Chapter 10
"Etiquette" is one thing Khushi has been taught from a very early age. Her family had very high values and morals where even holding hands before marriage was nothing less than a sin. In a frenzy moment of passion Khushi had decided that she could not live with Arnav misunderstanding her and without thinking anything else she had sneaked out of her house, climbed into his room and later kissed him senseless. Finally Arnav had opened his heart up to her and at that moment nothing had mattered except for Arnav, Arnav and Arnav. Arnav had decided that he'd drop Khushi home before dawn so nobody would realize that she spent the night at his place. Alas!!! They had been so comfortable in each others arms, cuddling that they didn't realize when they fell asleep.
Arnav had been the first one to wake up to the sound of his Di knocking. He was about to open the door when he realized something soft pressing against him. It took him a moment to realize and thoroughly shocked he jerked up to an upright position. The sudden movement annoyed Khushi and woke her up. She was about to scold jiji when she looked up to see Arnav sitting with his hair ruffled and she felt the urge to kiss him once again. Man!! he looked cute!! Just then she realized where she was and how she got her.
"Chotte!! darwaza kholo" followed by some more persistant knocking.
"oh crap!!" both said simultaneously.
...
Not only had Khushi spent the night at a guy's place she had spent the night at her jiji's devar's bed. If her family ever came to know about this they wouldn't be able to show their face ever again.
Before she knew it big, fat tears started coming out of her doe like eyes. She was terribly frightened and also embarrassed about the situation.
Arnav had always known Khushi as a strong, determined and fiesty girl. Seeing tears falling from her eyes is something he never thought he'd see. He felt a tug at his heartstrings and realized in a second that it was not possible for him to ever see tears in her eyes. He could do anything to see a smile on her face.
He gathered her in his arms, cupped her face and said "don't worry we'll think of something. Please don't cry"
And this was what Anjali saw. She had turned the knob to see if it was open and pushed the door open.
...
Anjali was shocked beyond words to see Khushi sitting in her brother's arms while he cupped her face. Both their hair were tousled and eyes sleepy. There was no doubt that Arnav and Khushi spent the night together. Never had she even a inkling that this two might like each other let along love.
The pooja thaal fell from her hand, she gasped and uttered "Oh my god!!!"
It took Arshi only a few seconds to spring apart from each other and act like nothing happened. Although they knew this attempt was pretty futile because it was pretty apparent...
"Di it's not what it's looking like"
Anjali raised her eyebrows and looked at their disheveled state from head to toe. Khushi blushed hard. She knew what Anjali was thinking.
"Di seriously!!! We were talking and we fell asleep. Nothing like what you are thinking"
"Di would I ever lie to you??"
Again Anjali raised her eyebrows. Seriously at the rate they are going she might develop permanently raised eyebrows, Anjali mused.
"Okay maybe I would but now I'm not. Seriously di we didn"t do what you are thinking we did"
This last line delivered by Arnav made both Anjali and Khushi blush.
"Erm Khushi, where do your parents think you are??"
Khushi was finding it hard to look at Anjali let along reply to her but she gathered up all the courage she could muster and replied "in bed"
"Which bed??" This Anjali asked only to rattle them up a little more. Seriously, she was enjoying herself. It was not everyday that Anjali managed to corner her hot-headed brother.
Khushi blushed even harder (as if that is even possible!!!) and anjali was awarded a glare by her dear brother for the question.
"Obviously her own bed" Arnav answered angrily on behalf of Khushi. He was going to scold Anjali for her question but he knew he was cornered and rattling Anjali at this moment was not actually a good idea. What if she told nani!!! Hell!! What if nani called Khushi's parents!! Therefore it was better to remain silent at this moment.
Chuckling inwardly at her brother's helplessness Anjali decided it was not a laughing matter and they needed to be scolded hard for this. They had crossed a big line. She she put on a stern face (something she was not really good at) and asked khushi again.
"Won't your parents realize you are not in bed??"
"Obviously di... we didnt mean to fall..."
"I think khushi can answer for herself chotte"
"I'm sorry Di. I didnt mean to fall asleep"
Her teary eyes and shaken features making Anjali soften in a jiffy but she still decided not to give in so soon.
"How did you get here?? I locked the main door myself?"
Both arnav and khushi looked towards the window and anjali didnt require a verbal answer to understand.
"I am really confused. Just yesterday chotte was really mad at khushi, he refused all your calls and even made me refuse your call and then this!!! Do you guys know what you did? Do you guys have any idea?? If this got out do you know khushi you'd have to live with a bad reputation all your life. Its easy for men but for females!! Do you know how your parents will react to this!! If you guys were older I'd make sure you got married by tomorrow but you guys are still to young to even think about that. I hope you guys know about safe sex..."
"For crying out loud di we didn't have sex. Tumhari kasam"
Anjali knew her brother would never lie about this to her so she calmed down a bit.
"Well that doesn't mean what you guys did was right"
"We are sorry di. We didnt do it intentionally. It won't happen again. We promise"
"You guys are not understanding you're way to young. You might break up. Thats normal at this age but you are relatives. You'll have to see each other your whole life. Do you even know how awkward thats going to be?? I'm not telling you to break up. I'm telling you to think it through. I'm telling you guys not to rush into things. "
Khushi came and hugged Anjali "Sorry Di"
Anjali truly loved khushi. She'd be truly ecstatic if Arnav married her later on but she being the elder sister just couldn't let them go. It was her duty to look over them
"Now go before nani sees you guys and Khushi's parents find out that she is missing. Go now"
Anjali smiled inwardly. Khushi is far better than any of the girls her brother had dated till now.
...
It was a well known fact now that Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi Kumari Gupta, former arch nemesis, were now an hot item. They only had eyes for each other.
Most of the girls were jealous of Khushi and many cried a silent tear. Some were even evil enough to still pursue Arnav, show him their cleavage "accidentally" but Arnav never had any eye for them. Nothing they ever did made him glance at their way even once. He had eyes for only his Khushi.
Yash finally asked La out and they never knew they had so much in common. They totally clicked. This made all the guys sad.
Khushi came back to reporting sports but she avoided football. Both of them decided it was better if they distanced themselves in this regard as they didn't want anything to jeopardize their relationship. I think this was a wise move at their part. It certainly helped save their relationship.
In two months their senior year ended and Arnav Khushi was named Prom King and Queen. No one was left with any doubt that they would be together after many many years.
Arnav and Khushi became busy with their impending sibling's wedding and also with finding suitable university to join. Since their subjects were different they decided that they'll join different universities.
...
"Arnav kaha hain??" asked Aakash.
"Khushi bhi Kaha hain" said Payal.
"Mohorat ka samay bita ja raha hain" said the pandit ji.
"Meine to sanka devi ko kab bheja tha ful lane ke liye" said buaji.
"aree maine bhi to chote ko ful lane ke liye bheja tha" nani ji replied.
"maybe they cant find the flowers." garima input her thoughts.
"I hope they are not fighting" nani added.
Yeah right!!! Anjali rolled her eyes. Only she knew... couldn't the love birds get some time o come to their own siblings' wedding. Where were they?? I mean seriously!!!
Yeah they were fighting. Fighting with their tongues and lips to see who could dominate whom. They bit, they sucked, they explored the already familiar mouths.
Khushi truly came to the roof to get flowers. Arnav saw khushi going so he said to nani that he was going to get the flowers. Slowly and steadily like a leopard stalking his prey he followed her and pulled her by her waist. He took her to a secluded corner of the roof and plunged his mouth onto hers.
All thoughts of flowers, wedding, jiji and literally everything forgotten Khushi put her arms around his neck and wrapped her legs around his waist (this was truly a difficult feat guys as she was wearing a lehenga)
He pushed her to a wall and kissed her with all the passion he could muster. They stayed like this for a long time finally breaking apart gasping for air.
"I missed you" said khushi
"I missed you more" replied Arnav.
They hadn't seen each other in the last two days as they were very busy with the wedding preparations.
"I got a letter today. I got full free journalism scholarship. I'm so happy. Now I can pursue my career as a journalist and you know whats the best part my major is sports. I'm feeling so lucky at this moment. Life couldn't be better"
"Really!!! I got a letter too!! I got full free sports scholarship at the uni I wanted to study from when I was a kid. Guess we both got what we wanted. I actually came up here to tell you this great news before you diverted me with your luscious lips."
"I got admitted to..."
"I'm now a student of..."
"St. Xaviers University" both said simultaneously.
Both looked at each others eyes horrified.
"Oh crap!!"
"Oh no not again"
