Chapter 8

After her break up with Rey, Sharon was not seen with anybody else. She used to remain in her own world and her main motive was only to go to college, study and return home. This did not go unnoticed.

Swayam was noticing her behavior and he felt kind of awkward. Though he was not interested in starting a conversation with her, he felt sorry for her. Even after what had happened between them that night.

Rey on the other hand, was feeling lonely. He had Swayam and Kriya's company but he missed Sharon's presence in his life. He still had feelings for her and the emotions were not going to end at all.

"You okay Rey?" Swayam asked him.

"Yeah I am" Rey replied.

"Rey I just want to say that if you ever feel lonely, I am there to help you out. I am always there with you." Swayam smiled and put brotherly arm around him.

"Thanks Swayam." He knew that Sharon's place in his life could not be filled by anyone else.

"By the way, sorry for informing late...AVP wants to meet you." Rey added.

"Meet me? Why?"

"I don't know. As the GS of this college, she just asked me to inform you this..."

"Ok fine...I'll go then. Her cabin right?"

"Yes"

Swayam knocked the door of the cabin.

"May I come in ma'am?"

"Come in" A voice said from inside the cabin.

Swayam walked in to see the big room. AVP was sitting on a chair and someone else was there too. Wait a minute. Sharon? What was she doing here?

AVP asked me to stand next to Sharon. Sharon was the cultural secretary of the college and I was surprised when I saw her there.

"Ma'am you called?" I asked.

"Yes."

I put on a quintessential expression for her to understand that I was wondering why she had called me there.

"You see, Swayam...The College does not have an ACS. And Sharon cannot handle all the work by herself. So I would like you to assist her from now on. You are the new ACS."

"Ma'am but, I am new to this college...Only a month I guess..."

"Yeah so?"

"Do you think I'll be able to handle my responsibilities?"

"Why not? Are you bad at it?"

"No ma'am" I mumbled.

"Ok then...you are the new ACS. Sharon it's better if you tell him everything about his work.

I was glad because Khushboo ma'am made Swayam the ACS. And thank god, she didn't tell him the real reason. What would Swayam think? That I suggested his name to ma'am and that I wanted him to become the ACS. That would be so weird. Though it is the truth, I don't want Swayam to know about this.

I nodded.

"You can go now" she said.

"Thank you ma'am" Swayam said.

"Just make sure that you fulfill every single thing that makes you a good ACS." she said.

"Yes ma'am" He nodded.

He went outside the office. I followed him. I was about to increase my walking speed when he said something to me.

"So why did you suggest my name to the AVP for the ACS post?"

"Huh?"

"Why did you ask the AVP to make me the ACS?"

Crap.

"I did not." I mentally face palmed.

"I mean, Why should I? I have better things to do other than suggesting your name to her." I said.

"Really?"

"Yeah" I said.

"Are you sure?"

I stopped. He stopped too. I looked at him with a stern expression on my face.

"Listen, I don't have short term memory loss that makes me forget things every fifteen minutes. I did not suggest your name to AVP. She chose you because she thought that you are capable enough to handle the responsibilities. So just be happy this way and stop finding the reason because of which she made you the ACS."

He looked down. I had spoken a lot.

"Do you want to know your duties?" I asked him changing the topic.

"Yes" He bluntly said.

"Rehearsal hall at 5" I said and walked on.

"Fine" he said.

It was 5 and he was already late... I did not even have his number. And I did not want to call up Rey, begging for his phone number.

He came at 5.15 and I was already irritated.

"Do you know what time it is?"

"5.15" He said calmly. Huh! No shame at all. He was late and he didn't even care to apologize.

"Sorry for coming late" He said.

"Give me your number." I said.

"What?"

"Do you need an ear operation? I said give me your number." I replied frantically.

"I don't. It's just that I have never seen a girl ask a boy for his number." He grinned.

"Are you going to give me your number or not?" I asked.

"Yeah ok."

He gave me his number and then I said something.

"Different people do things differently. I took your number because officially you are the ACS." I smiled.

I don't know why I smiled but I felt like. The thought of him being the ACS made me excited. Actually, the thought of spending time with him did. And then I realized that I was thinking rubbish.

She assigned me some duties and asked me to wait today after six because we had to complete a report. It was 5.30 when my hunger pangs startled me. I went to the canteen and saw that all the other tables were occupied except the one where she was sitting. Kriya was there in the canteen too but I preferred Sharon to her.

"Can I sit here?" I asked.

She analyzed the whole area and saw that all other tables were occupied. Then she nodded.

She was drinking a milkshake and I ordered the same for me. Not that I was following her, but I really like chocolate milkshake.

"You like it too?" She began.

"Yeah." I said.

She took a sip and saw Rey entering the canteen.

I saw that Rey was entering the canteen. I am really missing his company for the past few days. Sometimes I feel that I should not have broken up with him.

"Are you okay?" Swayam said.

"Yeah"

He turned back to look and saw Rey who was gaping at me. I was doing the same but I then turned to look at Swayam.

"Rey?" He asked.

I nodded my head in dismay.

"It's okay. It's natural after a break up."

"How do you know? Have you ever been in a relationship?"

"No I am more of a study oriented person. But I know. Rey feels the same." He said.

"What...what does Rey feel?" I asked.

"He misses you." Swayam replied.

I know Rey is not a good guy for Sharon. He is not a Casanova but he is just not right for her. I shouldn't have told her that he misses her. But I cannot help it. If she misses him too, it's better if they both...umm...patch up?

Ok so I am here ..finally. I liked this update. You showed both their POV's alternatively which was a nice change.
Plus, it was really nice to know that Sharon suggested Swayam's name as ACS but didn't want him to know that😊
