Chapter Twenty Two

So Angad Khanna actually cooked that night. Dev came in to stop him first, but he didn't budge. Then Sana and Neha came to see how things were going, if he needed any help. Then told him they would do the rest. He was Angad Khanna, stubborn. Yash and Sahil also stopped by later to tease him, and finally Kiran came to him. She didn't try to stop him, but just make sure he was ok. He was he actually was perfect. They all knew very well that he was only cooking because Kripa had created circumstances, that forced him to do so.

Five minutes before he was done Kripa walked into the kitchen just to come annoy him. She hadn't seen him in almost two hours now. She glanced at the clock. It was eight, and she couldn't deny that the food smelled great.

"Hi Angad." She leaned against the counter so she could see him properly.

He ignored, and turned to wipe his hands. She smirked, it would be fun to pacify him tonight, she thought. He was angry and even someone as young as Esha could look into his beautifully sexy eyes and tell.

She let out a small laugh before starting to walk around the kitchen behind him. "Can I help you?" she asked standing behind him with the fridge door open.

He turned around with a bottle of wine in his hand. "Yes, leave and it will help tremendously." There was pure irritation in his voice. He looked at her teasing eyes for a second and then shut the door of the fridge, took a sleek wine glass out of a cabinet.

She picked up a handful of grapes and watched him pour the red wine and then sip. "You won't get drunk off of wine, honey. Don't try."

He turned around furiously and slammed the glass on the counter. "Be careful." She pointed at the glass. "Is the wine any good? Or tasteless."

"Kripa," he set his jaw, still angry. "Leave now!" he was going to scream if she didn't. She bit her lower lip feeling guilty for annoying him so much. She looked at him sorry, but he turned around will a roll of his eyes. Without another word she walked out the kitchen.

Neither Kripa nor Angad made an effort to talk until dinner was served fifteen minutes later.

The Khanna family sat on the table together, with Angad standing beside his mother. He had not only cooked the dinner, but set the table for the night as well.

Kripa was fiddling with the ring in her left hand, anxious to why Angad wasn't sitting down as well. One by one he served everyone. It was a small meal without six different dishes because that's the way dinner was cooked every night at their house. The dinner consisted of rice, white 'chola,' chapattis, and salad. Everyone was looking at Angad, everyone but Kripa.

"Start!" he said annoyed.

"Why don't you?" Sana asked looking at Sahil and then him. "You cooked." She laughed nervously. Sahil looked down at his daughter who was looking at the sulking Kripa. He followed her gaze and looked at her as well, smiled.

"No, I already had my dinner. You guys can enjoy the meal and I will enjoy my movie in my room."

Before Kripa could say anything he was gone. She sighed mentally. I should go check on him, she told herself. Before she could stand Neha stood. "I'll go see him."

"Neha," she quickly said before Neha could go. Kripa bit her lip and then stood. "If you don't mind I can?"

Neha grinned, "Of course you can." Kripa smiled weakly and took his dinner with her.

Kripa didn't knock on the door but just entered, like she had a right on Angad Khanna and his room. She didn't have to knock. She looked at Angad sitting on the bed tuning his guitar. She set the plate on the glass table in front of the sofa on the other side of the room and then walked to him.

He didn't look up, but behaved like he was alone in the room. He ran the tips of his finger over the strings of his guitar. He was about to try again, but Kripa took his hand. He still didn't look up at her. She picked up the guitar with its neck and set it against the wall.

A few minutes later she was sitting in front of him. "Um…" she started. Then cleared her throat. Ok so why was he so mad again? She recollected everything from the point Dev got home and they talked. Oh yes, she made him cook.

But I was just joking. Then she absently nodded her head.

Angad watched her with a smile; the guilt in her eyes wanted him to laugh. He just wanted to hug her tightly and tell her he had been bugging her for absolutely no reason. He looked cooking the meal.

She looked up and he looked down erasing the smile from his lips. "Ok." she said slowly. "Want to have dinner?" She smiled nervously. He looked at her. "I'm starving."

"Do you need to clean the wax from your ears?" he asked sounding annoyed.

"No." She bit the inside of her lip nervously. He was so angry, she concluded. Angad was really anger with her. She was moving in her place again. Angad looked at her again pressing his lips together. She was going to start crying any minute. But he decided to play along a little more.

"Then why are you asking me? I just told everyone that I already had dinner."

"Really?" she stood up and crossed her arms. "Good, so did I. Now that I don't have to worry about it I'm leaving." She turned hitting her leg against the bed. "Ow!" She placed her hand on her knee and rubbed it. Angad took her hand but she jerked it back. "I'm fine."

"Ok. I'll see you on Monday then."

She frowned with glazed eyes. Looked at him; waiting for him to stand up to stop her, but he didn't.

He looked up, "You're still here?"

She was angry now. She picked up his guitar and dropped it on the floor on his foot. "Ow!" he screamed. It didn't hurt; it was a feather light acoustic guitar after all.

Neha and Sana stopped eating and looked at each other, so who was hitting who? Sia giggled and then covered her mouth. Yash and Sahil exchanged a look after looking at a grinning Dev and a busy in eating Kiran.

A few minutes later they heard footsteps and then saw Kripa walking past the room without any eye contact with anyone and leaving the place.

Sana was waiting for Angad to show up, but he didn't until another thirty seconds. He sat down where Kripa was and picked up a plate, without noticing that Kripa wasn't even there.

"You're going to eat?" Neha asked confused. He looked up at her and then glanced the table.

"Oh god!" He stood up and ran out. How can I be so stupid to not notice? He asked running to the door. She was half was down the drive way, but she was simply strolling, not quickly walking. He slowly down and caught up with her.

"Why are you trespassing my house Ma'am?" She didn't look at him but they continued strolling. Finally he took her hand. "Kripa." She looked at him, his lower lips pulled out like a little baby's. The tears had dried and that was a good sing. "So," he jammed both his hands in his pocket. "You're not going to get your keys?" She looked at him in surprise, and then looked away embarrassed. She had forgotten her keys in her jacket near the tree.

"I'm walking home." She told him cheekily.

"Good, you might loose some weight. Just make sure you get there and then back here to the hospital by Monday morning."

She let out a loud groan. "What do you want Angad?"

"Dinner with you." He breathed out a puff of breath that he could see in front of her. He was getting goose bumps on his arms and Kripa on her legs. "I mean I cooked because you asked me to, how can you not eat?"

"I already did." She turned and they both stared walking again.

"Oh I get it." She stopped again and looked at him. "You want to wait until everyone is finished eating so we can eat alone." He paused to read the expression of frustration in her eyes. "Awe! I love you too, Kripa." He nodded, and then shivered, followed by a sneeze.

As soon as he did, "Ok let's go back inside." She said in the quickest manner, grabbed his hand, held it, and took him back to the house.

He smiled at her concern for him. He sneezed a few more times before they were inside the warm house again. The Christmas tree wasn't lighted yet, but it was finished.

The dinner table was almost cleaned up, but the food was left out for Kripa and Angad. It was freezing in the dinning room. Kripa could feel the hair on the back of her neck stand up and her legs shiver. She had the tendency of getting sick around Christmas time every year. This year she couldn't because she wasn't getting a month off to recover from it.

Angad and Kripa had dinner in silence, and they were done by nine. Finally when Kripa had finished eating and Angad was still eating she looked up at him with a smile. The food was good, she couldn't deny that. "Where did you learn to cook, Angad?"

He looked up at her and cleaned his plate. "Well, I lived alone for quite a few years so I learned. I've taken a few cooking classes."

"Hmmm." Kripa drank another glass of water and then looked back at him again. "So you mean if our plans were to backfire, and if I do, unfortunately, get married to you, I have a permanent cook waiting for me?" With her hands folded under her chin she waited for his answer.

"No." he replied rising. Kripa stood with him and took her plate with her as well.

"Why?" she watched him turn the water on. "I'll do our dishes." She slightly pushed him aside and started.

He sat on the counter beside her drying them as she washed. Because I rather have my wife cooks. I don't mind cooking, but I rather eat than cook everyday. We could take turns, I wouldn't allow you to cook everyday, or Amna, or anyone else. It's a pain. I don't know how Mom and Sana manage everyday." He sighed as he thought about it when Sahil entered the kitchen with Sia in his arms.

"Good you guys patched up!" He was happy that Angad was in "love" with Kripa, as so was Dev. "But why are you making Kripa do the dishes?"

"I didn't tell her, she pushed me away."

He nodded, and looked at Sia. "Maybe your Mom should learn from Kripa."

Sia giggled, and kissed his cheek. "I want my milk Daddy." He shifted her in his other arm and looked at her. "Angad Chachu cooked for us. You've never done that. If Mom makes you do the dishes sometimes it's ok. Don't give her a hard time." She grinned.

Sahil blinked at her. "I know for a fact that you are Sana's daughter now."

Angad and Kripa were giggling as they heard the two continue the conversation, when Sana joined.

"Sia?" She looked at Angad and Kripa. "Angad? You're making her do the dishes? That's ridiculous."

"Relax Sana." Now this was a first, Kripa Kapoor was telling someone to relax. Wow. "It's ok." She wiped her hands with a towel and then kissed Sia's cheek. "That was very smart, Sia."

Sana looked confused, "So what am I missing out on?"

"Nothing Sana." Sahil said covering Sia's mouth. "I'll take Sia to our room, why don't you get her milk?"

"See, Dad can't even warm a glass of milk while Chachu can cook."

"Because your Chachi can't. So I had to learn Na!" Angad said with a sigh.

"That's enough, Angad." Kripa said looking at him. "I could write a book about the flaws in you."

Sana and Sahil shook their heads. "Sia, you don't get milk because you already brushed. Come on; let them argue we should go to bed."

Sia lay beside Sahil with her eyes closed. Sahil made sure she was sleeping before he turned the T.V. off and waited for Sana. When she entered with a glass of water and placed it on the small desk beside the bed, Sahil pulled her down in his lap. Sana smiled at him before slipping her arms around his neck. "Your daughter is still in the room." Yet she kissed his cheek.

Sahil sighed and pulled her closer than she already was. "She already knows we love each other. She won't mind." He was grinning at her. "I think we need a long vacation, just you and me."

Sia turned to the other side of the bed and pulled the blanket closer to her. Sana rolled to the other side of the bed and sat down beside Sahil. Her cheek pressed against his chest as she looked at her only daughter. "I still remember how many problems we went thought when I was carrying Sia." With one hand resting on her daughter she held Sahil's hand with the other. "If you weren't there, Sia or I, or one of us, we wouldn't have been here right now."

"Don't say that Sana. I can't imagine my life without the two of you. And we pulled through, we are happy now. There's no point in looking back at the bad. Remember how much fun we had between the three months of us finally getting together and you telling me you were pregnant with Sia." He laughed in his throat. "I love you Sana."

She placed both her arms around his waist now. "I love you too." Sahil unclipped her hair and kissed her head. "So," his tone was naughty now. "Do you think we can plan for another kid now?"

Sana sighed, "I've always wanted two kids Sahil, but I'm scared. What if we face complication again?"

"We'll consult the doctor, Kripa, she's a gynecologist. And, maybe she can recommend someone better than who you have been going to."

"I suppose we can." She looked at Sia. "But I'm happy with just Sia if nothing works out."

"Of course it will." Sahil rubbed his hand on her arm, she was scared and it was understandable. "Now relax."

Angad and Kripa were sitting on the floor in Angad's room looking through their freshman year's yearbook. So many old, good, memories came back. It was lovely. They both avoided picture with Aman, and avoid bring him up in any of their conversations. Finally when they reached the last page, Kripa closed the book and set it aside. "I should get going. Karan has been unlimitedly pleased with the amount of time we have been spending together."

"Hmm, we have been. At the hospital and outside."

"Yes." The idea was pleasant but at the same time shocking. "Well after this project is done, and if our little plan works out I'm sure we won't find too much time to be together. So enjoy me around while you can." She stood up and he sneezed again. She placed a hand on his forehead. "Seems like someone is getting sick. Take Advil or Sudafed. I would hate it if you got sick by the time the sun came up on Monday."

He sniffed, his eyes watery, "I would as well. Come on I'll drop you to the door."

"No, we will first find you the suitable medicine, and then I will make sure you're sleeping, and then I'll leave."

"Oh Kripa, you care for me like my wife."

"Wrong. I care for you because if you get sick my project will suffer. Who cares about you?"

"Oh!" he frowned at her words. "And I was about to start dreaming."

She laughed, "Come on lets find you some medicine." When she turned around with Angad they found Kiran standing at the door smiling.

"I think I can retire finally. Only had him to worry about but I have you now." Kripa smiled nervously. "He's been on medication for a few days now." Kripa noticed the milk in her hand, and then medicines in the other. "Kripa will make sure that you finish this glass. Good night." She kissed his son and then Kripa.

Kripa with the milk in her hand turned with a grin. "All right baccha, finish the glass."

"How about I take the medicine with water?"

"No." She pushed him to the bed and held the milk and medicines in front of him. "Come on." She held the milk to his lips and pressed her fingers on his nose. "Drink." He drank half the glass and then stopped.

He took the pills from her hand and pretty much threw them in his mouth, and then took the glass and finished it. "You're a good patient, but worst than some of the kids I deal with. Now good night, I'll see you on Monday."

"What are you doing tomorrow?"

"Nothing big. Jason and Faith are coming over, so we're going to have lunch together."

"Without me?" he frowned.

"You can come if you want." She sat down beside him. "But you should rest a day."

He leaned against her feeling the pills already working, relaxing him. "I suppose." Kripa smiled at him.

"Thank you, Angad."

"For?" He sat up again, this had to be important.

"For everything. You've made my life a little easier by helping me in almost everything."

"Well I am getting paid for the project." He looked at her. "Right? Or are you just freeloading?"

"Of course you are silly. You earned it. Now I'm going it's getting late."

"Alright, bye." He kissed her cheek and let her go. Guys make sure you read everything in the red and blue as my notes. It's important! 😊

Hey guys,

I know you guys liked this part! I'll post the next part in about 5 hours! 😉

I continued Kabhi Na Kabhi so check that out and i'll post the next part today.

Now after Kabhi Na Kabhi I'm starting a new short maybe 7-10 chapters Fan-Fictions. It's called Summer Affairs. Unless I change it! 😆 It doesn't suit the story. 😆

Summary: Kripa Sharma is looking for a summer job when she meets Angad Khanna. For the summer he offers her a job to take care... rather baby-sit, his three girls.

Coming up in this story: Angad and Kripa's mind flutters. And they see something change in them. The story gets really good from the next part on! 😃

Hugs and kisses,

Neha

ok ok almost the first one to comment again...story gets interesting?? even more interesting that it already is...wow this has to be goooddd!!! i love how your story doesnt rush into stuff. i mean like its so realistic for Kripa, who was hurt before and cant fall in love. and Angad, who cares about kripa but doesnt love her...yet 😉 great job portraying the changes in them

I'm loving Dev in this story. i was wrong about him. i thought he didnt care but he does. and he is the reason that kripa and angad are together.

one question though...why were kripa and angad pretending to be in love when they were alone if this was all a plan?? 😕 i hope they realize their feelings for each other soon enough before its too late. but from the prologue i know something bad is going to happen

anyways..continue sooooon. 5 hours is a long time when the next part is supposed to be more interesting. 😃

luv rani
