Part 7( mahaepisode 1)
Rehearsal hall
Khushi had heard that her partner in the play was someone very special. She just didn't know who it is. They had done auditions separately, girls in the auditorium and boys in the hall. All the student finally started filling the room up waiting for their teacher Mr Mehra. Khushi thought him to be a quite good looking teacher and he was only 24. He glanced her way and she smiled.
He saw the way she smiled at their teacher. Why can't she smile at me like that? Arnav thought. He walked towards her and stood in front of her.
Arnav- "So Juliet? Ready to do some romance with your Romeo."
Khushi- "You?"
Arnav- "Yes me! Do you have a problem with that?"
Khushi- "Yes! I'm not doing the play if you are Romeo."
She turned to walk away when he grabbed both her arms and pulled her back on his chest. He held her around her waist with one hand and the other used to push her hair of her neck. He leaned closer to her and whispered" Is Miss Khushi Kumari Gupta scared?"
Khushi opened her eyes in shock and turned to face him and came into contact with his lips because of the proximity. He bent forward and captured her hot lips with his. He held the back of her neck to bring her more closer. Arnav continued to savor the taste of her lips. He could swear her lips tasted like strawberries or is the lip gloss she's using?
Arnav felt as though he went to heaven and came back. He used his tongue to pry open her teeth when he felt her small hands on his chest. She pushed him away. He looked at her face and saw her cheeks were flushed.
Their entire class stood there stunned. This is the first time Arnav Singh Raizada kissed a girl in public.
Teacher(Mr Mathur)- "Ahem... If you two are done can we get on with the rehearsals? Or do I need to ask the principal for an empty classroom for you two?"
Khushi had never felt so embarrassed in her life. She could kill Arnav right now and wouldn't care if she had to go to jail for it. Khushi turned to leave and Arnav caught her hand.
Arnav- "What happened Khushi? Are you scared of me? Is that why you are quitting?"
Arnav knew he got her now. Although he only knew her for a few days he knows she won't back away from a challenge.
Khushi- "You wish Arnav." She turned to her teacher and said "Shall we start Sir?"
The rehearsals started and everyone was excited. Khushi tried to put her best in her performance but it was quite difficult since he was always staring at her. It went on for three days until the day finally came.
Khushi was standing by her mirror getting dressed. She wore a gorgeous red saree with silver borders around it. The blouse was strapless and thick tie up at the back. She thought it was a bit to revealing but the college had their costumes specially made for them. Her sister Payal was also coming to watch the play but her brother could not make it as he and Anjali were going out. Khushi felt disappointed at first but then her jiji cheered her up by give her jalebis.
Arnav looked at the sherwani shocked.
Arnav- "What the? I'm not using that Di! I will look ridiculous."
Nk- "Chill Nanav, mera Bhai. You will look very handsome today. Your majnu will not be able to take her eyes of u."
Akash- "Majnu? Bhai you did not tell us that you are playing the role of Laila."
Everyone in the Raizada house burst out laughing.
Arnav- "Whatever! Nk its not Manju, its Laila. Manju is the male lead that's me and Laila is the female lead that's Khushi. Understand! And if you don't want to come NK we will understand."
"Khushi? Is this the same Khushi? Shyam's sister?" Anjali thought
Nk- NO NO NO! I have to come. Khushi will be there.
At that moment Arnav wished he could knock NK out. This is why he didn't want him to. Well I'll just have to keep him away from her.
Arnav- "Di? I wish you could come. I will really miss you there."
Anjali lifted her palms to cup his face. She leaned forward and kissed his forehead.
Anjali- "Chotte, if you tell me to I will cancel my plans. You know your happiness is more important than mine."
Arnav- "NO NO DI! Please you carry on. You need to spend time with your would be husband whom I still haven't met."
Anjali- "Okay then, Enjoy and please Chotte give Khushi a break, she's a sweet girl."
Arnav looked at her shocked and said " sweet, my foot, she's got such a big mouth" Arnav rolled his eyes at his sister.
Anjali- "...and you can't stand it because you are always in control. Now for the first time a girl has come into your life and gives you tit for tat. Isn't Chotte?"
Arnav got irritated at his sister, how can she take her side when she doesn't even know her?
College play
She was so scared to get off the car because she felt her outfit was to revealing. She draped herself with a shawl and got of. Her stomach felt as if butterflies were fluttering and she was sweating from nervousness. How was she going to manage this play when during the rehearsals she couldn't perform properly with him?
Khushi- "Hey Devi Maiyya! Please protect me."
"No one is going to protect you, so don't waste your time," said a voice behind her.
Khushi turned around and came face to face with Lavanya Kashyap. Before she could open her mouth Lavanya grabbed her by her hair.
Lavanya- "This is a warning to you, stay as far as you from My Boyfriend or else..."
Khushi grabbed her hand and yanked it of her hair.
Khushi- "Or else what Lavanya? Don't even try to threaten me! I'm not afraid of you."
Lavanya- "How dare you speak to me like that you..."
Khushi- "Watch your mouth Lavanya. I can use foul words as well but I choose not to. I respect people and myself but then again that's something you wouldn't understand."
Khushi turned to walk away when she looked at Lavanya and said
"If you are so insecure about your boyfriend then keep him under lock and key from the other girls of this college. I am personally not interested in him."
Lavanya- "You b***h! I'll make you pay. I swear."
Khushi- "You know what Lavanya do whatever you want but just remember, this is just someone who is insecure and scared talking. I mean if your boyfriend really loved you then you would trust him to know no girl can take him away from you. But then I guess you and I both know for a fact he's just with you as time pass. Am I right Miss Lavanya Kashyap?"
Khushi smirked at her and turned away. She felt bad for what she told Lavanya but then again that's the only way to shut her up. She finally fought her way through and knew that her jiji would be proud of her standing up for herself.
He saw her walk away after giving Lavanya that mouth full. "Damn this girl got guts", but he also knew Lavanya she's not going to take this lightly. She will definitely come back with something much worse for Khushi. He knew now that he had to keep an eye on her to protect Khushi. "Dammit! What the hell is wrong with me? Why can't I just let Lavanya make her life miserable? Why do I feel the need to protect her? After all what relation do we share?" He thought breaking his head for answers.
They both entered the hall from opposite sides. Theirs scanned the room and finally fell on each other. Khushi's hair started fly onto her face. That one strand of hair tickling her. She looked up and saw his burning gaze as if he's trying to tell her something. She nodded her head up to ask him what?
He pointed to her cheeks and she became so conscious that frantically she started wiping her face. She did not even notice him walk to her. She was busy looking in her small mirror to see what's on her face. She felt him the instant he stood by her, her eyes lifted up to meet his. Their eyes shared an intense moment. They were drinking in each others appearance.
He never saw anyone look so beautiful in his favorite color before. He's seen many girls use red, but Khushi made the color red look even more stunning. He felt a sudden stir in his lower body. He wasn't weak when it came to desires but this girl is making his desires take over completely. He thought of the kiss for the 100th time since that's all he thought about since then.
Khushi loved how he looked tonight. The sherwani he wore clung to his body enhancing his muscles even more. His face was clean shaven and she could get the sweet smell of his after shave. She wanted to lean forward and just kiss him. She was still not able to get over their first kiss. She never had sleep from that day. But she had to show him she didn't care although she knew its not true. She came back to reality.
Khushi- "Why did you lie to me? There's nothing on my cheek."
Arnav- "I didn't lie, there is something there, its just you can't see it but I can."
Khushi looked at him confused and said "What?"
Arnav smirked at her innocence- "Your cute red Blush!"
Before she could tell him something the announcer called their names.
Khushi had never been so nervous before. Her heart was beating so loudly that she was sure everyone could here. She went and stood in her place waiting for the lights to come on.
The light shone on her and Arnav was star struck. She looked so gorgeous, her jewelry sparkled like stars on a clear night.
Khushi smiled- "Romeo? Romeo? Where are you?" She held her pallu and twirled around. Flower petals started to fall on her and she knew her Romeo was here.
Arnav came up behind and held her around her waist. This proximity they are sharing is killing them. But they have to stay in control since there are 1000s of people watching them.
Arnav- "Juliet my love, I'm here, I will never leave you. You are the reason I breathe."
Khushi cupped his face and said " but we cannot be together, our families are against our union.
Arnav- "Don't worry my love, I'm going now to fight for you."
Khushi- "No! You can't. They will kill you. I cannot live without you. You are the sole reason for my existence."
Arnav- "If I don't do this we can never be together. You will know the instant my heart stops beating because we are linked. Our hearts beat as one."
Arnav(Romeo) leaves from there.
Khushi(Juliet)- "Oh gods in heaven, please protect my love for without him I have no existence. She starts to hum a beautiful song when she is interrupted by her servant."
Servant- "My lady, I bring heartbreaking news for you. Romeo has had his final journey. He did not survive my lady."
Khushi(Juliet) fell to the ground and started to bang her bangles on the floor. This action caused deep wounds on her wrist and blood started to flow out. She cried so hard cursing her ill fated self.
She picked up the dagger from the floor and plunged it straight through her heart screaming Romeo. At the next instance she fell to the ground and closed her eyes.
Arnav(Romeo) ran towards her screaming her name. He fell to the ground and held her head on his lap crying like water flowing in the river.
Arnav(Romeo)- "Juliet my love, please wake up. I'm here. You have been given false information. Please wake up, I promise to never leave you again."
He held her tightly and wept out loudly saying her name over and over. He finally laid her on the ground slowly and put his head on her chest.
Arnav- "Whenever I said or did anything bad to you I died a thousand times. Whenever I made tears flow from your eyes I hurt myself a thousand times. Just know that I never meant any of those Khushi."
Khushi heard him say her name. "Oh god what is he doing? Why is he saying my name instead of Juliet?" She thought.
Arnav- "The saying goes that you hurt the people you care about the most. I had no other way of expressing my true feelings so I chose the ignorant way out. The first time I saw you I was lost in you. It was as if I could hear your heartbeat along with mine."
Khushi didn't know why but she felt as if Arnav is saying this and not Romeo.
Arnav woke up from her chest, bent forward and brushed his lips on her forehead. He picked up the dagger and turned to her.
Arnav- "If your heartbeat has stopped then there's no reason for mine to beat. Till we meet again my love." He took the dagger and plunged it through his heart. He fell on top of her their hearts joined as well.
The audience had tears in their eyes. Everyone of them stood up and clapped. There was a roar of praises. People whistled and screamed their names.
Arnav got up and helped Khushi up not looking at her. Khushi held his hand and bowed to the audience. He turned to look at her she saw something she never thought she would see TEARS.
Precap
Arnav- What do you know about the pain of losing someone close to you.
Khushi- I understand Arnav. I...
Arnav screamed- No Khushi! You don't know what its like to cremate your mother and father together.
Khushi lifted her hand to his shoulder- Arnav listen...
He caught her hand and shoved her so hard she almost lost her balance. She had tears rolling down her cheeks.
Arnav- Enough Khushi!! I don't want to hear anything. Just make sure that I never see your face again.
Least did he know that the next morning they were going to meet again in his house.
Whew. My fingers are feeling numbed after typing this. I really hpe u all enjoy this. The dialogues between romeo and juliet are my own. I thought of giving it a different touch instead of using the original. Please do let me know your thoughts. Thank u all for your comments its means a lot to me.
