnav: Hum kitne..

Khushi: .. Ajeeb hai..

They both let out a smile and rested their foreheads on each other.

Arnav: You said you had decided to quit job then..? But you were at RM next day..?

Khushi: I had got multiple calls that day. Once from Di, then Nani, later Lavanyaji. Even Mamiji had called that day. They all acted as if something had gone wrong between Lavanyaji and Nani. But I figured out it was their plan to make me stay back till your wedding. But they convinced me to stay back. I couldn't refuse them. You know what they did..?

Arnav: Hmmm.. Sang and danced for you and even pulled you. And you being you readily gave into their plan.

Khushi: (recalled the act put together by all and then got confused) How do you know all this?

Arnav: I was watching all the action of the entire group.

Khushi: Really..!!! But we dint come to know you were there.

Arnav: How would you people even notice me..!!! Sab nach-gaane aur drama busy jo the..! I know my family has always been a drama company. Added you to theirs, it's a complete nautanki package.

Khushi: (irritated) How rude is that..!!!

Arnav: Seriously Khushi. What a scene you guys had created then. I was not able to concentrate on my work at all.

Khushi: But it was so much fun that day.

Saying that she sat at the parapet of the pool. He sat beside her and kept staring at her. She was lost in her own thoughts. He observed a frown forming on her face. Thinking what was it that suddenly changed her mood to low, he held her hand in his and asked her. She looked up to him and he noticed tears had formed in her eyes. He raised his index finger to erase it, but she held his hand kissed it softly. Two drops of tears fell on back of his palm.

Arnav: Khushi..? Kya hua..?

Khushi: Nothing.

Arnav: Something is troubling you. Tell me what is it..?

Khushi: I was forced by my family to get engaged to Shyamji, I even had to wear his ring which I never liked to do. He put his ring on the wrong finger. That was an indication by my Devi Maiyya, that he is not the one for me, which I had failed to understand then'

Arnav: Khushi, it is alright. It was not your fault.

Khushi just nodded and kept quiet.

Arnav: See the brighter side of it, the ring dint stay with you even for a day because it did not fit you.

Khushi: Hmmm..

Arnav: Pata hai jab tumne mujhse kaha ke woh tumhari engagement ring thi, to main bohot daar gaya tha. I was so shattered that you dint even inform me once when you had even considered of getting engaged. I was very angry on you, and more than you I was angry with myself for not understanding my own behavior. So I asked you to take up all the responsibilities of Lavanya and my engagement. I taunted you for choosing a fianc who is not being able to afford expensive jewellery or dresses. But you never complained. I did not realize that you are not materialistic and all that don't matter to you.

Arnav: Main bohot bura insaan hoon na..? Sometimes I feel I don't deserve you.

Khushi: (caressing the back of his palm) why do you think so? You are the best man one can ever have.

Arnav: No Khushi, I have hurt you innumerable times. I wonder what I did to deserve an angel like you.

Khushi: You have loved me immensely and that is all enough that we found each other.

Arnav: Feelings to hamesha hi thi, farak to hamesha hi padta tha. Dard to hamesha hi hota tha.. Dono ko.. But its just that we never acknowledged our need for each other.

Khushi: Why was it that we both never understood what we felt for each other then..?

Arnav: Because we both are very much alike. Stubborn and Egoistic.

Khushi: And dumb as well..

Arnav: Dumb..?

Khushi: Yes dumb, because we never observed what was going around us. How and when Jiji and Akash jiju fell for each other in the mean time is still a big question for me. Had we not caught them red handed in the caf we would have never known about it.

Arnav: (Smiling) I still remember that day when Akash had confessed his feelings towards Payal to me. I asked him to give me logical reasons as to why he wants to marry her. And then I found out that he is madly in love with your sister, since day 1. He told me it was love at first sight for him.

Khushi: But Jiji dint tell me anything about it. Nor did she wanted to meet him again, because she was scared of Mamiji.

Arnav: Weird.

Khushi: Haww.. aap unke pyaar ka mazak uda rahein hain..!!!

Arnav: Nahi Khushi, I am just wondering how it all happened for them. Love and then marriage.

Khushi: (tapping her own back) All thanks to me. It was my idea that Jiji confessed her love to Jiju and Mamiji agreed for their marriage.

Arnav: Tumhari nautanki se tumhari Jiji impress ho sakti hai, lekin mami nahi. Mami agreed because I convinced her.

Khuhsi: (shrugged her shoulders and made a face) Whatever..!!!

Arnav: But I must say you are really good at that.

Khushi: (excited) Kya kya..?

Arnav: Drama stuff.

Khushi: Humein kabhi koi drama nahi kiya. Samjhe aap..!!!

Arnav: Oh really..? What were you doing when we had come to your home with Payal's shagun..? Dressed up like mami..?

Khushi recalled that day and told him how she tried to lighten up Payal's grumpy mood by playing her mother-in-law's role. Arnav remembered how shocked he was when Khushi had opened the door for them dressed up like his Mami. They both laughed very hard and she rested head on his shoulder and held his arm. He placed a kiss on her hair.

Arnav: Tum sach mein Sanka Devi hi ho Khushi. But know what you and your antics are like a breath of fresh air in my otherwise gloomy life. I wish you always stay the way you are. Never change for anything because I love my pagal Khushi a lot.

Arnav saw how she was laughing and snuggling into him holding his arm. Something flashed to him and he turned to ask her.

Arnav: Two days after the shagun you had come to my room crying. What had happened then?

Khushi: (suddenly recalling that day she became a little sad) That day I had found out that Shyamji was Anjali Di's husband. I saw him here at RM. When I confronted him about lying to me and cheating on his wife he tried to manipulate me but I threw the ring on his face and ran away from him, and bumped into you.

Arnav: I remember how broken you were when you went from here. I had called you so many times and when you dint answer my calls I had all sorts of wrong intuitions. And finally when you answered my call I yelled on you. Where were you at that time?

Khushi: (sniffing) I was at the temple. I went home after that and called off my engagement.

Arnav explained to Khushi how he was worried for her and how Lavanya had witnessed all his anxiety towards her weel being. How she had sensed that he was not interested in her and it was she who told that they break up mutually, but not inform family till Akash and Payal's engagement. Khushi felt really bad for her friend.

Arnav: Lavanya is indeed a great friend.

Khushi: (again resting her head on his shoulder) Jee. She had even told me to take care of you when she was leaving for London. I dint get to know what she meant by that. But now I realize that she had sensed our feelings long before we became aware of our own. I wish she gets the best in her life.

They both passed a silent prayer for their friend.
