"May I come in?" Virat asked, knocking on the door to his room. Maanvi turned around and as she did, Virat became completely mesmerised. She was wearing the same purple dress that he had told her to wear, convenient because it not only exemplified her features, but it also matched with his outfit. He smiled, chuckling slightly.
"Why do you need to ask, it's your room too." She replied before turning around to fix her earrings. Virat walked across the room and hugged her from the back, looking back at the mirror.
"True, but sometimes it's good to be a gentleman." He smirked.
Maanvi laughed lightly, still locked into Virat's arm. "You and gentleman? And what was that earlier with Tarun? God knows what he must be thinking about us now."
He chuckled. "Oh please. Who cares what he thinks? You're my wife and I can do whatever I want. And besides everyone should know how much Prince Virat Singh Vadhera loves his wife." He held her close, and kissed her on the cheek.
Maanvi pretended to pull a face. "Yuck, Virat. When did you become so cheesy?"
Virat gasped. "Hey! Here I am trying to romance my wife and she's calling me cheesy? God, Maanvi. That hurts my reputation."
She laughed. "I'm sorry Mr Cheese."
"Very funny, Mrs Cheese."
"So tell me, why are you here?" Virat smiled, turning her around to face him. He placed his arms around her shoulders and pulled her in.
"Do I need an excuse to spend time with me wife?" Maanvi rolled her eyes.
"No, of course not. But not today. Today is Di and Jiju's big day, and I don't want anyone to take away the attention."
"But it's your special day too. After all, you're going to be crowned the Duchess of Chandia." Maanvi began to hesitate, unsure of how she should act. She was not like them, born into royalty, and so didn't know whether she would be able to fulfil her duties properly. Virat sensed her anxiety and held her hand. "What happened Maanvi? Are you alright?" He placed his hand over her forehead. "You're not ill are you?"
She shook her head. "No, I'm fine. It's not that." She sighed. "Virat, I'm scared. What if things go wrong? After all, I'm just a commoner and I can never fit '"
"-Shut up, Maanvi." He interrupted, placing his index finger over her rouge lips. "Don't say such things. You're a Princess. You're my Princess. And believe me, you are not like anybody else. You're beautiful, and sweet and caring, and I know you'll be the best Duchess ever. Everyone who knows you likes you, and trust me when you're in Chandia and people see you how you are personally, they will love you, just like I love you, except I love you way more than they ever will." She laughed at his comment and hugged him, smiling at his silly comments. He smiled, placing his arm over her petite waist and relishing the moment. "You know, without you I'd probably have lost my belief in being a Royal."
She smiled. "I know, you already told me about a million times."
He chuckled lightly. "What can I do? I can't say it enough."
"Why is it whenever we have a romantic moment, it always become so serious?" She asked him. "I mean, I'm not complaining but seriously, you need to stop with the compliments."
Virat stopped and pulled out of the hug, slowly. He wondered for a second and knew she was right. Every moment they had, he had always told her how much he loved her, and that she was the best thing that happened to him. It wasn't deliberate, but these days he started to say it more and more, as if he never wanted to forget that. As if he was scared of losing her. "I don't know." He said quietly. He looked into her chocolate brown eyes, trying not to get lost in them. She was always so happy, even when she was scared deep inside, she always showed herself strong. She was his strength when he told her about Maya, told her about his baby angel, and she was his strength when Dadaji died. "I guess I'm just scared." He mumbled as Maanvi looked back at the mirror to fix her hair.
"Of what?" She replied.
He shrugged. "I don't know. Of losing you, of losing our love."
She turned around in haste, confused at what he was saying. "Virat." She whispered out his name, shaking her head. She held his hands, tight. "You'll never lose me and I won't let anything happen to us. Believe me. We suffered through so much together, and look at where we are now, husband and wife. This is our happily ever after, Virat. And we'll live through this." She smiled. "And maybe in the future, we'll have children and then grow old together." He smiled at the thought. "There you'll be in your rocking chair still waiting for everyone to leave so that we can romance." She laughed. "Who am I kidding? Even in your old age, you'll still want to romance me in front of everyone, and embarrass our children."
He chuckled. "Do you want children?" He asked, gazing into her.
She blushed red, looking away. "Of course! I've always thought that I'd have two children, a girl and a boy. That way everyone is happy."
"But I won't be."
"Meaning?"
He smirked. "I've always wanted at least five children. Two boys and two girls. The last one can be a surprise, I don't mind."
She gasped. "What? Five? Are you serious?"
"See that's what I was thinking. I wanted at least seven or eight, but then thought I'll keep it at five for my wife's sake."
Maanvi gasped, punching him lightly on the arm. "Virat! That much?" She blushed, still not being able to meet his eye.
"Aw, is Mrs Vadhera shy?" He teased her. "Okay, tell me what names have you thought of?" She gave him an astonished look. "What? Look, if you've thought of how many children you want, then you've must have thought of names too, right?" She blushed. "See! I knew it! Your face clearly shows that you've already thought of the names for our children, so come on, tell me."
"Virat!" She pushed him away, laughing. "I haven't really thought of any, but'there was one." She hesitated. "If you wish then'"
He wrinkled his forehead in thought, wondering what was on her mind. "What, Maanvi?"
"Actually'" She hesitated before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "I was just thinking about that night where you told me about your Angel." Instantly flashbacks of that night in the graveyard came to Virat's mind, it was where he told her about Maya and how his baby girl had died in his arms. It was also the night where all of his anger and sorrow washed away, the beginning of his friendship with Maanvi. He nodded slowly, hinting for her to continue. "You told me that she died before she even properly breathed in this world and that you named her Angel because she was a miracle for you, and that even if she's not with you, she's still watching over you." He smiled, happy because Maanvi never questioned him nor hated him for having a child. She was not judgemental, and that's why he loved her. "So I had this this thought, what if we name our baby girl ' Pari?" Instantly a smile appeared on his lips as he turned around to look at Maanvi. "I mean, she won't be your Angel but she'll be like your Angel." She mumbled. Without a second thought, Virat hugged Maanvi, tears forming in his eyes.
He pushed the tears back, not wanting to cry. "You don't know how happy you made me today, Maanvi." She smiled, thankful that he didn't dislike it. "By accepting my Angel and by making her feel alive. Pari." He whispered the name. "I love it." He laughed, looking at her once more. "You know, today I honestly feel my Angel is looking down at me, and you know what she's saying?" Maanvi shook her head, confused. "She's saying that she desperately wants to see her sister, and that she'll look over her when Pari is in this world."
Maanvi blushed, tears rimming around her eyes. "Tell her that Pari isn't in this world yet, and she won't be any time soon."
"But maybe in a year or two, right?"
"Maybe." She blushed bright red but became startled as a loud knock was banged across the door. Maanvi wondered who it was. Virat quickly opened the door to see Vanshika and Swamini standing outside. Maanvi rushed towards them and greeted them.
"Are you two ready?" Swamini asked. Maanvi and Virat nodded as Vanshika smiled looking at them.
"You both are looking so beautiful." She brushed her finger across her kajal and placed a little dot behind their ears. "May no one put an evil eye on your happiness." Maanvi watched as Virat quietly looked at her, smiling, his thoughts still focused on their future children.
"Now, let's go. After all, the ceremony is just about to begin and we can't not have you guys there." Swamini urged, pushing Virat out of the door whilst Vanshika walked out with Maanvi.
There was a loud outburst of applause as Virat and Maanvi walked upon the stage where Jeevika and Viren where sitting on the large golden chairs. Jeevika gave Maanvi a smile as she watched her sit near the side. There were at least a couple of thousands of people watching them live whilst a million more watched them from the sources of media. Behind them, the Palace was decked in lights, illuminating the early evening. Outside, an array of fresh flowers were placed, their fragrant giving a natural smell to the atmosphere. Maanvi glanced at Virat who looked back at her. She blushed, remembering their previous conversation and began looking around at the surroundings, as to take her mind of it.
Jeevika glanced over to see Maanvi and Virat both blushing. She looked back at Viren and gestured for him to look at the younger couple. He smirked watching Virat look at Maanvi whilst Maanvi looking away out of shyness. "What's up with them?" Viren whispered to Jeevika.
She shrugged, whispering back. "I don't know. But it seems like something must have happened. I mean, why is Maanvi blushing so much and why is Virat literally staring at her?"
Viren chuckled quietly. "Remember when we first got married and we literally tried to spend every moment we had together alone?" Jeevika blushed as Viren smirked. "See, you're as worse as Maanvi now."
"Virenji!" Jeevika said, embarrassed. "Please."
"What am I doing? I was just talking about one thing and you started to blush. That's all." He smirked, trying not to laugh. Jeevika pulled a face whilst Swamini got up on the stage. Suddenly, everyone became quiet, the Royal couples included.
"Ladies and gentleman, thank you all for coming. As you all know today is the coronation of the heir to the Vadhera throne, Prince Viren Singh Vadhera and his wife, Princess Jeevika of Rishania." Swamini spoke loud and clear. People with camera's tried to move closer to get a clear footage whilst others watched everything without moving or speaking. "But today is also a joyous occasion for another member of our family as well." Jeevika and Viren smiled as Swamini called up Maanvi, who looked slightly nervous.
Virat gestured for her to go and that everything will be okay. Maanvi smiled, nodding slightly as she walked up onto the stage. Instantly, people began to take photos as Maanvi smiled, looking into the lenses of some of the cameras. "It's been a few months when my beloved father and this country's ex-King perished but he still is a dear part of us in our hearts. Before he left, he had written Maanvi as the Duchess of Chandia, and henceforth she will take the responsibility of looking over the island of Chandia." As Swamini finished her sentence, everyone began to applaud just as an elderly man presented Swamini with a small silver crown, where in the middle, a round emerald stone shone bright in the light. Maanvi gleamed with delight as Swamini placed the crown over her hair and fitted it perfectly onto her head. Flashes of lights from cameras hit their eyes, yet that didn't stop Maanvi. She glanced over to the side where Virat looked back at her, proud of what she had become.
Without a second thought, he walked over and hugged her just as the media people had started to take photos. Maanvi, a little startled by Virat's sudden hug, slowly pulled away, blushing and happy all at once. Swamini cleared her throat and gestured for Virat to step back. He gave her a sorry look, before smirking at Maanvi, and stepped aside. Swamini gestured to Maanvi to say something, but she couldn't. Maanvi looked back at the amount of people and suddenly became nervous as her mouth began to dry up. She glanced over at Virat, who gestured to her to stay calm and say anything from the heart. She nodded slightly before facing the large crowd in front.
"Thank you for giving me such a warm welcome. I never thought that I'd be here, wearing this crown and speaking to everyone. For me, it feels like a dream and I don't think I'd ever come out of this dream. But I'm not alone. This would not have happened if it wasn't for Virat, who believed in me and gave me the strength to come up here. I know so much has changed in these months, but I promise, I'll do everything I can to make everyone happy." She smiled, just as everyone started to clap, the area becoming loud from applause once again.
Maanvi smiled to take a few last photos before walking away near Virat who was completely in awe of her. She smiled at him, gesturing to him how she looked. "More than beautiful." He whispered to her. She smiled shyly as he held her hand and placed a delicate kiss on them.
"And now, it's time for the coronation of Viren and Jeevika, from this moment on, they will no longer be the Prince and Princess of their countries, but the King and Queen of Chandrilasia." Instantly, a group of men began to blow the fanfare as Vanshika held up her own crown that she had treasured from her time as the Queen and placed it on Jeevika's head just as Swamini placed Vikram's crown on Viren's head. Vanshika smiled, watching both of them. She was extremely emotional, especially to see Viren wear his father's crown, that had been left untouched for so long. Finally, it was given to someone who deserved it dearly.
Vanshika glanced over at Virat and Maanvi who were engrossed in themselves. She prayed silently that they should always be happy like this despite what happens. She couldn't believe just how much Virat had changed; from the angry boy who didn't see eye to eye with her, to the man who always had a smile on his face. Though she saw the Earl's power and thought in Viren, she saw her and Vikram's relationship in Virat and Maanvi's. Both her and Maanvi were commoner's, married into Royal families, yet the difference was that Vanshika had a sad life without Vikram whereas Maanvi had Virat. Vanshika silently prayed for the protection of both of them.
