I don't know how I missed this.

But I completed reading it till chapter 5 now.

All the chapters are awesome.

Lost In Love

Part 6

"Meet me at the rehearsal hall in 20 minutes."

That was the message that Swayam had sent her. Sharon looked at it. She was annoyed. "What the hell does this guy think of himself? Who gave him the right to order me around? I will meet him whenever I am in the mood. I will not let him order me around" decided Sharon. She took a shower, chose her clothes carefully and dressed up. By the time she entered the rehearsal hall, she was almost an hour late. She could not see Swayam anywhere. "Has he left after getting tired of waiting for me? No way! He must have gone out for sometime. He will come back in a minute. After all, this deal we have made between us is important to him as well." She thought. She waited, and waited, and waited. After sometime she looked at the watch and realized that she has been waiting for twenty minutes!

"That's enough. I am leaving" she concluded angrily. As she turned to leave she saw Swayam walking into the hall. He was listening to music and came in as if he has nothing to care for in this entire world. Sharon's temper rose to its peak. Firstly, he was late. Secondly, the casual manner in which he came in clearly annoyed her. She stormed up to him and snatched away his headphones and iPod. Swayam was taken aback.

Swayam: Whoa! What the hell was that?

Sharon: I should be asking this question. What the hell is this? I have been waiting here for more than twenty minutes now! Where were you?

Swayam: Well, there is one thing you should know, Swayam Shekhawat waits for no one, everybody waits for Swayam Shekhawat. I guessed that you would want me to keep waiting, so I came in late. You know, Sharon, you are really predictable.

Sharon: What rubbish?! No I am not!

Swayam: But you are. Anyway give back my iPod.

Sharon (with a naughty smile playing on her face): You are not getting it back.

Swayam: Why?

Sharon: My wish!!

Swayam (suddenly turning serious): And your wish is my command.

Somehow Sharon felt like he was being sincere when he said it. She looked up at those brownie brown eyes. His eyes always contradicted his exterior personality. He might have been rude and mean with her, but his eyes seemed kind and honest. Swayam too was looking into Sharon's green orbs. He could see a lot of emotions there. The girl might seem shallow and stupid, her eyes were deep and full of pain, he thought. She had gone through a lot in life. "What am I thinking? Why am I thinking about him /her?" they both wondered.

Sharon: What did you just say?

Swayam pretended not to know. He acted surprised, "What? What did I say?"

Sharon: Well, you said my wish was your command.

Swayam: Oh get a life Sharon! Why would I say that? I didn't complete my sentence. What I was saying was- Your wish was my command, ha-ha, that's what you think? You wish to not return my iPod and I will be okay with that, you really think so?

Sharon: Well, you don't have a choice.

Swayam: One always has a choice.

Sharon: Really now? What are you going to do about it?

Swayam: I will not say what I will do, I will just do it.

He then abruptly tried to snatch away the iPod from Sharon's hands. Bur Sharon was on her guard. She moved away quickly.

Sharon: So this is what you are going to do? Well, let me tell you, that you are not going to succeed.

She started running around the hall and Swayam followed her. They were actually enjoying this. Sharon was quite a fast runner and she was escaping from Swayam's grip every time he tried to get hold of her. This went of for quite a few minutes, with the two of them running around the hall, as the hall echoed their laughter. Finally, Swayam got hold of Sharon's left hand and pulled her towards himself. Thanks to the force with which Swayam had pulled Sharon, she banged on to his chest. Swayam slowly tightened his grip around her by holding her left hand with his right hand and her right hand with his left hand. He put both her hands behind her leaving no gap between them. Swayam tightened his grip over her arms making Sharon grimace in slight pain. Yet, to her own great surprise, she did not resist even once. She was dumbstruck. Swayam slowly moved his face closer to her leaving a gap of a few centimeters between both their lips. Sharon closed her eyes anticipating what was coming next. Then suddenly, he realized her. As she opened her eyes, she saw Swayam leaning on the wall in front of her, smiling a playful smile, with his iPod in his hands. Sharon had not realized when Swayam had slowly taken out the iPod from her hands. Sharon did not know how to react. She did not know whether to be embarrassed, upset or angry. She decided to show the third emotion.

Sharon: How dare you do that> How dare you come so close to me? You don't have the right, okay?

Swayam (still smiling his innocently playful smile): But I had to take back my iPod.

Sharon: So you are going to do anything to get you what you want, right?

As Sharon's temper rose, Swayam seemed to enjoy every bit of it. He laughingly said, "Exactly!"

Sharon: You are disgusting! I am tolerating you just because I want Rey back, that is it!

The playful smile on Swayam's face immediately disappeared. He suddenly remembered why were they there. His face assumed a seriousness which kind of scared Sharon.

Swayam: SO without wasting anymore time, let's get to the plan, shall we?

Sharon: Of course. I am, here to discuss that only.

Swayam: Sharon, the plan is very simple. See, Rey is just a normal guy, so it is not going to be difficult to change his mind.

Sharon: What do you mean?

Swayam: Guys are like that only. They are perpetually confused about their love lives. The moment there is a misunderstanding between him and his girlfriend, it is just all over for him.

Sharon: Wait that is not true! Rey is not that kind of a guy!

Swayam: It is. I will prove it to you.

Sharon: Fine! But what is the plan?

Swayam: The plan consists of three stages.

First- Show how much you care for him.

Second- Create misunderstandings between Rey and Kria.

And the last but not the least- When he needs you the most, ignore him, avoid him, make him jealous, to make him realize what you actually mean to him.

Sharon: So this is your "simple"plan? I don't think it is going to work. You know what? This was a big mistake! I am leaving!

She turned around to leave. Burt Swayam caught hold of her right hand with his right hand and placed his left hand on top of it, basically sandwiching her hand with both his hands. His hands were really warm. Sharon's hands which were sandwiched between Swayam's hands began to sweat and yet she felt his touch to be very soothing.

Swayam: Trust me on this, please.

Sharon looked directly at Swayam' s eyes, his brownie brown eyes.

Sharon: Why should I? I don't even know you properly.

Swayam: Because you know this that I won't break your trust, Sharon, do you trust me?

Sharon: Yes, I do.

Swayam (now letting go of her hands): Great. We will start with our plan from tomorrow. I will text you or call you, don't worry. So see you later, okay?

He gave her a warm smile and left. But Sharon stayed back. She had to think about a lot of things. "What am I doing? I hope whatever I am doing IS the right thing to do. Sharon, you love Rey. You cannot let Rey be with Kria. She is not at all perfect for him. You are. But why do I feel so unsure then? And why the hell did I let Swayam come so close to me? What will Rey think when he gets to know this? No, he will never get to know about this and the deal with Swayam. I don't want him to think of me as manipulative. But why do I trust Swayam so much? I don't even know him properly. It has been just two days since I met him for the first time. Sharon, you have never let anyone come so close to you, not even Rey. I guess this is because I love Rey so much. I trust Swayam because I have to, in order to get Rey back. Swayam just cannot affect me. He just cannot affect me. The only reason why he is getting so much importance from me is because I want Rey, and that is it!"

Realizing that she was talking to herself, and somehow not being entirely convinced about whatever she said to herself, made her angry. "Why am I not convinced?" she shouted and stormed out of the hall, prepared to blast anyone who came across her.

Two Days Later…

At Sharon's bedroom

"Gosh! I hate Swayam so much! It has been two days since we made the deal and yet he has not even attempted to talk to me once. And every time I tried to talk to him, he just ignored me. He was acting like a total stranger in these two days. And it's Friday today. The weekend is coming. College is going to be closed for the weekend. How are we going to go ahead with this plan? What is he up to? He is just testing my patience. Why is this guy like this? At one moment, he comes so close to me as if he has known me for ages and the next mo9ment he behaves like a complete stranger! Should I call him? No, I guess that would be too much. I might look desperate. Maybe I should just text him. "Sharon started looking for her phone. She was terribly confused. She wanted to talk to Swayam but didn't want to initiate the conversation. But she had no choice. Swayam had left her with no choice. "I can't believe I am doing this. Gosh! Love can make us do things that we never imagined in our most horrible dreams" she concluded. She found her phone below her pillow. She typed the message and then instantly deleted it. Instead, she dialed his number and waited nervously for him to pick up the call. "Why am I so nervous? It's just Swayam" she wondered.

Swayam (in a surprised tone): Hello, Sharon?

Sharon: Don't you think if my number is flashing on your phone screen, then obviously I am the one who is calling?

Swayam: True that. Well, I am shocked. You actually sounded intelligent for a moment.

Swayam laughed at his own joke.

Sharon: Not funny!

Swayam: But it is funny!

Sharon: Oh shut up! I called you for a reason. I don't have time to waste.

Swayam: Really? Then why did you waste two days of your life waiting for me to call?

Sharon (fumbling): That is because…um…um…

Swayam: Yeah! Yeah! I get it! Girls and their boys-will-initiate policy!

Sharon: you are forgetting I was the one who called you!

Swayam: Fine! Let's discuss the plan, okay?

Sharon: Fine!

Swayam: So you remember our first stage of the plan, right? You have to show Rey how much you care for him. Okay now tell me, what are the important5 days in this week? Is there any important event coming up?

Sharon: Yeah, as you know I am the CS of the college, so I need to give a presentation of all the cultural events of the year to the Vice Principal on Tuesday. So Tuesday is a very important day.

Swayam: Oh hello Miss. CS! I meant events in Rey's life!

Sharon: Oh that! He is going to turn 19 on Sunday. It's his birthday, you see. But then he doesn't really like talking about his birthday very much. So…

Swayam: Really? That's great! I am sure Kria doesn't know this!

Sharon: How can you be so sure? Of course she knows! She is his girlfriend! She will definitely know when her boyfriend's birthday is!

Swayam: No she doesn't! Or else she would have told me!

Sharon: But how are you so sure?

Swayam: Because unlike your best friend, my best friend tells me everything!

Sharon: Don't say anything about Rey, okay?

Swayam: Okay lets cut this out. So what are you planning for his birthday?

Sharon: I haven't planned anything yet.

Swayam: Good. So this time you are going to bake his birthday cake and throw him a surprise birthday party.

Sharon: Baking and me? No way!

Swayam: Yes way! You have to do this for Rey. You will have to make him feel loved and cared for. After all he will be really sad when he will get to know that his girlfriend does not remember his birthday.

Sharon: What if Kria gets to know now?

Swayam: Trust me she won't. I direct her entire life. Trust me on this! Anyway I will hang up now. Bye.

Swayam hung up without letting even Sharon reply back.

"Why does this guy always do this to me? "Trust me"- he just gets me on that whenever he talks to me. Why should I trust him? He is a nobody. I didn't even know that he existed just a few days back! May be I am thinking too much!! I should just sleep. Anyway I will have to learn all about baking tomorrow."

Sharon threw herself on the bad and covered herself entirely with the quilt.

It was Sunday. Sharon had arranged a surprise birthday party for Rey. The entire gang knew about it except Rey and Kria. They were told it was just a random weekend party at Sharon's place. Sharon had supervised all aspects of the party from the decoration, food, drinks, music, guest lists, and what not! Moreover, she had baked a huge birthday cake for Rey all by herself. The guests were there, all her friends had arrived except, Rey, Kria and Swayam. She stood at the front door waiting for Rey. She had worked really hard. And now under the layers of make up and the beautiful blue dress she was wearing, she could feel her tired body on the verge of collapsing. "Rey will be so happy. And I will be happy seeing him happy" she comforted herself by saying this again and again in her mind.

She then saw Swayam coming, in a grey pullover and white trouser, looking like the angel she had thought him to be on the first night of their meeting. He looked concerned.

Swayam: Are you okay? You look very tired.

This is was the first time in the entire evening when someone had actually noticed how tired and sick she was feeling. She looked up at him. She could see concern and care oozing out from those brownie brown eyes.

Swayam; It's all my fault actually. I put all the responsibilities on you. I should have been there to help you. I am so sorry.

Sharon: Its okay, Swayam. I was supposed to do this alone only. I am supposed to do all this all by myself for Rey. Anyway I am used to doing things alone. Have done it all my life.

Swayam took her hand in his hand and covered it with his other hand. She felt the warmth in his touch. She felt like holding on to his hand forever.

Swayam: Sharon, I am there now. If you ever need any help, I am just a call away, okay?

Sharon felt like hugging him tightly. She wanted to shed away all the pain that she was experiencing all of a sudden. And she knew somehow that Swayam's touch could help her overcome everything negative in her life. She felt like submitting herself in his arms and crying her heart out. A tear very slowly escaped her eye. Swayam was about to rub it away when Sharon caught hold of Swayam's hand which he had extended to wipe away her tear and moved it away and freed her other hand from his grasp with a jerk. Swayam was surprised, but Sharon had found her senses back by then. "No Swayam, you don't have the right" she said and walked away from him. As she walked away, she kept thinking. "What am I doing? Why am I letting him affect me so much? Why do I keep telling him things which I have never told anyone, not even Rey? I am just losing it!"

She saw Rey and Kria entering from the door just the. She ran towards him and hugged him. "Happy birthday!" She almost screamed. Taking the cue, their friends started shouting happy birthday in unison. Everyone started coming forward and wishing him. They hugged him, wished him, and showered him with confetti. Rey looked real happy, smiling ear-to-ear. Kria looked extremely disturbed though. After sometime, Rey came to Sharon.

Rey: Sharon, I can't believe you organized a surprise party for me! That is so sweet of you! I feel so loved at the moment. Thank you so very much! You truly are my best friend!

Sharon: Anything for you Rey. You are very special to me, this is just nothing! Rey, you know…

Before Sharon could say anything more, Kria joined them.

Kria: Rey, happy birthday! (She gave Rey a tight hug which Sharon pretended not to see). Darling, it is your birthday and I didn't even know! I am so sorry! I didn't even get a gift for you.

Rey: You wished me that is the best gift. Well. A kiss would be a cherry on the cake.

Kria (now glaring at him): Shut up Rey. You know na, I am not comfortable about all this.

Rey: I know sweetheart, I am sorry, (He held his ears and kept saying sorry).

Kria: Aww…I am going to make it up for you baby. I promise.

Sharon couldn't take it anymore. She had to interrupt.

Sharon: Rey, I have to show you something.

She caught hold of Rey's hand and started dragging him away from Kria. They went up to the centre of the room where all their friends were waiting for Rey. Sharon went inside and got the cake. It was a huge dark chocolate cake with white icing. It looked delicious.

Rey: Wow! That's my birthday cake!

Sharon: Yes, and its very special. You know why? Because I baked it. It's a small birthday gift for you.

Rey: Wow! Really? I never knew you could bake! Thank you so much! This is the best gift ever!

He hugged her again.

Sharon: Just like I said, anything for you, Rey.

The gang started singing the birthday song like kids and everyone else followed suit. Rey cut the cake, but much to Sharon's disappointment, fed the first bite to Kria. Sharon had expected Rey to feed the first bite to her, like he had always done. She felt ignored. She had expected Rey to shower her with all his attention, like he had always done. She felt very upset. But somehow she controlled herself and put up a happy face. But it was difficult to control her anger with Kria and Rey's happy and smiling faces in front of her. Just then, she received a text message on her phone. It was from Swayam. It read like this-

"It's okay Sharon. Don't be upset. You have to remember Kria is still his girlfriend. You have managed to impress Rey. Trust me. Mission accomplished. 😊"

Sharon looked up and found Swayam standing at a distance with Nil and Vicky. He was smiling at her. She smiled back. After a few seconds, she received another text from Swayam.

"You look almost beautiful when you smile. So keep smiling."

Sharon wanted to be angry with him for calling her "almost beautiful". "What the hell! I AM beautiful!" she said in her mind and yet she couldn't stop herself from smiling back at him again.
