She had slept after so many days. Arnav carefully lifted her and made her lie down on her bed and covered her with the blanket. Arnav sat down beside her caressing her hair. He had to tell it to Anjali. He had to tell his Di that things were coming well. He had to tell her.

"Bhaiyya!!! Bhaiyya!!! Please come quickly!!!" Arnav heard Hari Prakash calling him.

"Kya hua Hari Bhaiyya? Why are u so tensed?"

"Bhaiyya… woh… Didi…"

The very mention of his sister made Arnav tense.

"Di?? Di ko kya hua??"

"I don't know bhaiyya… you please come…."

A terrified Arnav and HP hurried out to reach for Anji. Arnav opened the door to his Di's room and the sight in front of him sent shivers down his spine.

"DI!!!"

He rushed to her side. Anjali was trying hard to breathe. She had the wheezing problem.

"Di…. What happened? wheezing all of a sudden? Di!!!"

Arnav said as he rubbed Anjali's back as she hit her chest hard feeling the pain of suffocation.

"Stop it Di!!! Where's your Puff? Shit!!!"

Arnav rummaged the entire room searching for the inhaler to make Anjali feel better. This hadn't happened in years. The last time she had had wheezing was when she learnt about Kunal. But today? Arnav couldn't find a reason for this sudden frenzy of Anji.

"Ch- Chote….(taking deep breathes), Chote…. I am…. Fine…" Anjali managed to blirt.

"OH SHUT UP ANJALI!!!! I very well know you are not!!"

Both arnav and Anjali looked at the door as they heard the new voice talking to Anjali with so much right.

Arnav couldn't believe his sight. No… this cant be…

The man came running towards to Anjali and sat by her side. He pulled out the inhaler and made Anjali take a puff from it. Anjali was too shocked to react. As was Arnav. Even in his deadliest of dreams, he had not expected that this would happen.

"You still don't know how to take care of yourself have you??" He said as he made her lie down. Anjali silently obeyed.

"Damn Anji!!! I shouldn't have called you!!! But I wanted to wish you, talk to you, let you know that I am still all yours. Damn!! This is all my fault….I.."

"Kunal…." He was cut off by Anjali.

Wish?? Arnav thought. And only then it striked him that it was their anniversary. Arnav silently exited the room. He knew that they needed some time. Alone.

Kunal looked at Anjali. She was still all the same, just the shimmer in her eyes was all gone.

Anjali analyzed the man sitting beside him. He had not changed a bit. The broead chest, the glittering eyes, that love which she had seen for her was still there. But he no longer had the happiness in his eyes. Something was wrong with him. But this was not the time.

"Y-You came back?" Anjali said as she touched his cheek with her palm.

Kunal closed his eyes in relief. How he had missed those soft hands touching his skin.

"Aana pada… I had promised I'll always be there for you…"

Kunal said as he kissed her forehead. Anjali sighed. His touch, his masculine cologne, the musky scent, the warmth that his body radiated…. She had missed every single thing about him.

"I Love you…." Anjali heard him whisper. A small giggle escaped her lips.

"I love you more…" Anjali replied.

"I am sorry…" he said.

Anjali heaved another sigh. She had known that he would say this.

"Its okay Kunal…. But.. where were you Kunal?"

Kunal stiffened at this question and looked into Anjali's eyes as his fingers lingered on her cheeks.

"Anji… Promise me that we'll never talk about the past…"

"But Kunal…."

"Sshh… Just promise me…. I promise I'll kiss away all the pain…." Kunal said as he silenced her by placing a finger on her lips.

Anjali nodded her head. She didn't give a damn to the past. All she cared was about the past and the present. And she was going to make sure that this time her life was perfect.

"Promise…."

Anjali kissed him on the cheeks as he flashed a smile at her.

Arnav stood outside looking at his sister. The shimmer in her eyes were back. She was happy and that's all was what he wanted. A lone tear escaped his eyes as a smile curved his face.
