I cannot believe I am commenting for the Maha Update whilst you already opened the 5th thread! Truth be told it was a lot to take in!! And I needed to read it over again. And when I said I was speechless, I really was (you're probably like how does she find time to tweet me then? haha). I mean what do you say when something is so perfect that there is nothing left to say? Oh gosh let me just start.
"No Amma, she thought bitterly, every memory resurfacing opening up old wounds as her breathing deepened, her hand cramping as she dug her nails into her palm in frustration, Not anymore."
-I really enjoyed how you wrote about Khushi waiting and waiting and waiting for Arnav in a city unknown to her. She was going to break. I just knew it. I've experienced this feeling before, and heck I am just so impatient. I just know what she was going through at the moment, the feeling of having to depend on someone while feeling scared and lost and ugh thats just so hard.
"Her eyes noticed that one button was hanging lose, and it would probably break soon."
- Metaphor for her? Him? Them? EIther way I loved this line.
"Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret." - Ambrose Bierce
- I don't know if you were talking about Khushi. BUT OMG. This is the best quote ever to describe Arnav. Best quote ever. I was giggling when I read this because LOL Arnav needs to see this. This is him 24.7
"her knuckles completely white as she clenched her fists tighter, and her body stiff with tension."
- I really like how you described Khushi's emotions through her body language. The way her nails dug into her palm at first and then it just tightened into a fist. It really helped when I was imagining the scene in my head. And gosh was Arnav annoyed by this.
"Sorry Amma, this marriage was never going to work."
- I was wondering why khushi kept mentioning Amma whilst this whole thing was going down. It's because (well to me) the only reason why she tried so hard to make this marriage work was for her family. She herself was never like "wow I like Arnav I really hope he can like me too" I don't think either of them, im stating the obvious here, but okay neither Khushi or Arnav had tried to make this marriage work for each other or themselves. Just for their family. And when they do try to make it work for each other then that will be a very interesting stepping stone. And the way Khushi said this, with such a finality. I wish she had said it out loud though. But I am wondering now, will she ask for a divorce?
I really loved the maha update, the way you had Khushi described and whatnot was perfect. Nuff said. Now Arnav, he obviously wanted a reaction out of her but didn't know he would be getting a legit one. It scared him at first, to see Khushi so quite. And though I really liked the scenes in which he tried to find out what was wrong with Khushi (when he whispered her name, asked her what was wrong, tried to touch her shoulder etc) he should have known it was due to him. He wanted to ask her if something happened to her, well yeah man it was you. He was angry, and Khushi's speech at the end was perfect to me. She hurt him, but come on so had he numerous times. And she used the mother card, which was so bang on. When he had said sorry, they both were shell shocked. That's a first. And then the update where Arnav is talking to himself. He is confused, but should he be? He was thinking about her during the meeting, and I thought that he was pretty clear on his feelings towards her. But then again the sorry was not expected from either of them. I loved how you described Arnav, he doesn't have a way with words, but actions. And with the article coming out, I think it will be his actions that will somehow manage to get across to Khushi. And now I'm wondering what he called Aman for? Did it have to do with Khushi and the article or am I over thinking this part? What will happen when they go back to India? Ahh so many thoughts!!!
But ergg. I feel like I've said too much but not enough. Loved it!
