NOO!!
I just read your note at the bottom, and thus, this is my reaction!! Arnav is the rapist??? Damn!
And you know what's even worse, being a woman, somewhere deep down I want Khushi to happily live with her rapist (only because of my love for ArHi)!! I feel so ashamed of myself!! In real life, I would never want anyone to be around a rapist let a lone marry him. OMG this will be so traumatizing. Just because Arnav has forgotten everything, and to save his business, he is forced to marry Khushi (A girl who he believes is a characterless gold digger.) I hope he doesn't torture her even a bit like he did in the show (though it was for different reasons). He better respect her and keep his distance!
Also, you know in your earlier updates, I was so glad that Khushi filed the complaint to fight for her justice. And, now I'm disappointed that she's going to take it back. It's a shame that just because of this so called "Society" ruining the family's reputation, Khushi and many other women like her keep quite. Actually the society we live in is very hypocrite. We all cry about how women should voice out and fight for her justice, but when it comes to taking actions, we stay quite in fear of society (or if we are the "society" we don't think twice before accusing another woman of her character). It's a shame that we live in such society and have such parochial mentality.
I'm pretty sure, Khushi will say "Yes" to the marriage, and I hope that though she won't get her justice legally, she will get it in terms of "society." More than making Arnav's life a living hell, I hope she takes him on the guilt ride for his actions and even worse accusing her character when he was conscious!
Thanks for the pm and please continue soon! :)
EDIT
I just read your note on pg 56! I understand your point of view, but honestly, I don't think you should quit. Rape is a very serious issue and I was really looking forward to reading a mature writer's take on this issue. I believe, you have capabilities to do justice to this ff. Maybe, you can change the ending. Though I love happy endings, this one doesn't have to be one! Khushi doesn't have to forgive Arnav. And as far as sympathizing Arnav is concerned, no matter how much we sympathize with him for his past, we can't forgive him for the sin he has committed. However, one thing I would say is that I wouldn't be feeling guilty of sympathizing him, mainly because he is not that kind of a person. Though, it doesn't justify his action, it's a fact that he was drunk!! He didn't do it on purpose and had he been conscious, I don't think he would have done the same thing. Thus, i feel it's okay to sympathize with him, and whether we should forgive him or not (well, only the people who have been through that pain should be true judges).
That being said, I hope you change your mind and decide to continue! If not then I understand because you have a very valid reason! But then, can you please start another ff?
